  • Does this work with a release buckle?

  • 6th complete fusion knot. JD I am totally jealous of your skills, keep it up my good man.

  • My wife had requested I make this for her and I'm all set to make it, but I found myself at a small stand still and curious about something, and that is : how do you determine the final length and how do you determine the amount of cord needed to achieve that length ?

Anyway, I enjoy your work, the attention to detail and how well the shots are framed in your vids, they've been very helpful. Thanks

  • @ShadowGryphon I had trouble with this too. I retied the bracelet 3 times before it was the right length. Trial and error is how it worked for me.

  • This looks very similar to ABOK #2468

  • @SicilianMafia - If you tighten up ABOK #2468 (the "Caterpillar Knot") it is a Solomon Bar, Ashley himself even states this. Put simply...the KBK Bar is not a Solomon Bar. Truth be told, there our thousands of knots between and around the knots historically known, and its high time we enjoy them. My role here is to help that process along...

  • Sweet!

  • that interesting. i was messing with the cobra sinnet/weave a few days ago and came up with the same thing

  • What colors are you using on this one?

  • What does "KBK" stand for?

  • I tied this bar, but mine turned out looking completely different. maybe because i tightened the crap out of it. all the gaps are absent making it form an S pattern in alternating colors. Still looks cool and i wear it pretty much every day. Thanks!

  • Awesome video man! I just got my paracord in the mail today!

  • this is a cool bar, though i think your dreams might have been guided by another video from youtube a few months back... a little kid made something called the "scorpion bar" and it was really good, looks just like the KBK

  • @tronclay

    ...

I believe you’re referring to what (user) “bspade4” calls a “Paracord Scorpion Stitch”. Take a closer look; the KBK Bar is different. If they were not, I’d rename the tie or provide an associated credit (as I’ve done so before) – see video for “Wide Zipper Sinnet”

  • @tronclay He didn't make it he just to credit for it, the scorpion bar has existed for 40+ years

  • @tronclay p.s. the saw the video

  • Do all of these knots only work with nylon? Or can they also work with other things like craft thread or polyester thread? I make macrame bracelets so I have a lot of that stuff around. I love your videos! And the way that you film it makes it seem very simple and clear. Other peoples quality in their videos isn't as good as yours. I can't wait for you to make more videos!

  • Another fine knot. I'm looking forward to the book.

  • Wow.... I have been playing around with this same idea for the last few weeks. Do you suppose we have been having the same dreams? LOL

  • I created something like this a few months back. I called it The Coatlicue Knot, after the Aztec Goddess (since it looked like a continuation of knots she had on her skirt). Either Way, it looks way better how you made it (I made mine out of Hemp). :)

  • Nice decorative knot. I always enjoy watching your demonstrations and the knots you come up with. Everyone tells me I am addicted to rope and knots and I love adding a new knot to my library. keep up the good work.

Thanks... (smile) If you haven’t already, you should check out my link regarding my movie. The main character has a job in the same industry as you.

Best to you and all your ties,

  • @TyingItAllTogether I will have to check that out. Thanks for the info

  • Another fine production and interesting fusion knotting technique. Thank you.

Have you ever put together an electronic visual "knot board" with all of your knots and bars with labels?

Your creativity, talent and energy are inspiring.

  • it looks like you took the (knife lanyard knot i guess its called to some) and kept going with a Portuguese sinnet for a pretty slick effect

  • I have tons of 550 paracord. JD uses 450 paracord. Are there any technical differences encountered in making a knot with 550 as opposed to 450? If I use 550 instead of 450, will I need more cord? I want to begin using miniblind cord and lacrosse string. How I adjust cord length for the thinner diameter?

  • @threelees1

    ...

Your 550 paracrod is stronger than my 450 paracord, still all the designs I show will work fine tying with 550.

  • That must have been some dream. At my age, the only thing I dream about is waking in the morning and being able to fog a mirror.

  • which is your favorite bar ?

  • @zk453

    ...

Right now, I'd say my favorite "bar" is the Dragon's Tongue.

    ...

    Thanks for asking,

  • Thanks a lot...

  • Very cool design! Thanks

  • Wooow, now that's what I call a dream hehe.. thanks JD...

  • @MrK9angel

    ...

Specifically... I dreamt of opposing, interlocking S-curves. Figured how to hold the bar together in the morning. (smile)
