  • I cannot find a copy of Why Me or King for a Day. I loved pinkworld. I owned an import cd special edition. And it was stolen. PPP & TC forever.

  • Goes great with Hash.

  • i have 4 of his cds, I Won't be home tonight(my fave), One Tough City, Plant P Project and Pink World, i don't think the music world was ready for Planet P, they should've sold a hell of a lot more than they did, i sure was ready and still listen

  • @RocketRic14 Rocket you must know there are Three More Planet P Project cds out Now, The Go Out Dancing Trilogy.... check Tonys website for more... truebeliever.de Make sure you check rest of vids:)

    ciao

    Pinkwrld

(Some Tough City) and i also Recommend Tonys first album before I Wont Be Home Tonight, but not released in a large amount making it very rare, Tony re-released 'In the Absence of The Cat' That is one fresh album, its a great one to get if you like I Wont Be Home Tonight..,,,,,,,

  • @pinkwrld I should have said NOT Released By Tony Personally

  • I still have this on tape and I still have this song and some of the others from the album on my mp3 player. Love "March Of The Artemites"

  • Excellent! Thanks for the upload.

  • this is from one of my alltime fav albums...

  • @Pinkwrld You've obviously missed my point.. KAOS came out AFTER Pink World. I was suggesting Mr. Waters had been listening to Planet P and not the other way around.

  • @hawkmoon419 Thumbs Up hawk, I did miss it

    Ciao

    Pinkwrld

  • Listen to Pink World then listen to Roger Waters' Radio KAOS and tell me who influenced who.

  • @hawkmoon419 Neither, and i wish you fools would stop taking one album and say 'hey that sounds like Pink Floyd, bet he was influenced by roger waters.............It was experimental music that he himself went into studio, only a couple of guest musicians, wrote sang played every instrument and produced. If waters had even half the voice, or knowledge of music, Pink Floyd Pink World oooooooo bet he just listenedd to a shitload of Floyd and made it. Just give it a break and enjoy

    Pinkwrld

  • EPIC! WHAT A TRACK!

  • Played the heck of this double album. Favorite track was Baby's at the Door. However, Tony Carey's "Blue Highway" album...not good in my opinion. That doesn't diminish this one's greatness. Still have it.

  • @udarnkids I really liked the title track on the blue highway album.

  • beds heaps!!!!i think who david gimour see this video and copy the idea for the cover of the album "a momentary lapse of reason" could be? maybe!!!!!

  • Are there any other music videos of this album besides the two on here?

  • @sirdave55,

Well Sirdave:) You can look at it 2 ways. When the album was released in 1986 a video was released for the youth of the MTV era. The video was simply called

"Pink World' as you will see at the beginning of the video What i See, however due its length, 9 minutes, it got very little airplay both radio and video. The video was broken and released as two behind the barrier and What i See. So 1 or 3, yet, no there was never another video. Check my Site

    Ciao

    Pinkwrld

  • This Lp reminds me of Pink Floyd's heydays, what with its haunting melodies and all as well as the Name "Pink"..Coincidence? I wonder!

  • @mrmjb1960 It has been said many times, but in no way was Tony influenced in his writing of the concept album...Pink World...Many have said the same as yourself, Pink World...Pink Floyd, not a good reference. But there are artists that are taking Tonys and Rogers work and putting them together, in fact this artist should be paying both of them for there workstyle hes used. Mind you the artist has done an incredible job. Unfortunately i cant tell you his name:)

    Ciao

    Pinkwrld

  • I remember being 15 years old and staying up all night to wait for this one to play on Friday night Video's.

  • Windhammer, i wish i had a crystal ball to look into the past, to see who he is, if there is one fan out there who knows who he is, or is Artie please step up to the plate. The names are lost to the decades....no it wasnt dark haired half indian Tony, Artie's much blonder.

ITS A GOOD QUESTION WHO OR WHERE IS ARTIE?

    ciao

    Pinkwrld

  • I always wonder who was the little boy that played in this part of the the video Thats holding the Crystal Ball. Was it Tony when he was Kid

  • Somebody please put up March of the Artimites, off Pink World Album, by far Tony Carey's finest piece of work.. A buddy of mine stole this album from me in1985, bastard!

