  • God bless Peter Hitchens!

  • no god - no rage against him possible. my rage is against stupidity

  • It's funny to see that those who follow Peter watch or read little on what Christopher did or said. On the contrary, those who -sorry to say this- idolise Christopher (following a certain type of religious cult around him) always care about what Peter says or does. Isn't it ironic?

  • @chirectomy Sorry, I disagree. I think the way Christopher Hitchens spoke about Jerry Falwell when he died was absoulutely diobolical. Not even any regards for the man's grieving family either. He needs to repent.

  • Nice one! Peter Hitchens is definately one of my favourite persons at the moment. Witty, articulate, sincere, truthful, intelligent, courageous. The list goes on and on. We need to see and hear more and more of this man in these days. For those of you who may not know he has a blog he does on the Mail Online.

  • "Intolerant"...good word Peter. To whom or what does it apply?

  • Genuine nice and moral guy!

  • That video got me by surprise. I were expecting the usual cheesy testimony. You know what I'm talking about.

  • yeah peter, atheists are enraged, by people like you who self project the results of your own twisted morality on them

sounds like you grew up thinking all things righteous are godly, & then when u rejected the idea of god you thought that meant rejecting anything righteous so you became a dick?

if so congratulations, now your being a condescending dick that thinks everyone is as morally broken as u are & they need correcting by the same thing that twisted your sense of morality to begin with

  • @gta747 and new atheists aren't condescending dicks to religious people? Get real buddy. I think you need to stop chilling with tha spaggetti monster

  • What i love about atheism is that they always attack christianity, so is there something superior about judaism or islam or buddhism?

  • Super epic!!

    <3

  • The guy in this video is incredibly stupid.

  • @Idlemindswander

I guess it runs in the family?

You made a very poor Ad Hominem... You lose 10 points...

  • @Funkyflorist My ad hominem attack is better than the one the guy in the video uses against atheists. But I will admit, it's not on par with your ad hominem attack on my family. Therefore I humbly submit to your god, but not to the god of the guy in the video.

  • @Idlemindswander

    You misunderstand...

My quote of; "I guess it runs in the family?" Is in context to *Hitchens, not yourself...

It is a stab at the fact that "the guy in the video" is the brother of Christopher Hitchens.

  • @Funkyflorist Yes, that would make more sense. In the video he says atheists are arrogant, and resistant to any type of outside argument. I rather think atheists are quite willing to look at the actual evidence for anything. Its our unwillingness to accept anything but evidence that he has a problem with.

  • @Idlemindswander Why? I think you just proved his point.

  • @CarlosMarti123 It was just a joke. I don't submit to anything. I've spend so much time debating theists on youtube I've come to the conclusion that all it does is further entrench people in their own beliefs. By the way what point did I prove? I thought I was just making an assine comment.

  • @Idlemindswander I'd think the same about atheists.

I'll quote though: "A young man who wishes to remain a sound Atheist cannot be too careful of his reading." I welcome you to start examining the actual evidence, not the atheists.

  • @CarlosMarti123 The actual evidence? I was a Christian for 30 years. I studied the evidence in an attempt to better prove my religion. When I found the evidence lacking, I became an athiest.

  • @Idlemindswander .... what proof do you need beyond the fact that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, that whilst we were still sinners Christ died, becoming sin for us....... what evidence do you need to study beyond our own failings as fallen man. You dont have to teach a child to lie, the opposite it true. The evidence is right before your eyes as you look in the mirror, the proof is the changed heart of a person that has truly accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour .....

  • @scaridia You are presupposing that a perfect god exists. You are then comparing human actions to this god and of course we come up short. But you don’t have any evidence that this god actually exists. You say the evidence is in the changed heart of the Christian. You haven't taken an honest look at the Christian community have you. Many are as dishonest as any group of people you could point to. Cont..

  • @scaridia ...Cont . Just look at how Christians are willing to deny the obvious evidence about the real age of the earth just so they can continue believing in the 6000 year old earth fairly tale.

  • @scaridia Nicely put!

  • @CarlosMarti123 If I made a video, I would be quite suprised if someone watched at all. And I hear that I am quite stupid all the time. You should talk to my boss .Sorry, just another assinine comment, to much alcohol, and too much demonic influence I guess?

  • Hahaha! Atheists are angry at "god" in the same way Christians are angry at Zeus and Vishnu. The thought of being angry at something you don't have a belief in is just absurd! The stupidity behind this reasoning is what I hate, not the judeo-christian imaginary magic-man.

Those silly, delusional, egotistical theists. :D

  • @oathkeeper27

So you hate people because you think they're stupid? And you think they're stupid because they have a faith you don't understand because if you did you wouldn't refer to god as an "imaginary magic-man" as he maybe imaginary in the sense that you don't believe it, but the christian god is neither magical nor a man. Anyways it's atheists like you who make other atheists look bad, you're like the pat robertson of atheists; a complete tit who has no idea what he's talking about.

  • @Jim1905 "The thought of being angry at something you don't have a belief in is just absurd! The stupidity behind this reasoning is what I hate", whether the man withholding this reason is an Atheist, Theist, or fairy.

Firstly, if someone's going to insult me, they should at least correctly read what I've written.

Secondly, the bible reads that god created everything out of nothing, so please define this under another term other than "magic", if you are able.

