  • Definately the anthem of my love-life, it's the sound track to how I've lived these past 30 years. Darrell Fikiet

  • I would play this from the War of the Worlds album for my children to dance to. I absolutely love this song!!

  • Thankyou for the upload. I heard this late one night listening to the radio recently, and it was then i just couldnt get it out of my mind. I had to find it and listen to it, and yes there it is? its from somewhere deep in my memory, deep in my past somewhere. I just cant recall where i first heard it but its there somewhere. Its a powerfull track, emotional. Thankyou Justin for this track.

  • ''.... you always loved this time of year... those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now'' at this point im nearly in tears

  • One of my favorite "Moody Blues" songs, but not written by them.

from Wikipedia: "Forever Autumn" is a song by Jeff Wayne, Gary Osborne and Paul Vigrass. The original melody was written by Wayne in 1969... Vigrass and Osborne...added lyrics to the song and recorded it for inclusion on their 1972 album Queues.... The best-known version is the recording by Justin Hayward.... Hayward...was hand-picked by Wayne to sing it (because, Wayne said, he "wanted that voice from 'Nights In White Satin'").

  • 28 dislikes??? huh???

    must be Martians!!!

    quick, where's the bacteria !

  • amazing song

  • Lorry driving Stig's favourite tune

  • Reminds me of my ex girl friend I had long ago in college... I miss her very much til this day some 40 years later.

  • is there a full version of this song available for purchase? the one from the album gets cut off before the end and I can't find any that don't have that problem.

maybe an older version of the album would have the full song? I don't remember it ending "cause you're not heeeeeee-" before I got a new copy

  • @IGaveMyNameToThatGuy Moody Blues - Gold(remastered) exact same version of the song as this one :D

  • nice video for a cracking song :)

  • now your not here

  • R I P Rock 'n' Pop 1955-1985

  • War of the Worlds is an awesome album and this track, along with Spirit of Man, is one of my favourite tracks. I clicked on the link to listen to the song as I'm not usually particularly impressed with people putting together slide shows and calling them "videos" but you've clearly put a lot of thought and effort into producing this and I found myself enjoying the video as well as the audio. Great stuff.

  • In 1978, on my 9th birthday I was given a Red ITT Pony Radio and this song was one of the first I listened to on it I have loved this song ever since, and at the age of 42 this song still sends shivers down my spine.

  • Thumbs up.

  • Through autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way.....I've been doing this very thing with my grandson this year. What a great song!

  • I was only 10 when i first heard this song I heard it on the record of the war of the worlds, i absolutely fell in love with this song, it makes me cry every time i hear it, i dont know if it is because it makes me think of my childhood days, life was so different when i was growing up to the present world . i am talking about 30 years ago. Sounds old to me, wow how time does fly.

  • July 4, 2012, Rally at the Rock and Roll of Fame to try and get the Moody Blues into there. Please bring signs. Its time!

  • i like this song!!!

  • Beautiful.

  • Stunning. Am I just constantly nostalgic about music from this period and before, or are songs 'really' not as good now?? There's a few great bands around these days, but they're very few and far between. For example..The Artic Monkeys.

  • The most haunting, beautiful song.

Loved hearing this at War of the Worlds live in Birmingham last year.

    Stunning !!

  • i love this song it makes me cry...it was my mum's favorite time of year...i lost her spet. 9th this year...she had lost her vision also in the end so if she can see again in heaven she can now see the beautiful fall leaves everywhere...

  • I always feel so very melancholy when I listen to " Forever Autumn", partly because it always reminds me of my walking hand in hand with my soulmate ,kicking our way through the golden gown of leaves.....my favourite time of year, my birth time, also. It tears me apart because I cannot be with him..... Oh the heartache. We have waited far too long This gorgeous lovesong sung by Justin could have been written for us.......coincidence or what !!!! Etermal love..... Angie.K. XXxxXX.

  • MY, happy 60th birthday from earth to heaven. How I wish you were still around to celebrate this milestone birthday. It's summer now but my life is forever autumn, cos you are not here. Like the sun through the trees you came to love me, but now words fail to describe how much I miss you.