  • This is still as great as when released....turned many friends on to Tony Carey. Have to rate this in top 20 cds i own.

  • I want a copy ! DAMN ... I miss this album !!!!

  • Can anyone direct me to an mp3 of the album , or a disc ? Definately one of my all time favorite pieces of music. The entire album is phenominal !

    Thanks , Joel

  • @t4e511 I've got the cd, I can rip it 4 you =)

  • very underrated work from the mid 80s love this stuff

  • sounds like David Bowie mixed with pink floyd, I like it.

  • sounds like David Bowie mixed with pink floyd, I like it.

  • amazing and deep...

    thank you for this!

  • I can see clearly now.

  • hey. you think you got problems. i know, believe me. but belie ve me, i am working on it! trust me, i got 2 yrs, to get the riight sigil togethr

  • Magnificent record. Great prog rock.

  • I could add, the initial synth riff seems an elegant reference to Sirius / Eye in the Sky (from the sci-fi themed album EitS) of The Alan Parsons Project which was published just 2 years before.

  • I see many Floyd fans here. The reference is clear in the song title. The video has floydian style too: the concept of infinite beds remembers clearly of the sleeve of A monentary lapse of reason. I'm pretty sure the video is directed by Storm Thorgerson (author of most Floyd sleeves), as for other Planet P Project videos (visible on this channel).

  • PS in the album title, sorry, not in the song title.

  • the video is missing the first ten seconds of the song. bummer for pink world fans.(like me)

  • Last time I bothered check for Carey stuff in here the harvest was so bad I havent looked again for sometime, and wow it is changing,.lots of thank yous from Norway

  • Magic.,Tony Carey is genious... Check out the new Planet P Trilogy,.Go Out Dancing, think he has only realesed the two first, 1931 and Lewittown...

  • Thanks!!! :-)

Discover Planet P in -85, Pink World has mean a lot to me:-)

  • its perferc

same level of The Wall - Pink Floyd. Like Tony Carey and his solo carrier

  • Man this album rocks. I'm glad my dad introduced me to some of the older stuff he used to listen to cause I can't stand alot of the "music" on the radio nowadays.

  • Older sometimes is better. I grew up in the 80's, but movies and music from the 50's, 60's, and 70's were part of my steady diet.

But don't let that stop you from missing out on new things while they're around. There's still wonderful modern music out there. You might regret it later.

You can always have one foot in the past, and one foot in the present.

  • Wow. This is cool. Good stuff.

  • had the album when i was 19 im 43 now and this is still great stuff. This album is almost "Floydish" in a way . Thanks for posting this video Pink awesome .

  • wow- never knew this existed. I bought the tape back in '89 along with "blue highway" for $2 a piece- they were in one of those discount bins at Camelot Music. Best 2 bargains ever. Ever!

  • $2 Each? Damn! People just don't recognize good music anymore.

  • Wow that is still a powerful film & music. I had the Vinyl of that album in the 80's. It was Pink vinyl! I sold it. Wow...should have kept it. Thanks for uploading these. Love to see TC's stuff remastered on a DVD.

  • I see another Operation Mind Crime

  • This one is from 84.. xD

  • Thanks pinkwrld - never knew this existed!

I picked up Pink World on (used) pink vinyl when I was in college about 25 yrs ago. Listened a lot back then, but not since my turntable broke. Just dl'ed it from iTunes yesterday...I hope TC is finally getting royalties for this great stuff!

If you like PPP, I'd highly recommend 1931 as well!

  • Great video. I am going to have nightmares though. ;-)

  • good god- have not seen this in forever, and then i think i only saw once or twice. wherever you obtained it thanks, seems to be the only place for it for sure.

  • I wonder what ever happened to the little blonde kid. Just curious. I also like behind the barrier and why me!

  • Hey Darren, hes been asked to do that since it was first heard in the 80's. But he did say he'd love to see scripts, but other then that its probably just as simple as that and it could happen, a good script, he'll try anything once, the way he lives, day to day.

    Leonard

  • Hey, pinkwrld- do you happen to know why it's called "PINK world"? Why "pink"? What does it mean? Curious.