  • @Jim1905 And thirdly, the bible also reads that man was created "in [god's] image", hence why every depiction of the Judeo-Christian god resembles that of a man.

It's those like you that personify all I despise in Christianity and nearly all organized religion: you are quick to lash out at others simply for denying or critiquing your beliefs, you blindly disregard what others say, you seldom support what *you* say with evidence, and you hardly even know your own religion's holy text and history

  • @majewskproductions

I'm glad you think the holocaust is a laughing matter. Seeing as tho you're a member of the Church that supported Hitler, and even want to join that vile organisation as a Priest yourself, I expect little else.

  • I feel slightly sorry for poor old Peter. If I had a big brother who was a genius I'd have an inferiority complex as well. He's had to grit his teeth and listen to the constant stream of accolades his brother accumulates. This must be very frustrating for him.

  • This makes about as much sense as "The Rage Against Bigfoot"..... or the Loch Ness Monster, or unicorns, or the Easter Bunny, or Leprechauns, or the Boogeyman.... The title "Rage Against God" is an offensive title because Atheists know god is man-made, and not real. How do you rage against something that is fake? Delusional kook.

  • SHALOM JESUS IS LIVE AND JESUS LOVE YOU

  • I'm all astonishment. He says that we atheists are Intolerant and totalitarian nature? And Judaism, Islam, Christianity is not?

You might have burned your bible when you were young but you clearly never understood why you burned it in the first place. You're like a spoilt child which, having run away for a while, returned to the safety of the paterinity which is religion.

You don't need a brain to be religious so I hope you have jettisoned it. It will only get in the way!

  • @TosserHitchens You're so sad and pathetic that you're pretending to be somebody else? What does that say about your own sorry existence? You're not Christopher, you are Gallus1, sorry to break that to you if you were not already aware.

  • @LBGreenwood "Obvious to even a slightly reflective person that this is the case." & "Undefeated heavyweight champions of all three of those characteristics- Judeo-Christian religions".

You *are* joking, right? Your speaking rather hypocritically you know. Would you care to actually Review what he's written and said, then defend your opinion? I believed both of the Hitchenses were rather dull, but when I actually read their work, I came to hold both of them in high esteem.

  • @LBGreenwood Well, that's a rather sorry ad hominem. It's your view to hold of course, though your view of the man seems to be based on preconceptions that make you appear to be rather haughty (and judgemental).

  • true Atheism is a lack of belief in a god, that's why the biggest genocides were caused by atheists, because of their lack of belief in a god

  • @IloveYOUviruses

Both the Nazis and the Rwandans were almost all Christian.

Also, I take it that the Christian God is an atheist then? afterall he, according to the Bible, killed off the *entire world*. And what about the Israelites who, according to the Bible, were, shall we say, fans of ethnic cleansing? were they atheist also? Supposedly they were following God's command...

  • @RPFS2008 Do you believe that Hittler was a Christian? Do you know what a Christian ought to do? Do you even know the fruits of the Holy Spirit?

Im sorry my friend, but someone who doesn't even try to love the enemy is not a Christian, please don't be fooled, not even the pope is a Christian, if he were, he would sell his castle and give the money to the poors, you know that don't you?

Besides, who said that nazis made the top 1 genocide in human history?

  • @IloveYOUviruses

Do you believe that you're a Christian?

"Besides, who said that nazis made the top 1 genocide in human history?"

No me. In your version of history that 'accomplishment' goes to your god.

  • @RPFS2008 Chinese communists killed 80 million people, then the soviet union with 26 million and then the National socialists with 6 million.

all these socialists have caused over 100 million deaths.

  • @MrGilles1990

Well Christianity caused the Holocaust but, yes, state communism and collectivism will eventually lead to mass starvation, gulags etc. I wouldn't deny that.

  • @RPFS2008 "Christianity led to the holocaust" got any evidence to back that up with?

    National SOCIALISM caused the holocaust.

  • @MrGilles1990

Oh, only centuries of Christian led hatred of "Christ killers". Not even serious apologists for Christianity deny the foundational link between Christianity and the Holocaust.

If you want to blame hatred of Jews on socialism, as horrible a system as it is, then do so but don't expect to be taken seriously.

  • @RPFS2008 The Church was one of the Biggest oppositions to the national socialist's or any other socialist's for that matter.

    Go read a history book.

    Anyway the Romans killed Christ.

  • @MrGilles1990

"The Church was one of the Biggest oppositions to the national socialist's or any other socialist's for that matter.

    Go read a history book.

    Anyway the Romans killed Christ."

You owe it to yourself to look into the history of the Catholic Church and Nazism.

Christianity has a long history of Anti-Semitism and the connection between Martin Luther's writings and Hitler is there for all to see.

As for Jesus' death, the Bible clearly paints the Jews as major culprits.

  • @RPFS2008 Jesus was a Jew, his disciples are Jews Christians are mainly Jews.

Where in the Bible does it say that Jews killed Christ? Nowhere, just lies.

Hitler was an atheist. We Christians are just Jews who believe Christ is gods son.

Communism killed over 30 million Christians, but do i say that all atheists want the annihilation of Christian peoples? No

  • @MrGilles1990

I'm not going to argue with you ad nauseam. Look up "Jewish Deicide". You call yourself a Christian and yet you seem oblivious to the history surrounding Jesus' death. I know that most self described Christians have never read the Bible cover to cover but this is just silly.

