I understand that it is generally not worthwhile to criticize YouTube vids. People who found them enjoyable gather around them and praise the stuff to each other - and that is all good, I do it myself.
But as I stumbled here, here are my 2 cents anyways. To me this just sounded like a 13 in a dozen AOR-piece - not irritating but not interesting either. Specifically the solo seems to have nothing to do with the surrounding material, so generic you can drop it in any other song of the same genre.
@toosboos Correct on both issues - would being a musician help me see how the guitar solo here would not fit in any other AOR piece with the same/similar chord set?

I love all the solo albums from Steve. Specially LUKE but this one too of course. I cant wait for the one which is coming out this month. This is one great song. It should have been on the radio, it would have been a big hit.

It should have held at a good volume, before fading out while the vocals faded back in. That would've been better for me. Was just kind of boring too. This song is Enchanting , it almost puts your in a Trance its quite unique. The solo is just simply amazing Luke is so matured in his sound and yet still creative with a touch of wild child what the fuck will happen next i love it.

It seems as if there's a pretty strong division of opinion among Luke's fans regarding this solo. My impression is that Luke was going for an Allan Holdsworth-type approach in terms of phrasing (albeit using his unrivaled alternate picking, instead of Holdsworth's serpentine legato). I think it's a terrific song and an exceptional lead.
I don't really like the solo. I love everything from this man, and I think he is awesome, but I don't like this. Awesome video, and song. You're the best of the best, Steve.

Just picked up the album yesterday and I have to say it is amazing, great playing, solid writing and very good production values. Basically all the elements you expect from any Luke collaboration.

This song is amazing, I'm a long standing fan of toto and was very sad to hear that they have now broke up, but to hear that old Steve Lukather the longest standing member who has been there from the start

Becouse there isn't the ORIGINAL toto longer, jeff is dead(you know, i hope!) Porcaro has trouble with his hand, Bobby was out of toto in the period 1984-1996 and he say he dosent fell it toto longer,did he say in a interveiw. also HE leaved toto and i support him for his chooise, and the song is AWESOME but toto was BETTER

It looks like Drop D 'cause he plays the main riff with the 4th 5th and 6th strings all open. Or it's plain D tuning, but not standard ;)