  • Ironically, I had just emailed Tony Carey asking if he had ever considered making a film based on the album "Pink World". It is an amazing album with very deep and relevant themes, and would make a kick-ass high-concept sci-fi movie! I had seen the "Why Me" video from the first Planet P album on MTV 26 years ago, but I had never seen the "Do You See What I See?/Behind the Barrier" videos. (I do live deep in the interior of Alaska, so I do have a great excuse...) Darren Johnson, Fairbanks, AK.

  • OMG That was beyond awesome!

I used to rock to this while steaming aboard a Navy carrier for 6months at a time (WestPacs) in the mid-late 80's.... Planet P was killer! Thanks for these vids!

  • Same here except I was on a Submarine! Still listen to this album to this day, fantastic!

  • wow, I don't ever remember seeing this video and I bought Pink World on vinyl when it was first released (still love the album). Thanks for posting.

  • First time I've seen this video in almost 25 years. . . Still one of my favorite records of all time. Thanks for upping this.

  • thanks pinkwrld

  • what year was this done in?

  • This album was recorded over a couple of years and released the same year Tony released Some Tough City. His first Planet P Project album was self titled, released in 1982. The video is from the album Pink World, the one and only video, over 8 minutes long, so i split the video into the two songs its made up of from Pink World, Do You See What I See/Behind the Barrier. There you go!! Be cool

    Pinkwrld

  • @pinkwrld Some Tough City was another awesome album, my favourite.

  • i cant belive that not many people know this song

  • I love the gloomy feel this whole thing has to it. Don't know why, but the whole thing maked me think about Lee Clayton's song "Industry".

  • My God It's Been Ages Since I've Seen Or Heard This Song. Thank You So Much "Pinkwrld" For Posting This. Brought Back About 25Yrs For Me. Man How Time Flys. "Rock On" All Of You.

  • I also still have my vinyl. I also have this on CD. I did not ever expect to see this again. Boy do I feel old now.

Great video and props to whom ever listed it.

  • one of the best albums ever, totally underrated, i was the only kid when i was young that had this and i still got the original tape i bought way back then... fkn eh kudos to whoever had this video an posted it, u brought back th real shit

  • Wow..haven't seen this in years...I always loved this song. Thanks for posting it.

  • I wish I would have seen this post a week ago..after 3 years I FINALLY found a copy via bittorrent (a pretty good bitrate too). I lost my original LP's years ago after a g/f took off with my stuff..thanks for keeping copies in the hands of obsessive fans like me LOL

  • I never even owned the album, was a kid when it came out, someone gave me a 'dubbed' cassette copy once. One of the greatest concept albums of my childhood now seems freakishly prophetic of a future/present that I really hoped would never come to pass... hope there's an 'Artemis' among Iraqi children after all the depleted uranium we've dumped on them, but mainly we're just turning them into mutants with birth-defects...'don't drink the water', how disturbingly true!

  • Hey Citizen, wow sounds sci-fi, if you want a copy of pink world through mp3 upload you are welcome to it. I've helped hundreds get TC and PPP music, as i was given the go the give away any of his out of print music, to fans who would like something, get in touch

have the album in half hour

    Pinkwrld

  • awesome. whered you find the vids? i love tony carey n planet p. i got this on album and its so scratched form multiple play but bought a record to mp3 turntable but havent figured out how to get it working right. one day. but you can find pink world on line but its import and big money

  • I've had 2 copies of the Pink World album that my exwife threw out. I can not find the cd anywhere. HELP!

  • I'm in the States and the album is very hard to find,...I've never seen the CD

  • All I own is the Cassette tape, sorry

  • If you want a copy of pink world through mp3 upload you are welcome to it. I've helped hundreds get TC and PPP music, as i was given the go the give away any of his out of print music, to fans who would like something, get in touch

have the album in half hour

    Pinkwrld

  • have so many people wanting the dudes music, TC and PPP hard to keep up with uploads. Tony has given me the okay to give away his out of print music to fans who would like, sort of like a gift from tony through me, send me your email here, and you will have the album in half hour, honest

    Pinkwrld

  • I saw the video on Mtv and I was a Pink Floyd fan, so I really enjoyed Pink World. I played it so often that I wore the tape out, had to by another one and wore that out. I thought all was lost for a long time until the 90's when I found out that Germany had a cd version. I imported it for a heafty sum and it's still one of my favorite albums. Now on my iPod and iTunes. Thanks for uploading the videos.