    Hitler was a Roman Catholic.

And I never even hinted that all Christians want to annihilate Jews. I only pointed out the fact that the anti-Semitic history of Christianity led to the Holocaust.

  • @RPFS2008

Not to intrude but Hitler was not a catholic. He used christianity as tool to gain power and to not make too many enemies in his rise to power. But once he was in power it became clear that he was obviously not a catholic, as Mein Kampf was now regarded in the same way as the bible once was. Further nothing can really be drawn from this as Atheists have had there share of blood shed as well.

  • @Jim1905

He certainly was a catholic. How long he believed in it is up for speculation but his persecution of the Jews was hardly a reason to think that he was "obviously not a catholic". Catholicism/Christianity and Jewish persecution, for explicit religious reasons, have gone hand in hand for many, many centuries prior.

  • @RPFS2008 In the political relations with the churches in Germany however, Hitler readily adopted a strategy "that suited his immediate political purposes". Hitler had a general plan, even before the rise of the Nazis to power, to destroy Christianity within the Reich.

  • @RPFS2008 The leader of the Hitler Youth stated "the destruction of Christianity was explicitly recognized as a purpose of the National Socialist movement" from the start, but "considerations of expedience made it impossible" publicly to express this extreme position. His intention was to wait until the war was over to destroy the influence of Christianity.

  • By 1940, it was public knowledge that Hitler had abandoned advocating for Germans even the syncretist idea of a positive Christianity. Hitler maintained that the "terrorism in religion is, to put it briefly, of a Jewish dogma, which Christianity has universalized and whose effect is to sow trouble and confusion in men's minds." Hitler once stated, "We do not want any other god than Germany itself. It is essential to have fanatical faith and hope and love in and for Germany."

  • @CarlosMarti123

In 1941 Hitler stated "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so"

This is superfluous to the main point that was argued anyway.

  • @RPFS2008 Hitler rejected Christianity, genius.

"National Socialism and religion cannot exist together.... The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity..."

    answers(.)org/apologetics/hitquote(.)html

  • @CarlosMarti123

Whether or not he did is, as I have already pointed out, pretty much irrelevant to the point.

  • @RPFS2008 And then... your point was?

Just correcting your ignorance on the issue of Hitler 'being Christian' :)

  • @CarlosMarti123

He was a Christian. Catholic to be precise. How long he remained so is debatable but, if you read up, it's not the point of the discussion.

  • @RPFS2008 You either a) didn't read or b) avoided the first question.

  • @CarlosMarti123

On the contrary I told you to read up ^ to see the point being argued.

  • @RPFS2008 What, that Christians have done bad things? Big news.

Shall we take Pol Pot as an example too? Stalin? Mao? Anyone else of the like?

  • @CarlosMarti123

    Try again

  • @RPFS2008 I don't think you have a point :)

  • @CarlosMarti123

I've already had to repeat myself for you more than once. If you have read up through the discussion and come away from it thinking that my point was that "some Christians have done bad things" then repeating myself yet again is not going to benefit either of us.

    Think what you like.

  • @RPFS2008 Well, you're certainly showing reluctance to state your non-existent point.

    Kudos :P

  • @RPFS2008

    He was also a liar....

You think he would be honest about his religion when he is willing to tear apart treaties?

Hitler made plans to DESTROY the Catholic church and replace it with his own religion, he had facilities built to train his own clergy...

Just as you would put criteria for a person to be a doctor or a scientist, simply titling yourself as such will not suffice...

Its a pity that even after all these years you are still being duped by Hitler...

  • @RPFS2008

He made this comment in private... And just so you know... Hitler was a L I A R...

He would make plans to break a treaty even before he signed it...

If Hitler was a 'christian' why would he plan to destroy it?

  • pitiful

  • true Atheism is a lack of belief in a god,but promoting lack of belief and dismissing people just because they believe in god,is missionary and fundamentalist, only without the savage aspect like islam has and past Christianity use to have.a true atheist shows indifference to any religious traditions just as a ganjas worshiper hindu is indifferent to jewish Sabbath candle lighting and vise versa.as long as religion in the west(exept islam)is separated from state, whats the fuss about?

  • Tremendous book. Very profound, timely, relevant and well-written. I finished it a few weeks ago, and highly recommend it to thinkers on both sides of the issue.

  • As i have just proven, One good schoolmaster is of more use than a hundred priests. But hey, its just the kinda guy i am, dont applaud, throw money.

  • @gallus1 Every school master was a priest dickwad! Harvard University was founded by a pastor "John Harvard" for the sake of training ministers. William & Mary was founded for the sake of training ministers. Yale was founded by 10 ministers because Harvard was becoming too secular. Princeton was founded by ministers for the sole reason to train ministers. etc... Ever wonder why Americans have become sooo dumb??? Now you know kid!

  • @nef2442 You're hurting scumbag.... relax, accept the lesson freely given. We atheists dont care what doctrine u belong to, we wont send you to hell for being the wrong type of christian......our objective morality is much finer than that evil fucker you imagne. ;o)

  • @gallus1 its funny how you don't reply to any of my arguments you just call me names. Either your are 13 yrs old or purely an ignoramus!

