  • Could you or did you do Galveston TX, please?

  • @drummerlead

Don't see myself getting out that way anytime soon, but you can check out another fellow roadgeek who has videos from all over the "Lone Star State": ScrewdUPClickV2 .

  • could you do mt a huge favor, could you record a trip down seal ave especially the aprtments at 188 seal ave. its where i used to live :D it be so awesome to see it again

  • Don't know if I'll be going back anytime soon or if I'll be going down that street.

  • Thanks for the tour, haven't been back to Biloxi since 2002. This brings back memories of me hitting every casino in the area. I thought it would look a lot worse after Katrina.

  • Welcome you are.

MDOT and the casinos have done a good job in improving the area since Katrina.

  • As well as the local cities and counties.

  • nice tour!!

Seems a good site for the summer vacations.

  • Yep, there's lots of beaches.

  • Loved the drive, and not just the drainage is bad on that last road you drove, but the dips after the bridges are equally awful! Great video, and I need to rewatch it at some point while following a Google Map.

What casino and resort did you pass at the intersection of Caillavet and US 90?

  • Glad that you enjoyed the ride.

Yeah, that first car almost went airborne on that first dip (lol). The speed limit on that road's only 30 mph, and I see why. :-D

That casino was the Beau Rivage.

  • That's what I was thinking the casino was! Maybe one day, I'll make it off I-10(unfortunately have only traveled through that area once, and it was en route to New Orleans along I-10), and see some of the actual communities in that region.

Do you think the communities in that area have recovered well from Katrina? Or is there still a noticeable amount of decreased operational businesses, versus pre-Katrina? I know Amtrak unfortunately used Katrina as an excuse to not restore train service.

  • The Beau Rivage is pretty much in the dead-end of the I-110 freeway spur.

The area's recovering. There's still a few areas that haven't recovered as much.

  • Very interesting drive. Nice job.

  • Thanks.
