  • 1987. Our old future.

  • va va voom Erin Gray!

  • I would do Erin Gray, she's pretty hot!

  • Comment removed

  • Who here knew what South Park was spoofing before the kids had to look it up?

  • i wish they bring this show back on

  • SCIENCE DAMMIT

  • The Second Season should have kept the same cast and just introduced 2/3 episode story arcs to give everyone something to do . Instead they hire 100 year old wilfred hyde white who couldn't remember his lines

  • Where would we be getting the oil from to power those starfighters, I wonder!

  • I used to like 1987. But then I experienced cosmic forces beyond comprehension. To the knee.

  • I hated the second season. They moved the character off of earth, and were trying too make it more Star Trekish. They also got rid of Mel Blanc has the voice of Twiggy. And someone else too do the opening narration. The first season was the best. I quit watching after Hawk was introduced. It could of been better.

  • @hulkster46a Me too. I totally lost interest. Season 1 was fantastic....season 2 was an abortion.

  • @TheWolverine4life I heard the producers gave Gil Gerard too much creative control over his character. And the storyline too. I definately think that was a mistake, he was making a ton of money, and if he didn't like a storyline, he threatened too walk. I feel most actors, then and now, would be greatful just too have a job.

  • south park kept this alive

  • I love the South Park version of this intro.

  • gay robot at 0.44 ;)

  • This happened to me at Thanksgiving.

  • this is the intro to the 2nd season, sorry to sound like hater but the 2nd season of Buck Rogers totally sucked, that whole "searching for the lost tribes of earth" thing was totally lame. (BattleStar Galactica anyone?) and even adding a cool character like Hawk couldn't save it. and don't get me started on Chrighton,...the original Jar-Jar Binks before there he ever spring from George Lucas's mind.

  • bet Gil Gerard snorted a ton of coke off Erin Grays tits back in the day

  • this is the version i remember!

i used to watch this as a kid every saturday morning

  • Hank Sims narrated this

  • Who else came here looking for what South Park was spoofing?

  • @Zapinc9 Guilty! XD

  • This was one of my favorite shows back then. Couldn't get enough of Erin Gray when I was a teen!

  • Why can't I go back in time to 1980? Why did I need to be born in 1997. :(

  • Funny, I don't remember a manned deep space probe launched in 1987. Must have been a secret military mission. But seriously, this show was on the air in, what? 1980? you would have thought they could have set the date of his space mission more than 7 years in the future.

  • This was the season when this show went belly-up and got the boot by NBC in the Summer of 1981.

  • Pamela Hensley was the hottest. Yum!

  • I'm just glad those cosmic forces didn't send him to the year 2010 or this would seem really weird (er)

  • Ponies!

  • @MrGoupil89 PONIEEEES!!!

  • @ricardogriva Ponies? Ponies.

  • @churrocam PONIEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!

  • South PArk sent me here

  • inb4 they come mabye

  • Favourite character: the son of Robocop

  • The problem with Erin Grey today is- I'm married and I just know my current wife would be madder than hell if I asked her out.

  • GO GOD GO

  • I watched the crap out of this show as a kid, but now as an adult I can't watch it...It was just SOOOOOOO cheesy

  • Season 2 was awful.

  • So, what's so special about returning to earth 500years later.....?

  • Omg, I watched the HECK out of this show

  • Anyone know where I can find the original version of the intro from the first season.

  • This is the dawn of the sea otter.

  • THE TIME CHILD! He will give us the answer to the great question!

  • intro voice doesnt sound the same as original

  • wish they do a show similar to that

the idea seems really good, i just don't really want to watch old shows

  • Heh, awesome, just awesome

  • I was a little kid when this was on back in the day, and I remember thinking 1987 sounded really futuristic, let alone 2491.

  • Erin was hot, but the show became boring and lame when they changed the direction of the show!

  • I actually met Erin Gray a few years ago. She's still gorgeous (and also very charming!)

  • I was a very loyal viewer of this show. Great!