  • @nef2442 Whats funny is your inability to read the answer. I dont call you names so much as define your vacant intellect. 'Fuckwit' sums you up pretty well.....if i think of a more apt definition you can be sure i'll let you know.

PS....It is no accident that the symbol of a bishop is a crook, and the sign of an archbishop is a double-cross.

PPS..."No falsehood is so fatal as that which is made an article of faith."

    Thomas Paine.

PPPS...keep your hands off the children.

    GTF, scumbag

  • To describe this book as a piece of crap would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental.

  • @gallus1 Your review of this book is moot. As an atheist you don't believe in objective truth. You are a relativist, which means, this "crap" book may be ambrosial for someone else. So by your own standard, your argument self-destructs!!!

  • @nef2442 Since you brought the great man into the conversation, here is his view on the gospel history

of Jesus...'a groundwork of vulgar ignorance, of things impossible,

    of superstitions, fanaticism, and fabrications"

Yup, the very man you glorified thought your (or at least one of his personalities) wasnot a christia, and said so. Any notion of a creator Jefferson imagined, was purely deistic and non-personal. THAT lesson was free too. ;o)

  • The character of God would stand vastly higher in human

estimation if he had visited the garden in which he had placed the

first human pair and picked up the serpent and cast him over the

garden wall before he had a chance to tempt Eve, instead of waiting

until the mischief was done, and then cursing the whole lot for

what he might so easily have prevented.

  • @gallus1 I love how you people who have absolutely no education on theology pretend to play God. I don't see you trolling on histology videos, or the discipline of physics! Why? Only in the field of Theology do people who know absolutely nothing about the discipline, feel like they know something about it. Especially when they regurgitate nonsense that they borrow from libtards who have an equivalent degree of proficiency on the subject!

  • @nef2442 As always, you are the best defence of the atheist argument. You may wish to push it from ur moronic mind, but every time you refuse to stone the homosexual you disobey your imaginary fiend. It is His words not mine that condemn YOU to be stoned for that disobedience. Again, find someone who can read and listen to ur evil monsters own words. You'll not like what you hear, but please, dont shoot the messenger, take it up with your beast.....AND LEAVE THE CHILDREN ALONE.

  • @gallus1 Dude the atheists have more blood on their hands then Christianity and Judaism combined! I'll make it more clear, in the 20th century alone (the last 100 years) Atheism has spilled more blood, than Christianity and Judaism combined since their inception (4,000 years ago). Atheist regimes have killed more than 100 million people in a century. That's more than Christianity and Judaism combined in 4000 yrs!

You are entitled to your own opinions, but not to your own facts!

  • Comment removed

  • @BalzacCinema "marry your daughter off to her rapist" "Deuteronomy 22:28-29" Was a law handed to Moses by God for the children of Israel. Remember we are talking about a bronze age nation of people ruled by a priesthood. In order to keep small nation of ex-slaves in line, stiff laws were applied. Deut. states, Israelite Adultery will get u stoned. If a single Israelite man rapes a married Israelite woman (he dies).Israelites that rapes an Israelite virgin will pay a hefty fine and marry her!

  • Totalitarian nature?! Christianity is itself the origin of the totalitarian principle to begin with.

Arrogant? Who's the absolutest here? Are atheists that involve themselves with absolutism or Christians? Peter Hitchens is a fucking joke.

  • @darkillity

Wrong! Totalitarianism is a secular idea, and embraced by atheist tyrants like Stalin and Hitler. Your hatred of God is simply rebellion against the truth; you live under sin by foolish choice. Examine your retched soul; admit you are lying to yourself in order to feel good about your sin. Jesus Christ can redeem you if you let Him.

  • @Texasvet1 And I'll be departed into everlasting fire if I don't. Not to mention the other 5 billion people in the world who aren't Christian. Not only is this totalitarianism (10th commandment), but fascist at best.

  • @darkillity God will not send you to hell, you will send yourself(along with everyone else) for rejecting Gods free gift.It won't be God's fault...Everyone will be held accountable...Eternity is not something to be taken lightly.

  • Peter Hitchens proves once again why he is one of the most insightful and important commentators active in the English-Speaking world.

  • "...self satisfied, arrogant, intolerant, completely resistant to any kind of outside argument and contemptuous of it."

    .

Peter can't be serious, offering this marvelous description of Christianity as a criticism of atheism? Who's side is he on?

    .

I have been monitoring Peter for a few days now and his "argument" never goes beyond value judgments in favour of his faith and against nonbelievers. That's it. He claims a Christian monopoly on the source of decency and happiness. Arrogance anyone?

  • This guy is depressing.

  • @BalzacCinema Jesus said , "The Sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath" (Mark 2:27). So the Bible gives you the freedom to work every Sabbath if you like. Forbiddance of Adultery covers rape. forbiddance of fornication covers rape, forbiddance covetousness covers rape. If a man follows the Ten Commandments and does not Fornicate, Commit Adultery, or Covet, it will be impossible to commit a rape. In a system that is inconsistent with these principles, rape will be most prevalent.