  • this is good old school stuff:)

  • Awesome ..I do recall a video for Static. Is that real or just a miss call on my part. Going rate for Pink World on cd on e-bay is 69 $. What can a poor boy do? LOL Great music from one of the most underated artists of all time.

  • Yes, there was a video for Static as well as Why Me, and for T.C. solo stuff like I Won't Be Home Tonight

  • Tony Carey is The Greatest. Dont forget he was in the band Rainbow too.

  • For a first taste of Tony and his magnificent keyboards on Rainbow Rising, the first track leads the introductin. Tarot Woman

check out myspace page, the entire cd is posted.

    Pinkwrld

  • Wracking my brain trying to remember this, I was addicted to MTV at the time, and just don't remember this being out. 'Why Me', yes I do. Fine day, yes. Thats what I hung onto all these years, and I didn't even make the connection with those until recently. Not missing anymore! :) Tony is amazing. If he goes no where else in the US, he must come to orlando, for me.

  • This is great stuff. Planet P is what I always put in the stereo as the perfect backdrop when I'm reading Ray Bradbury novels. I wish Tony Carey did more albums as Planet P. Im glad he's not forgotten.

  • I got a rare copy of Pink World on CD. Brilliant album and great video. I remember the Premiere on MTV in '84. Pink World should have been made into a movie. I found it so cool that Tony had a solo career and did Planet P at the same time. Talented guy!!

  • great video and song, reminds me of soom GOOD times cruzin' and jammin to planet p.I thought I was the only fan.lol.I wish he would of made more albums.ROCK ON

  • Obviously havent been keeping up hahaha, Tony has released another PPP album, called 1931 Pt.1, part 2 will be released shortly called Levittown, and sometime next year, Part 3 called Tears. Now these cds are not something you have to have all three parts, part one is fantastic, you can get at tonys webpage or at progrock records, and I'm sure on Amazon or ebay. you gotta check out, PPP fans love it.

    Take Care

    Pinkwrld

  • omfg i luv u!!!! (not literally) i cant believe someone else on youtube listens to pink world XD!!!!!!!!!! wanna b friends?^ ^'

  • yes of course, whats ur name

  • OH man, it's so cool to see this! I remember when this video was shown on MTV, and it seemed so weird that they'd do two songs together in a single video like that.

I have this album, on pink vinyl. Was this done on all the LP pressings, or are there copies floating around on regular black plastic?

  • an artist never fully understood in america and i dont think he cared

  • Husker he cared, but through bad management, like many in the day, much of his money was embezzeled and he didnt make a dime of I Wont Be Home Tonight, Planet P, Some Tough City or Pink World, then he said basically, screw it all and moved to Germany, reinvented himself all over again and still tours europe. Going strong, and feelin fine.

    Pinkwrld

  • I think i misspoke...I KNOW he cared about his fans...he didnt care for the dog and pony show...i.e showbidness ...and you telling me he got ripped off seems to confirm how i thought

  • Wonderful song!

  • Sweetness:)

  • Now you talkin' to me...or the video...cause both are Sweeeet hahaha

    Pinkwrld

  • Man....does this bring back memories!!!! Great video/song from my high school days.

Pinkworld, do you know what Tony Carey's up to these days?

  • Tony just released 3 new albums in Germany, Live in Sweden Vol.1, The Voyager Files, and The Boystown Tapes Re-issued. Tony was producing for acts like Joe Cocker, John Mayall, and a couple months ago he said thats it I'm going on the road again. You can go to his website truebeliever dot da. Glad the memories are there but theres much more

    Pinkwrld

  • Thanks! Man, he's been busy in Europe! Too bad he's never gotten the recognition he's deserved in the USA.

  • Cool, thanks Pinkwrld

  • I sure wish they had some videos for songs from the debut Planet P cd, like Armageddon or Top of the World, brilliant songs. Although Pink World is fantastic too!