  • The Searcher season was stupid, redeemed only by the character of Hawk. They should have just stuck to defending Earth and kicking alien butt.

Oh, and Tweaky should have been destroyed in an industrial accident.

  • ah this is when the show jumped the shark, the searcher & hawk lol

  • No matter how many times I've watched this theme, it gives me goose bumps.

  • Erin Gray kept me from being gay!

  • This right here! Oh boy a chick was starving! Love me some "Buck" (in erin grays voice) Bee d beep! Oh yeah retro my ass!

  • This show was the shit now all I need is a delorian to go back in time to relive my childhood!!!!!

  • ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES! Erin Grey, Lynda Carter and Catherine Bach were the women that made me realize my man parts were for more than just pissin out of.....

  • @rang3r34 - I hear you there, dude!

  • @SidJustice1 Yep, buddy those were ther BEST days! Women were WAY sexier then than now!!

  • god bless erin gray i loved her she ws much hotter in the 90's though

  • Praise Science!!

  • The decade where everyone wore tights.

  • His life support systems were Frozen by temperatures beyond imagination

  • Lmao were playing this theme song in band xD THATS what brought me here but like seriously i gotta see that episode of South Park :DD

  • You'd think he went that far into the future they would have a time machine to send him back haha

  • fk south park i came here off my own back

  • Erin Gray was f*cking hot!

  • Nah. Daffy Duck brought me here!

  • ERIC CARTMAN

    2546

  • the opening sequence got me excited enough as a 5 year old to watch the rest of the crap. Those ridiculous christmas light fuel lines....classic.

  • I just wonder... ***WHO*** watched S1 of "Buck Rogers" and decided "Maybe we should dumb it down for the second season???"

  • I wanted me some Erin Gray back in the day.

  • @dukeallen2001 Who didn't :) Season 2 sucked tho, 1 was the best

  • @dukeallen2001 ERRR. what!....the old boy?

  • Man, Buck Rogers was rubbish. But it was space, and it was on TV, and that was enough for me.

  • Erin Gery was hot, I fancied her as a teen, hot , hot, hot!

  • @ALIVEUNALIVE bet it was those white pant she had dam hot hot hot lol

  • @ALIVEUNALIVE " Smoking......"

  • this isn't the original intro.. it didn't have the fuck wit THOM CHRISTOPHER in it.

  • I never could get why in the late 70s did the creators of this show think NASA would would already be at the END of deep space probe missions. We still haven't STARTED manned deep space probe missions.

  • I knew of the show, but visualizing Ryan Dunn in Jackass 3D as Buck Rodgers on that Duck Hunt stunt is hysterical.

  • Acch, second season...

  • You know what? Seeing the horrible state of science-fiction shows being aired today, Sy-Fy should revive Buck Rogers with a new series. But please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T FOLLOW THE LOUSY 2004 REMAKE OF GALACTICA. That was overly dramatic and intensely boring.

  • Silly silly silly - but GREAT FUN - sit back and ENJOY!

  • Jackass 3D "Duck Hunting" sent me here. And yes, Dunn did look like Buck Rogers travelling through time.

  • Erin Gray is so fuckin' hot , I would travel 5000 years into the future to hit that fine piece of ass

  • After seeing this I'm going to have to go play with a Nintendo Wii.

  • I got the whole series on DVD. Fan-tastic!!!!

  • @gabstanace2 me too, watched it again last weekend! Gil Gerard ftw :)

  • I liked the game on Colecovision, "Buck Rodgers and the planet of zoom".

  • The intro was more entertaining than the show.

  • Brought here by South Park :D

  • I dare NASA to name the next shuttles Ranger 1 - 3

  • Carlo Hesser?

  • I loved watching Buck Rogers.. the series was started with an original theatrical movie.the series was very true to the movie since all the actors were used to make the series... almost never happens.. (i.e. M*A*S*H, The Odd Couple, etc...) Every week was a cool adventure created without the use of Mac's and the boys at ILM.. very nice.

  • wow, this brings back memories!!

i even had the doll, with the spaceship.