  • @nef2442 You rationalizing prick....READ THE EVIL BOOK AGAIN...or rather, read it for the first time. Not only does the comic DEMAND you stone gays, it demands YOU be stoned if you refuse to obey the order. You filthy lying prick. Dont forget to stone the rape victim who fails to scream loud enough....this is unequivocal laws of your evil beast. Only the stultified can see the Comic as anything but bronze-age ignorance as philosophy

  • @gallus1 "he who has not sinned cast the first stone" Read that part of the Bible the New Testament/ New Covenant between God and Man. He sent His only begotten Son that whosever believes in Him should not perish but have ever lasting life.

The stoning of homosexuals, was written in the Iron age. Name me one culture in antiquity that did not stone homosexuals, the Assyrians, did it, the Greeks, the Romans etc. Even in America gay men were castrated (a law written by Thomas Jefferson).

  • @nef2442 You're making my point for me. The stoning of homosexuals was written by the inspiration of your evil beast, Both in old and new testaments. So christian, tell me, by what authority do you disobey YOUR evil monsters commands......your life is forfeit for refusal. But it matters not when these barbaric bronze-age laws were issued from the blood-thirsty fiend. It his his laws ...or is (unchanging) god not up with the moral zietgiest.

  • @nef2442 Jesus' biblical decendents practiced child-rape. Ur imaginary fiend is supposed to be all loving, just, omnipotent, omnicient, etc....yet his morals dont come close to todays average. A slaver, a sexist, a genocidal and infanticidal killer a torturer, and homophobic blood luster (his words)et al. And the best u can do is to tell us some communist madman was worse? Stalin wore a moustache, this does not make a hairy lip a clue as to one's mental state.

  • @gallus1 Stalin followed the communist manifesto, which dictates the abolition of religion from society. That means atheism was one of the premier tenets of any Communist's regime. Under the banner of Atheistic regimes there has been a slaughter committed against humanity that is unparalleled in history. 100 million human beings and still counting!

  • @nef2442 The abolition of religion does not equate to atheism being the cause of Stalin's slaughter. If this was so then Sweden, Denmark would be of the same ilk. As it is, these are the most atheistic nations with the least crime, etc. Your claim is a logical fallacy. You need to add something to mear disbelief before you get an ideology. IE, theism, political ideologies.

  • @BalzacCinema It it wasn't for the Sabbath laws, proletariat monkeys like yourself would never have had a day off. Other cultures, like Roman & Greek cultures never had a day of rest. In the capitalist system that developed in the west your ass wouldn't even be trolling on youtube right now. Cause your masters' would be slaving you right now. Thanks to Sabbath laws our culture inherited a code for rest after a week's long work.

  • Such an intelligent man. And yet so stupid both at the same time. Why? Anyone who believes in talking snakes and donkeys, and magic and miracles, and the dead rising, and dinosaurs living on the ark, need to come back to reality!

Shows how corroded his brain is by religion.

  • Too much hate. I know it's difficult to understand new reflections about oneself. I didn't twist anything, rather showed you what you were leaving out, which has consequences you fail to grasp. Oh no, something beyond your control, scary right? I'm not scared that God isn't under my control, He's sovereign over the universe, I'm just another beloved person. God is technically too great to be proven through a lab. Calling me delusional is worth nothing, I'm even the one who's a psychologist here.

  • @Portubed And we know why God is 'technically too great to be proven in a lab" ...dont we? Perhaps its the only response you're able to rationalize in your own 'psychologist' mind that allows you to hold on to the myth. The invisible and the non-existant are particulary alike. Islam, Hinduism, and even most other Christian denominations are anathema to each. If i was ever converted, there'd still be billions of theists who'd tell me i was going to hell. Fools, gullible fools.

  • @Portubed ...and many of them would feel it their duty to send me there. A particularly theistic trait. God B.less

  • @gallus1 Yes if you can't accept that the Creator of the Universe is too great, meaning too transcendent or metaphysical, not to be tested as part of controllable variables, you lack the use of reason, not just faith. Anyone who had "faith" in a provable God would be wrong, rationally wrong. There are many invisible things particular to the human spirit that are essential to our living and even essential for the scientific method (such as expecting things to be repeatable and ordered).

  • @Portubed What you said, in the words of another more rational Hitchens, is 'white-noise'. Further, in the words of your imaginary fairy's book, it is asked that you 'test' and discern the qualities of it. Further still.....faith in any circumstance must have a basis. Without it, it is blind and foolish. You attempt to create an unfalsifiable entity to justify your neediness. The invisible and the imaginary are very alike.

  • @gallus1 I think that what's foolish here is your own staggering noise, repeating your little quotes time and time again, babbling on about who's more rational without ever attempting to amaze me with your brilliance (you seem rather witless and subservient, owing everything to someone else who made your argument for you - so much for skepticism), failing to tackle what I actually say and trying to tell me it just doesn't make sense to you. Well tough luck buddy, think about it a while longer.

  • @Portubed More white-noise. And a stultifyingly inane attempt to imply i didn't say 'why' as opposed to assert. YOUR evil entity's book refutes YOUR idiotic 'faith'. It is of course a necessary requirement that the theist must give up reason in order to maintain the illusion, thus logic goes over your thick skull. Still, thats not to say there is no merit in having you spout your foolishness.....each time you and your ilk open your mouths you prove me right.