  • Hi my friend, two videos were released from Planet P, songs were Why Me? which is here on my site, the other is Static, is 105mg, can only put vids up to 100 on here, so if I can skim it at end I will be putting that up as well, hope you liked some of the other videos as well, have static on for you in next day or so.

    Pinkwrld

  • thank u ,having trubble remembering the names of the bands i lovd

  • Im one of those rare fans out of the states, Im actually living in Mexico, but somehow I got hooked on this Group by MTV ( the real first MTV music)I lost the vinyl LP Record, but I havent been able to get any CDs from PPP. Any suggestions?

  • Cool man let me know, see whats up with it.

    Pinkwrld

  • Thanks for uploading all of these. I'm another that has this album on pink vinyl. :)

I also have an old dormant web page devoted to PPP and Tony Carey that still comes up 4th in google under a "Planet P Project Pink World" search (the aol member page). If I can remember how to upload to it, I'll try to put a link to your YouTube profile. :)

  • I have the Pink World album. I love it, 80's angst rock is my favorite.

  • I had this cassette stuck in my car stereo for 2 years!!! damn this song brings back memories

  • Fabulous aint it.

    Pinkwrld

  • Wow! I was just telling my kids how I was an extra on this vid - way back when an impoverished student in London. My mate Rich and I went to some disused warehouse in the docklans somwehere, were given a free cofee and sausage sandwich... we were there til midnight, Roger Waters was directing, we got soaked and covered in gunk - great fun!....was proud to be a small part of this! Like stepping inot a time warp....

  • Thank you so much! I have been searching for this video quite literally since the late 80's. I have this on vinyl and it is one of my prized possessions.

Again, thank you so much for uploading this!

  • Your so welcome, glad to have helped, enjoy the rest.

    Pinkwrld

  • Hey thanks, sent you a note.

    DKK

  • OMG, I wore out three copies of this cassette and have the fourth still in my collection, but it is on life support! This was genius work that has rarely been matched in modern music!

    DKK

  • quizas, si david gilmour y roger waters hubieran seguido juntos despues de "the final cut" hubieran sonado asi!

  • toney was ahead of his time pinkworld was brilliant

  • I worked the graveyard shift @ the Post Office and every night I'd listen to Pink World over and over...

    was I sick or cool?

  • Let me see, your probably 40ish, and no you aint sick. I have friends who havent heard cd in since 84 and still know the words to it. Oh it got some heavy duty play (specially with a buzz hahaha) Glad you enjoyed my friend

    Pinkwrld

  • Yup-yup.. still know the words. This was the shit when I was a pot-toking 13year old.

  • Watching this video is like meeting an amazing person one has heard about for many years. It's great to see Artemis. Thanks so much for posting this video and the other Planet P videos. Remember: Artie knows it all!

  • Sweet Zombie Jesus!!! Where is Artie?

  • Now if ya dont know who Artie is and the story ya cant be a pink worlder haha. The story's all about a little boy with telepathic powers? Anyway on another angle asking where the actor is..your not the first to ask, Tony has no idea, and it would be something really cool to find out who the actor was. Start lookin for me cause he's out there somewhere...in fact everyone who reads this post start a worldwide search:)

    Pinkwrld

  • OMG!!!! Artie??? I haven't thought of that ( till just know) in over 20years.... thanks

  • Nice. I was hopng someone would have this. One of the best of the early MTV vids you'd only see in the wee hours. Go figure.Great lp too.

  • Glad you enjoyed, the rest as well.

    Pinkwrld

  • you drank the water?

    there's nothing we can do...

there's no one we can call...

  • this is stuff we wish was more from

  • Great Stuff! Tony C is da man!

  • Aint he though. Check out my space page, hes got three new cds coming out in next two weeks.

    Pinkwrld

  • If Mad Max had gone beyond Thunderdome and found Pink Floyd playing music composed by Jeff Lynn and lyrics by Edgar Alan Poe, then he too would see what I see.