  • "You look like Buck Rogers going through time"

  • Hollywood needs to do a"BUCK ROGERS" movie....

  • @cedshae4 no

  • @cedshae4 definitely not

  • @cedshae4 Glen Larson is bringing back Battlestar Galactica but not the way Ron Moore made it.He is keeping it the way he made it.If the feature film is a hit,FOX is interested in moving it over to their network to fill the void left by the X-Files.And they will give Larson complete control over his project including giving him the money for special effects.and we may see spinoff Battlestar episodes.

  • @Isotec1 ARE YOU SERIOUS!? That's the best piece of television news I've heard in the last 5 years! My God, I hope you're right. And hopefully FOX doesn't cancel it like they keep cancelling their game shows. I can't wait to see this on television if Glen is producing it! =D

  • I wish I could find the original theatrical version somewhere.

  • being an yr old kid when this show came out I liked it very much...but when they left earth and went on board the Searcher trying to do the Star Trek thing-and became allies with "hawkman"(a ripoff from Flash Gordon btw) The show really started to suck!

  • They should make a movie now, but make it awesome and not corny

  • BUTT FUCK ROGERS

  • @monkeynuts76 Butt Fuck Rogers will be the title of the Ronald D. Moore "Reimagined" series. takes balls to copy someone else's idea & call yourself Imaginative. Ron Moore never had an origanal Idea in his life.

  • @kdraper2007 WHAT THE SHIZ ARE U TALKING ABOUT?

  • Erin Gray was instant boner back in the day, in this and in Silver Spoons.

  • @greenbeaverfilms true that.. I'm in my mid 30s, and Buck Rogers' Erin Gray & Loni Anderson (a la' WKRP) were two of my first boner memories. peace

  • Nice to see they still wear mullets in the year 2491.

  • Don't see much of Erin Gray anymore.

  • I remember watching this on tv back in the DAY.

  • wow that girl is hot as fuck, bit of Jessica Alba

  • "Temperatures beyond imagination". Shouldn't that be BELOW imagination?

  • @menlovemyhairyclit actually, gil lost tons of weight from gastric bypass surgery. He looks much healthier now.

  • Wow, South Park brought me here too. Had forgotten all about this tune, but I loved it then and love it now - as pathetic as that sounds.

  • keep pushing number 2

    sounds like he's saying periods

  • C'mon...Erin Gray was smokin!

  • And the saddest part of the Buck Rogers show?

Buck never got to use the Nintendo Wii.

  • not to forget space 1999

  • the new narrator sounds like a superfriend voice, the old one was William Conrad.

  • And gosh DARN was Erin Gray hot!

  • SOME1 PLZ FREAKIN' REBOOT THIS ASAP...W/ JOHN MORRISON &/OR ALEX O'LAUGHOLIN AS BUCK...EITHER 1 WOULD OWN ALL...EXCEPT GIL GERARD'S...BUSTER CRABBE'S MAYBE...BUT GIL'S IS STILL "THE BUCK"...

  • Re-make soon in coming.

  • Jackass 3d:)

  • Was listening to Tesla's "Love Song" in the car, and during the intro my wife commented "you know, this is a really familiar sounding riff"... so I told her she was thinking of the old Buck Rogers theme, as the two are very close at one point. She didn't believe me, so I pulled up this page on youtube. Now she agrees. :-)

  • I say George Lucas should purchase the rights to the Buck Rogers series and come out with a whole new 3D extravaganza.

  • I wouldn't mind a remake of this show, but if they do, they NEED to keep the theme song!

  • lol South Park episode brought me here

  • i wont lie. anyone who really hates south park as much as you is either to old to understand its humor or just an angry parent that cant get their kid to stop watching. and even though my disagreement with you is very strong i respect your opinion anyway

  • i wont lie but anyone who really hates south park as much as you is either to old to understand its humor or just an angry parent that cant get their kid to stop watching. and even though my disagreement with you is very strong i respect your opinion anyway

  • yea im with the other guy south park has also brought me here..haha

  • wowjbeowulf..... niceone mate your hardcore, will ya mind zap me the instructions of how to get that all in one outfit of Erin, Cheers. dibby dibby dibby

  • The original Buck Rogers was a World War One and American captain on the European battlefields, who found a mysterious cave with some kind of foreign technology, or maybe magic event, and he was suspended to the 25th Century where Buck must battle enemies of the far future.