  • @Portubed PS...have you killed any sabbath workers, Homosexuals, raped virgins lately? If not, I'd really like to know why since refusal is disobedience of your blood-lusting beast.

Remembering that Jesus came not to change a dot but fullfil the 'law' .

PPS..... The punishment for disobedience of the above commands is your own death. I guess god sent me to inform you so as to save you huh. He works in mysterious ways.

  • @Portubed I must apologize.....in the case of the raped virgin, your duty is not to stone her if she was raped outwith the city. The logic of your brilliant god being that she may have screamed and no one heard. Further proof of God's justice and compassion is that she is compelled to marry her rapist in order to maintain her honor. He's a class act, your God. huh

  • @Portubed Keep your evil imaginary fiend to yourself. Especially refrain from poisoning the innocent child with these evils. If you have confidence in your monstrous beast then you'll allow the child's mind to mature unfettered before the horror stories begin. If they then choose to throw logic and reason away then fine.....but give them a chance. Alas, i know well enough its ur best weapon to decieve. Get ye behind me theist...begone!

  • @gallus1 "Huh", did you really have to ramble on all that much? Seems you enjoy going really far and bully others. You sound as if you had to punish others for something that actually happened to you, since I wouldn't think you'd come up with all that lightly. You and I are all weak, and it's ok, relax. I hope you do realize that "theists" will never ever be gone so before you become a real murderer, I'd ask you to strive for inner peace. Noone really believes in the things you said. God bless

  • @Portubed I always know when i have the theist fucked when they come back with excretions like yours. You also reveal your own lack of knowledge of this imaginary evil fairy.....which is just as well as you'd then have to face up to the fact you're going to rot away just like everyone else who ever lived. Now theist, take your witchcraft and child indoctrination evils to hell...go on, get to fuck you evil peddling moron. God B.Less

  • @gallus1 Nope, there's just not much I could say that wouldn't be distorted in your wounded heart so far from the redeeming grace of Christ. Take care and try not to be too cruel towards others by sharing your own misery with them.

  • @Portubed PPS....your angst is palpable.....hilarious. haw haw haw

  • @gallus1 Watch out for "feeling things as palpable" when they don't really exist. Some spiritual wisdom for you. I'm trying to tell you that you don't really seem curious enough to learn more, and are exceedingly agressive for no reason. It is obvious to me you do this for laughs but don't look so smug just yet, you've barely done any type of harm other than show off your ignorance and eagerness to parrot insults. Should you bother with biblical hermeneutics, I could assist. Till then, do rest.

  • @Portubed Your trying hard to transfer your angst and hurt and thats understandable, but let it go, you'll go blind .....or something.

I feel your pain and know that you prefer a conspiracy theory to no theory but even thick stultifyingly fools like yourself realize that they are in a hole, and eventually stop digging. Ok so you've invested a life=time in a fairy-tale and its hard to accept, but hey, think how free you'll be when the virus is dead. Happy days! ;o)

  • @gallus1 ... Nope, happily not trying to transfer anything here. As I've told you it doesn't take great mental gymnastics to look at the Bible as something more than what meets the eye in a literal sense. One would hope people are smarter than that, but instead of trying to understand you seek only to further your immense ignorance on the subject by stomping others with your lack of discernement. Are you surprised it's not working? ;o)))))) I think about faith every day. You're the prisoner.

  • @Portubed Tell you what, lets put your God 's book and promise to use. If you dont know the passage then i'll happily supply it to you...on request. So, the Son...or is it the Father...or the is it the ghoul....not sure exactly since he changes his mind who he is at differing times. Anyway, one of them says that if you pray sincerely and honestly, He (they?) will grant the prayer's request. (even to the extent of moving a mountain into the sea!).

  • @Portubed I'll not expect anything quite so dramatic but i will pray along with you tonight. All i ask is, if you have the grace to help a wretch such as me, to pray for my eyes to be open to the one true god. God will know what it takes to make me see the light. I dont ask that he appears in my company but i'm sure, given his omniscience, can release me from my ignorance. I'll declare the resultant epiphany asap. cant say fairer than that.

  • @Portubed You may think you are just another beloved person in the eyes of your imaginary friend.... but if you fail to stone the homosexual, the worker of the sabbath or the raped virgin then you are gonna feel some heat. Thats His words not mine. Thats how much you are 'beloved'. He does 'love the smell of blood' so anything to please Him huh ;o) You stultifyingly moronic prick. God B. Less

    PS...have a good day.

  • @Portubed That you felt the need to say you were a psychologist gave you away. Not merely deluded but Imbecile too. Get Behind me ;o)

  • @gallus1 First of all, I can't really recall the context where I mentioned psychology so it can't be as important as you put it. I also am not into getting behind people, sorry. Thirdly, I don't believe you're a wretch either. I believe that you and the world are good and can discern the truth, the premise with which Christianity gave birth to modern science. Now, as for the relevant points you raise, I hope that if you are sincere enough you seek and read more. God is gentler than that though.

  • @Portubed Obscurantist asinine claptrap....and unsurprisingly renegue a supposedly christian duty. At least the Islamists mean what they say. Get behind me theist, i denounce your witchcraft and its evils...begone.