  • @chazzahazza333 there was another version by a duo before war of the worlds sheet music was issued by/ with them on the cover but i cant remmeber their name

  • @chazzahazza333

People don't like this song because they have no soul, and don't understand what it is like to be in love and see it vanish before their eyes.

  • I love you sis xxx

  • I played thsis song to my (now) ex boyfriend...it made him cry when he first heard it and he's not exactly the emtional type...it was so sweet. • I love this song, and I dedicate this song to my beloved mother who passed away in July 1988. When WE first heard this song back in 1978, she immediately had an attraction towards it. She will always be my forever autumn. I miss you Mom and always will.

  • a beautiful song from years gone by

  • After hearing this song, it reminds me of my dog who died in late autumn. It still kills me to this date. Thanks Mr. Hayward for your song!

  • The Moody Blues remain one of my all-time favorite groups. And this song by JH is as beautiful as anything the Moodys ever did, and that's saying a lot. Funny to see posts about how people's departed parents liked this song. Makes me feel mortal.

  • some say......

  • pure quality....master piece....a real mind and heart mover....well done jh

  • My late wife used to gravitate to this song on my iPod, kind of unnerving to say the least. It's been 4 hrs and I'm still raising our kids. At least she's with our 1st son, whom died at birth. Death sucks most for this us still here!

  • @egcasey1 Beautiful music goes to beautiful people.

Share this with your children & stay strong for yourself & them

  • this is beautiful . the song, the voice, the man, the video.

  • @keetain

    the man...

  • My late wife and I hugged and cried along with this song 26 years ago. She was dying, and I wanted to also. This a truly beautiful song and sung beautifully.

  • @gracam11 How appropriate, and, yet , how fortunate you did not. If all lovers died when those they love died, only lust and immature love would be left in the world...and expressions like yours, and music like that of the Moody Blues would go unappreciated by the living. Fight to live and love everyone who will allow your warmth to make their lives more meaningful.

I am touched by the love you felt for your wife. God bless you.

    Tom Loughlin Jr, Utica NY

  • beautiful!

  • love this song, justin hayward has such a good voice. quite funny, i know his daughter(losely)

  • Such a beautiful song, but yet so sad.

  • my dad was such a war of the worlds fan, so i chose this song for his funeral cant believe it was nearly a year ago miss him so very much .

  • @TheYvonnehopkins God Bless you, it's a beautiful song x

  • @TheYvonnehopkins God Bless you, it's a beautiful song x

  • @TheYvonnehopkins - Time helps. I lost my mum 7 years ago and I genuinely can't believe that much time has passed. It does getter better. You also miss them but they are now special in your heart and mind. Hope it get's easer for you. Helen

  • @TheYvonnehopkins

What a beautiful song to remember your dad to ....

  • @TheYvonnehopkins

Sorry about your loss, I miss my mum the same-keep them in your heart and they will never die

  • The point of this song- we all love someone, past or present. How lucky for you in the present. It is for us who have to pass it on to you. Life passes-love stays. You are here. Forever Autumn- forever my love. Like all who hear this song in the here-"we will always love you". Mark

  • every time I think of my best friend,Kerry Cox....Still missing you!!!!! How is Heaven??? xoxoxoxx

  • I'm on such a memory trip... ;-)

  • We are on this site because we KNOW they are the best. They can can put words and music to what I feel. That must be love. I've had it once in the spiritual. Now they can tell me forever " I was right!"

  • it was 1980 when Forever Autumn touched my heart. It brought back a love to my dream who I could not live w/o. I drove all night in the freezing cold night, I replayed Forvere Autumn a zillion times to ease my pain of love for her. I finally realized I was nowhere near where I wanted to be. So I turned around back to sanity...peace---

  • @watchitagain007 And I bet it still hurts like hell. I have been there........ very hard......

  • god bless to all the people i know and miss

  • I'll always love and miss you Gary, no matter the season.

  • Arguably, the most beautiful song of the pop music era.

  • As the beam lept from man to man, everything it touched instantly flashed to fire.. at the touch of this ungodly, unearthly, Heat Ray..

  • Is this song really about death? or just someone going away, never to be seen again?