  • I believe a remake of Buck Rogers would do better with a pre-planned script of 5-years (5-seasons) for a total story with a beginning, a middle, and an end; and this should do better than attempting at an open ended hero moment that doesn't have defined enemies. Good show, I loved it, but it seemed short.

  • Buck Rogers in the Twenty-fifth Century, lack defined antagonists; you can see it in the movie, the sleeping astronaut surrounded by beautiful women in an eulogy of American space success; but the real super-heroes require super-villains, and we are just missing a defined mission or opponent on Buck Rogers, as the story meanders around. Buck Rogers needed a better Doctor Evil to defeat or clash each week.

  • Duck Dodgers

  • Wow, a lot of stuff 500 years from now look's shittier than the current things we have!!!

  • Erin Gray in those space suits was smoking hot..

  • @ace8842 You ain't lyin ace8842, what a goddess!

  • The thing about these titles is that it made the show look better than what it actually turned out to be.

  • He is a Captian, but always ordering a Colonel around

  • Anyone want a Buck Rogers/Eric Cartman crossover?

  • I won't lie,South Park brought me here.

  • @tapiaassasin same

  • @tapiaassasin

    Me 2. :-D

  • @tapiaassasin I won't lie. South Park is the most over-rated nonsense ever created and needs to be canceled immediately.

  • @southport97 To say South Park is overrated is to have never watched it. South Park is a brilliant show. 'Nuf said.

  • @southport97

That's your preference I guess.I personally like the show and was merely commenting that I was brought to this video through a certain south park episode that made reference to this show.

  • @southport97 I won't lie. That's your own personal opinion and doesn't actually carry any weight with others or the show.

But, smart ass reply aside, I respect your opinion. There are certain things about South Park I don't like, but I still find it quite enjoyable when I get the chance to watch it.

  • @tapiaassasin Yes! I wasn't the only one!

  • @tapiaassasin me too :)

  • @tapiaassasin I nearly died when we saw that South Park opening. Really really well done.

  • @tapiaassasin 2055!

  • @tapiaassasin

same here! i had to look up what the show was that it spoofed. they did a great job.

  • @tapiaassasin

funny iam 2 months behind u in time

  • @tapiaassasin lmao!

  • @tapiaassasin Hahahaha, brilliant.

  • @tapiaassasin I knew I seen it somewhere before when I seen it in southpark but its great to see what it came from

  • @tapiaassasin Yeah, im the same way, i was like I know they are making fun of something... so i did my research... lol, Freakin awesome

  • 500 years from now people will look back at this and laugh even harder than we do now. But you know what? They'll still find Erin Gray pretty hot.

  • I love how when it lifts off from the launch pad it's an old Apollo rocket yet somehow turn into a shuttlecraft when it reaches orbit. That's some technology they had in 1987.

  • Thumbs up if you know that South park parodied this opening in Go God Go

  • @liliphhh Bu b ub Ok Buck

  • Well, it was just after the 70s.

  • this is the best show ever

  • this was so darn kitsch it wasn't even funny. - And why did they build a little robot with a dick-head for a prime-time serial?

  • @zzzzzzozz lmao!! You hit the nail right on the head.

  • Bidi bidi bidi 0 Buck (as was Wilma) was QUITE good-looking...

  • 500 years later... and looking just like the disco era of the 20th century!

  • Only wish is that Erin Gray still looked as hot,,sadly she didnt age well :(

  • Was that REGIS PHILBIN TALKING !!!!!!!!

  • I remember the space vampire episode! You had to turn on every light in the house to destroy him!

  • south park yeah

  • HEY! WHY THE FUCK COULDN'T THAT HAPPEN TO ME?