  • @gallus1 You denounce what?... Oh ok, this is just random name calling, not a real discussion, I see where you're coming from now. What christian duty are you talking about? Still, I could recommend very mind opening books about the subject of prayer. But the main idea is: you don't use prayer to make God do what you want, but rather to accept His will better while expressing your desires, questions and adoration. What do you mean by the Islamists meaning what they say? Go get some hugs too.

  • @Portubed Perhaps telling you straight may work better. Fuck off. Take your evil religious teachings with you. Be happy those who use logic, reason and human decency dont treat you as the religious have historically treated not only those who dont believe the evil doctrines, but those who pedal a differentone. Your inane bull-shit is the best argument against the murderous bastard you worship. Amen.

  • @gallus1 You have no right nor reason in telling Christians, in particular, of how evil their influence is. You're just another ignorant, violent bigot bent on destroying things that oppose his conscience. You couldn't be hardly any more fundamentally wrong about your views of history (look for pagan cultures, the continental Enlightenments and at the godless 20th century for the greatest wars and attrocities). With so much intellectual crap you believe in, it's pretty hard to talk about God.

  • @Portubed You fuck-witted prick. The RC Church was Hitlers Bitch...similarly Fascist Spain. I have every right to denounce the evils of the Abrahamic religion's slaughters. You filthy revisionist bastard. Learn something without the brainwashing influence of your church or the fear of thought-crime punishment from that torturing fucker yahweh. Atheist dont kill for atheist non-belief. You fuckers glorify in that crime. Now do as i tell you...fuck off you evil bastard.

  • @gallus1 Well there you go, your careless misunderstandings buying into all sorts of uninformed soundbite over complex historical events that found entire nations bewitched. Yes, atheists kill all the time. Just look at your aggression: do you find it hard to believe that people such as you go as far as killing in their quest for getting religious people out of their away? It's your most common premise, to see us gone. You've no idea there will probably be more of us thousands of years from now.

  • @Portubed You're an evil bastard peddaling evil bronze-age phylosophies as virtuous. Your numbers are dwindling ...European churches are empty, the virus all but dead. Scandanavia, the most secular of all has the most peaceful society on earth. The US, the most religious western society is the most crime-ridden....the jails are full of christians. Too right i want to see your evil gone...but unlike the theist i wont kill, wont need to. Fuck you very much.

  • @Portubed Christians are fucked already. The Islamic strain of the virus is the real problem we face. Christains?....history!

  • @gallus1 Soundbite after soundbite from a very uncritical mind. And now the US, the scientific backbone of the world today, is evil because it has "the most crime" (whatever that means) and jails "full of christians" (whatever that means)! When you realize things, in reality, aren't going your way (should I remind you you're commenting on a convert's story video?...) then you will be so upset and confused that you will start the bruising and killing... Oh wait you already have started...!

  • @Portubed More unadulterated shite. Indeed, the Scientific community of the U.S. is the leading light of secularism. 78% (according to the New York Times poll,.There are others within science which concur) of Scientists are non-believers with the % growing in direct proportion to the higher scientific learning. Science, 'the backbone of the world today' overwhelmingly discard the belief in God...ANY god. But like everything else of worth, you evil murderous bastards will claim it.

  • @gallus1 "Discard the belief in God, any God"? How do you know that? You need to dissect that poll. A person claiming that they don't make faith in God something relevant in their own lives does not equate to their views on secularism. Perhaps despite the fact that they are passionate about the fascinating knowledge of the natural world, they just have the wrong idea of faith as unappealing - one could ask that if it was a more Catholic nation, less scientists would be opposed to it as well.

  • @Portubed You're revealing an ignorance that can only embarass. Dont take my word for it, as stated there are numerous polls that all concur. For once, go look at the data for yourself...or do you need a vicar or priest to explain its meaning to you?

The "Backbone of the world" as you put it.....IS THE MOST UNBELIEVING COMMUNITY IN THE UNITED STATES. YOU JUST MADE MY ARGUMENT FOR ME........tho you are too thick to see it, those reading will. ;o)

  • @gallus1 «Most of them don't know what they're doing, in effect a totalitarian program. You see this all the time in the rage of the new atheists. They're angry. They feel that something is getting in their way. Someone reads the 10 commandments to them and they say "these are horrible, opressive rules". They don't realize what their real purpose is, in goodness, but they do see that they are a nuisance to their plans to be the sole source of good.» Stop being a fool and read the damn book.

  • @Portubed For one person, you talk an inbelievable amount of shite. Indoctrination played its part but to be so ignorant and blind to the evils directly and indirectly attributable to the doctrines of theism requires a stultifying willingness to remain ignorant in the face of all evidence you are ignorant.

The only church to enlighten is that which is on fire.

  • @Portubed U did say something with an element of truth to it tho.....inadvertantly as it was. 3 million Africans die EACH year from AIDS. The Pope tells us thats bad but not as bad as condoms. Thats just 1 reason why some atheists are entitled to be angry. Theists would be angry too....but only if such an edict had come from an unbeliever. 1.2 billion RC's dont see a problem and a mere few other christians could be bothered to make any noise.

  • @gallus1 Nope, you're the ignorant and stubborn one here. You have yet to stop and address the demands I put forward. Speaking of scientists, there's nothing you could ever say when you easily see that the greatest minds in modern astronomy and genetics for example (Copernicus, Lemaître, Mendel, etc), were actual Catholic priests, no less. Nowadays there's Francis Collins. Contraception does NOT SOLVE anything, and again you're ignorant and loud in trying to make it sound right. Show evidence.