  • @MiggleMuggle Its from Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds and is about the Main Character's Sorrow at not being able to escape with his True Love away from The Alien Invaders or at least that is my understanding after watching the live show :)

  • @MiggleMuggle I think it is about a lost love, but a very sad song x x x x

  • This is and remains for me one of the most wonderful songs of all time, and whilst Justin wrote and sung so many it's ironic that he didn't wirte this one!

However, it nonetheless rmains one of the best ever, and only one person could do it justice.

  • Too soon old, to late schmartz..

  • I was born during 1978 and it was remembered fondly by my parents that this was the song on the radio as my mother gave birth to me. It's the song I'd like to bow out to when my time eventually comes to an end.

However during this time, this song is one of the most soothing, beautiful pieces of music ever created. Everytime I hear it I get a shinver down my spine and a tingle all over my body.

I LOVE THIS SONG! MORE OVER THAT ANYTHING ELSE!

  • I don't care if you live to be a 100, I pray you do Justin Hayward. I Love You all of my life and the rest of my days. You have captivated me with your song since the 1960's. I was a rockin little kid in the late 1960's, LOL! You are my Dream Love...Forever Autumn..

  • I remember in my early 20s a young man I loved with all of my heart and he loved me..So many years and tears..we came in and out of each others life for so many years through good and bad times. Until finally we blew away, I will always remember you Rodney and hope you found the happiness we did to this song, our song.

    Love Tam

  • l OVE THIS SONG, SUCH A CATCHY LIVELY TUNE/SONG WITH MARVELLOUS LYRICA AND MUIC

  • I just want my kids back

  • This is a personal fav of mine. The song resonates so much in my heart. I am sitting here reading the comments that people have written and how this song has touched their lives and I cannot help but be moved to tears. The Moodies are a musical language of love that reach so many and in so many ways. I love them and this song for that reason. Thank you for posting this. I love it deeply! min :-)

  • I grew up with this music....never really appreciated it. Saw the live production of it a while ago, and chose this song for my fathers funeral...i know he would have been proud. Miss u so much dad. xx

  • i loved this as a child...my sister and I would lie in the dark and listen to W of the W's together. When she died at 24 I was lost. My big sis. --Some years later I took my mum to her first ever live concert> Moodies. After intermission Justin came on alone and sang this. We both broke our hearts, and it felt that our precious Gilly was with us. Still miss you honey xx

  • Miss my little bro so much , I have to shed a tear. some day i will see you again.

  • I wish the Moody Blues had sounded like this in the eighties instead of the CRAP they were making. They used to be a tight band, and they would PROUDLY proclaim on each album that "ALL INTRUMENTS PLAYED BY THE MOODY BLUES." Look to what depths they've sunk.

  • Only one person could have sung this...Justin Hayward

  • Love can never be judged until the moment of parting. These are all touching comments from hearts abroad. Your words all are gold'n. Love and peace to all x

  • Amazing, a lot of heartfelt feelings and expressions here... There is a boundless energy full of love and bliss inside each of our hearts, find it, feel it, enjoy it. Peace and love to all my brothers and sisters everywhere

  • .when you got ill it did'nt sink in for a yr's that you was so ill..we went working together so you could try and keep your buisness going and i saw the nice gental side of you..then dementia started to take you away from us..then you got admitted to hospital and i came and saw you and told you i was getting married and you remembered me and smiled..i last saw you alive 2 wk's before my marriage..i do miss you.xx i know you loved my as a kid..xxx goodnight dad..xxx

  • @jabos113...oh my... your words have brought so many tears to my eyes and memeories back. It breaks my heart that my dad wont be there to see me get married. Just like you i saw my dad go through so many stages till he finally slipped away. Keep smiling. u know they would have wanted u to. x

  • @caroline59591 thank you....it's hard but i stuggle through life..

  • To Edilin: You were just 5 months old when you taken from ours lives. I'm still mad at God because he wanted you as his special angel, he will still need to answer to me and explain. Love is forever so are you.

    Love Pop Pop

  • Dear Bobbi,

Letting go of you was the biggest blunder of my life. I do and shall love you forever.

    Peter