  • Debbiej56, I never had placed any similarity between Pink Floyd and Planet P. I'm 37 now, and although I knew the 70's Pink Floyd material, while I was 14 and 15 I listened to more stuff from Tony Carey. After I had seen this vieo again (after about 22 years), I see many likings towards Floyd fron their "Momentary Lapse of Reason" album, with came out about 1987. To add to the fact that Carey named this "PINK World" is even wilder.

  • I have always considered Pink World by Planet P Project to be the finest Pink Floyd album that the Floyd never recorded. Compared to the Floyd's output of the 80's this album both musicaly and conceptually is head and shoulders above the more fameous band's work. I'm happy to see that Mr. Carey is still working his magic in this century.

  • Wow! I had no idea there was a Pink World video or that there were even other people who were fans!! I only know about the album because it was previewed in my high school newspaper in 1984 and the only reason it was previewed was because the guy who painted the album cover was a graduate of my high school!

  • Artimites, unite!

I'm so glad that others are exaulting the efforts of pnkwrld. I think I only saw this video twice. It was way before its time for MTV to play often.

How many nights did I lie awake in bed w/ the headphones on, listening to this album from start to end. Too many to count, for sure!

  • Nice!!!

  • Welcome my friend, Tony happens to like the idea himself and new videos are on there way from Germany as we speak, classics including one everyone wants to see Route 66.

    Pinkwrld

  • pnkwrld, you are a GOD!! I dub the Artie II. In the midst of work making me free, I found you and your PPP/T.Carey videos and shall now live forever! Sincerely, I thank you for posting these long lost gems.

  • This is one of the best MTV videos ever. I am sorry, but it kicks both Madonna's "Sorry" and Timberlake's "Sexy Back" any day.

  • excellent job, Pinkwrld. One of my all time favorite songs and videos believe it or not.

  • Hey no problem, glad to hear of another Tony Carey/PPP fan. The video from Pink World, only one, was a mixed video Do You See What I See/Behind the Barrier, over 8 minutes didnt get much play, on mtv, and not on radio, I split the two videos into the two seperate songs they are, almost making more sense haha.

    Pinkwrld

  • That's too bad there was only one. It probably would've done better on MTV if it weren't 8 minutes long. I'd like to see the whole album done as a video! Is Tony's follow up album going to be a continuation of the Artemis story? I hope so.

  • Tony's last cd in 2004 was 1931 (Pt.1), Pt.2 entitled Levittown is set to be releasd in January. Artie is isnt in the near future for us. Make sure you pick both the PPP cds up, all of his fans, are hopped up that they now know when cd is coming out.

    Pinkwrld

  • Thanks for posting these videos! I've been looking for this one and "Behind the Barrier" for a long time. Do you know if there were any other videos made from the Pink World LP? I used to own the cassette, but I wore it out. I have the promotional limited edition pink vinyl LP but nothing to play it on, lol. I did buy the CD import a few years ago, though. I've turned so many friends onto this album. It's a classic. Thanks again!

  • I knew this MTV had to exist. I remember seeing in early '85.

  • MTV broadcast PPP as world premiere, it was played several times then dropped, one reason was it was over 8 minutes long, and to sci fi stuff for that era of music.

    Chow

    Pinkwrld

  • Its been over twenty years since I had seen this video until today. This is the most intriguing video I have ever seen. Tony Carey has never been recognized for his musical brilliance and the great videos he put out in his career. Thanks for sharing the video.

  • No problem, I decided to share on YouTube, many of these videos as you just said about this one, have never even been seen in the US, Canada, and Most of Europe, so I'm sharing them because his fans should see what they've missed. Take Care

    Pinkwrld

  • I should have said with the exception of the ppp songs and some solo, then in '85, off to the wilds of Europe.

  • where the hell did you find all these t.c. vids????

  • From all over the world my friend, from Norway to Germany and New Zealand. Even Tony asked me where I got some of those clips. In general musicans dont tape off there appearances on tv unless the ego is way up there, but they were hard to find, and I have desided to share this vids as well as several more which Tony C is sending, Later

    Pinkwrld

  • well, nest time u talk 2 him, tell him to come play the states, i'd pay a grand to see him, no joke.

  • Around the world my friend. From Fans in Norway, Sweden, Germany and one from New Zealand, its taken a while, and still yet i dont have them all, but some more are on the way.