  • @Portubed Isaac Newton, perhaps the greatest of all scientific minds, was a theist too. But he was ignorant to the knowledge we have today. Newton stuck pins in his eyeball...just to see what would happen. All western societies were theistic then....Science, rational thought via The Enlightenment and since, have stripped the filthy doctrines of merit.

  • @gallus1 That's why I mentioned CATHOLIC PRIESTS. Not just "theist" people. Some like, the founder of modern geology, Stenon was even a bishop. Amidst every controvery there will always be found plenty of holy, authentic clergymen such as was Bellarmine with Galileo. And this is for natural science. For the human sciences and the arts, the foundations are so vast from Catholic authors and workers that they would be hard to describe in its totality.

  • @Portubed R.C. Bishop Law of Boston the pedophile hider cant leave the vatican.....but then he's a Cardinal now.

  • @Portubed Francis Collins is ridiculed daily by his collegues. Many doubt his sincerity. Intelligence, as Peter Hitchens exemplifies, does not equate to common sense.

The filthy bastards in Rome who harbour many men of the cloth from criminal justice (not including the child-rapists) i dont deny are clever. Scumbags they are nontheless

  • @gallus1 Go check the Enlightenment's random tortures and murders. The inquisitions also served to built up a fair judicial system, back when faith crimes were severely punished. They went as far as put mold on trial, but of course, persecutions have always existed, they are not even less common today, there's so much corruption, especially among atheists. If you believe there's no real truth or absolute morality, you're prone to serve your present interests at the expense of others more.

  • @gallus1 "What we now call cover-up was often done in a different cultural context, when the problem was not fully understood and when all establishment organizations hushed scandals. They did so for what seemed good reasons at the time: protection of the victims and their families, opportunity for rehabilitation of the offender, the avoidance of scandal to others. It is unfair to judge events 30 years ago by todays standards." The Church is now rapidly becoming the safest place for children.

  • @Portubed You filthy bastard...even now you perform mental gymnastics to broad-brush the scandal of priests fucking little children. You dirty scumbag. The parents of these children have been coerced thru pious fear to allow the Church hierarchy to sweep the crimes away. The thousands of lives that have been ruined....AND YOU CALL IT A 'NOT UNDERSTOOD PROBLEM"? When was ramming a cock into a little boys ass hard to understand as evil?

  • @Portubed You bastard.....'A different cultural context" 'Little understood problem" "done for good reasons". Let me say this quite plainly. Nothing i have said so far was said with anger. only deep distain for your revisionist vomit. However, had you voiced those last 2 posting in my hearing, i freely admit i'd likely reach down your throat and rip your fucking lungs out. You dirty bastard.

  • @gallus1 "Ridiculing" is very easy to do. Especially when people espouse an EMPOVERISHED understanding of human life. You should realize that a scientist's scope is very specialized and limited these days, anything they say outside their field of expertise is to be carefully scrutinized, particularly matters as personally relevant and situated as faith. If you want to have control and explain things away without any real understanding about them, what do you do? You ridicule.

  • @Portubed But i have to laugh....you say the greatest scientific minds were catholic priests. SO what? ....Thats like saying all people born in Chicago are Americans. You're a fucking nullity.

    To Hell With God.

  • @gallus1 You in particular seem very "self-satisfied, arrogant, intolerant, completely resistant to any outside argument and contemptuous of it". You go around in circles, never giving any credibility to faith. You're a fool and I'm done with giving you, kindly, of my time and putting forward all sorts of relevant information, when you're just acting like an arsehat. You just don't seem to have the necessary existential and mental capacity nor interest to go into uncharted territory. Bye, coward

  • @Portubed You filthy papist.......i hope you're as understanding of "the not understood problem" if any member of your family is unfortunate enough to be butt-raped by those supposed to protect them. You epitomise how religion can poison everything. Unfortunately, there is no hell for the likes of you to go to.

  • @gallus1 Let me say these types of abuses are most definitelly depraved, why are you so revolted about the Church when all I'm telling you is that noone really spoke about it before, it was shattering. There's 95% of all abuses outside of the Church... After the current reforms there will be much much less. Nothing like this is being done anywhere else. Can you measure how disproportionate and obsessed you are?... You're a really dirty person and I'm sick and tired putting up with it. Bye.

  • @Portubed No one spoke of it?........what world are you living in? The rampant pedophilia within the RC Church has been an open secret for centuries....fucking centuries. Being an American explains much of your insularity but ANYONE, anywhere who claims not to be aware of its historicity is a nullity. Ireland, but one example, has been the butt (pun intended) of pedophile jokes since the dark-ages. U are a confirmed dullard. Do as i tell ya...fuck off.

  • @gallus1 I don't know why liberals castigate priests who hurt children, if they vote for democrats who want to legalize sex between men with little boys? I'm a Christian and Jesus voiced child abuse. (MATT 18:6). So a human being who claims to be a Christian and harms a child is behaving contrary to Scripture. ! Obama appointed Kevin Jennings, Child safety czar who was a lauded member of NAMBLA's men's for boys organization. Why aren't the lib's in uproar about this prominent pedophile?
