The Second Season should have kept the same cast and just introduced 2/3 episode story arcs to give everyone something to do . Instead they hire 100 year old wilfred hyde white who couldn't remember his lines
I hated the second season. They moved the character off of earth, and were trying too make it more Star Trekish. They also got rid of Mel Blanc has the voice of Twiggy. And someone else too do the opening narration. The first season was the best. I quit watching after Hawk was introduced. It could of been better.
@TheWolverine4life I heard the producers gave Gil Gerard too much creative control over his character. And the storyline too. I definately think that was a mistake, he was making a ton of money, and if he didn't like a storyline, he threatened too walk. I feel most actors, then and now, would be greatful just too have a job.
this is the intro to the 2nd season, sorry to sound like hater but the 2nd season of Buck Rogers totally sucked, that whole "searching for the lost tribes of earth" thing was totally lame. (BattleStar Galactica anyone?) and even adding a cool character like Hawk couldn't save it. and don't get me started on Chrighton,...the original Jar-Jar Binks before there he ever spring from George Lucas's mind.
Funny, I don't remember a manned deep space probe launched in 1987. Must have been a secret military mission. But seriously, this show was on the air in, what? 1980? you would have thought they could have set the date of his space mission more than 7 years in the future.
Nice work. Click on my channel to see my 80's nostalgic collections; "80's TV Show Openings", "80's Saturday Morning Cartoons", "80's WWF Wrestling" and a "John Hughes Tribute"
ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES! Erin Grey, Lynda Carter and Catherine Bach were the women that made me realize my man parts were for more than just pissin out of.....
I never could get why in the late 70s did the creators of this show think NASA would would already be at the END of deep space probe missions. We still haven't STARTED manned deep space probe missions.
You know what? Seeing the horrible state of science-fiction shows being aired today, Sy-Fy should revive Buck Rogers with a new series. But please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T FOLLOW THE LOUSY 2004 REMAKE OF GALACTICA. That was overly dramatic and intensely boring.
I loved watching Buck Rogers.. the series was started with an original theatrical movie.the series was very true to the movie since all the actors were used to make the series... almost never happens.. (i.e. M*A*S*H, The Odd Couple, etc...) Every week was a cool adventure created without the use of Mac's and the boys at ILM.. very nice.
@cedshae4 Glen Larson is bringing back Battlestar Galactica but not the way Ron Moore made it.He is keeping it the way he made it.If the feature film is a hit,FOX is interested in moving it over to their network to fill the void left by the X-Files.And they will give Larson complete control over his project including giving him the money for special effects.and we may see spinoff Battlestar episodes.

The original Buck Rogers was a World War One and American captain on the European battlefields, who found a mysterious cave with some kind of foreign technology, or maybe magic event, and he was suspended to the 25th Century where Buck must battle enemies of the far future.
I believe a remake of Buck Rogers would do better with a pre-planned script of 5-years (5-seasons) for a total story with a beginning, a middle, and an end; and this should do better than attempting at an open ended hero moment that doesn't have defined enemies. Good show, I loved it, but it seemed short.
Buck Rogers in the Twenty-fifth Century, lack defined antagonists; you can see it in the movie, the sleeping astronaut surrounded by beautiful women in an eulogy of American space success; but the real super-heroes require super-villains, and we are just missing a defined mission or opponent on Buck Rogers, as the story meanders around. Buck Rogers needed a better Doctor Evil to defeat or clash each week.
That's your preference I guess.I personally like the show and was merely commenting that I was brought to this video through a certain south park episode that made reference to this show.
@southport97 I won't lie. That's your own personal opinion and doesn't actually carry any weight with others or the show.
But, smart ass reply aside, I respect your opinion. There are certain things about South Park I don't like, but I still find it quite enjoyable when I get the chance to watch it.
I love how when it lifts off from the launch pad it's an old Apollo rocket yet somehow turn into a shuttlecraft when it reaches orbit. That's some technology they had in 1987.
