  • in paradise...

  • lol, poor baritone... he had such a beautiful voice, apart from the crack. i'm sure, the rest of the recording was excellent (if it survived).

  • ohhh how bad!! Nonetheless, it's wrong. There is no indication of a mordent or trill or any ornament in the sheet music but it's a very high note for a bass and it's understandable because of it's difficulty. But still... poor guy!!

  • O.o HAHAAAAAAAHAAHAAAAAAAA!!! :)))

  • In Paradise! beautifully executed trill :)

  • I know the vocalist...

    his friends called him:

    Eduard ''The rooster'' Jones

  • @taviona That was not an expertly executed mordent trill. I've never heard any piece of Baroque music with a "trill" like that. That was a classic voice crack lol. So epic.

  • @TookofTuckborough He was kidding.

  • Oh! Bach must be so proud! :-D

  • aaaaaaahahahahaha....im Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaharadies !

  • XD

    LMAO!

    Who was the singer? LOL

  • @LauraDkechan Kai Florian Bischoff. Currently singing in the chorus of the Zurich Opera.

  • He ornamented the crack!!! A true early music singer.

  • 1 person was the guy singing.

  • mordent trill was... wow.... it's like new music. yucky.

  • Sounds like Tarzan at 0:16 XDDDD

  • OMG...the best! 0:16... xD

  • There is no way this crack is meant to be executed the way this bari sings it...I don't care if it is written in or not; Dude sounds like he just got pinched in the butt cheek!

  • His German accent sounds suspiciously English...

  • needs more cowbell.

  • It gets funnier every time!

    ... SO glad I'm not a baritone

  • It is part of no. III in cantata 106. The baritone sings it.

  • Which cantata is this?

  • 8 notes in one wow! At least its trying to make a bach interpretation more interesting tho, gotta commend him for that...

  • what piece from bwv 106 is this?

  • According to the original score, he's supposed to hit an F4, no accents, mordents/trills or anything.

He did a good impression of a rooster, though :)

  • this is from???

  • I'm sorry I'm writing again here. But DAGGON this is hilarious.

  • Why would that have been intended???

  • Fake, not fake...too funny!

  • Uh... No matter how expertly executed this shit is, it isn't pleasurable to the ear.

  • wouah, tarzan can sing some bach?

  • Even if it was written in, it still makes me giggle like a school girl.

  • @goodnessmedarzex It's called sarcasm.

  • It isnt actually there... is it ? XD

  • I also checked the score. There is no mordent written, it is just an expertly executed FAIL

  • "in paAaäAaAAAâaaAradiiise" XD

  • Genius!

  • it sounds like the surfer guy from spongebob when he laughs

  • @LivLafLuv2000 it actually does :'D lmao

  • @LivLafLuv2000 OMG! Scooter! LOL!

  • @Fuzy2K lol!

  • I have the score. It's written in people!

  • hahaa xD

    which movement is this :D

  • In Paradise ?...hm hm...

  • he has a good voice! I would listen to it :3

  • So did Bach just write that just because he was an asshole? Surely he knew that 300 years later, people from around the world would make fun of the singers of this piece...

  • Oh no. Haha.

  • TARZAN!!!!

  • Oh my goodness... I feel bad for the ensemble who had to keep playing as if nothing happened.

  • I've listened to this video like 20 times and I'm still crying of laughter!!

  • This is a nice voice but the singer doesn't know how to sing. he gets thinner the higher he goes, you can hear it coming a mile away.

  • hahahahahahaha

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

  • By the way, there's no such thing as a leggiero tenor. That just means you can't sing. If you think this guy is good, maybe you should be in law school. No reason to argue the note. IT SUCKS!

  • @cjschne2 That is your opinion is it? Juan Diego Florez in an interview in 2003 identifed himself as being a "lyrico-leggiero tenor" and goes on to say that a pure leggiero would be a singer like Luigi Alva. What we are talking about here is a fach. Its purely a way of describing how certain voices suit a particular type of repertoire. For example: a light, high tenor voice with flexibility to do colortura would be suitable for Ramiro, Almaviva etc and we may call his singer a Leggiero tenor.

  • Maybe you're right. haha

  • clap clap clap clap clap

  • it's true, it may happen to anyone... but it's really heavy...hahahahahahaahahahahah, poor guy...

  • Every singer's voice craps out on occasion...too bad for this guy it happened during a recording. But he just keeps right on going after it happens...I bet if we were in the audience listening to the rest of it, we would have almost completely forgotten about it.

  • Check the score; the crack is clearly written there. He was singing it as is. Oh, how ahead of his time, Bach was! :)

  • @MattiasXL Clearly, this isn't a crack but a very expertly executed mordent trill.

  • @taviona yeah...sure

  • @taviona I love that apparently no one gets your sarcasm. haha

  • who is that composer??

  • J.S. Bach. You should listen to his stuff sometime. Some of it's pretty good.

  • ...= no support.

  • does it sound real? it sounded for me like it is fake...coz i din hear any strain in the singer's voice...he should not crack with this voice...

  • Comment removed

  • You wouldn't guess it from the timbre of this particular singer's voice, but this arioso is actually for bass, and the note he unfortunately cracked on is an F.

  • Comment removed

  • You're right, that's definitely where he places the pitch, but it is written as an F. Bach wasn't so mean to his basses as to give them A's! :P

  • @virr23

he did it on purpose, thats why

  • YES

  • Maybe the sunglasses made him lose concentration...

  • jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajjaja!!!

    :D

  • HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAH How unfortunate!

  • Tarzzaannn

  • LOL that was unexpected I can't stop laughing

  • indeed LOL

  • Hey, it almost sounded like a Handel-esque ornamentation. If only all people did coloratura that way haha.

  • Best reply ever! lol

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jezis a komu se to nestane, jinak zpiva dobre

  • He has a wonderful timbre to his voice with a very fluid register. It is a shame that this happened.

  • Singers all have bad days. Live performance is unforgiving. Also any posting on the internet has to be taken with a grain of salt.

  • Certified Intergalactic! 0:17 lol...

  • This happens to everyone now and then. I know this fellow is an excellent, young, professional singer.

  • Are you basing your opinion on this clip? If so, I understand but this is not the whole picture. THis is just a spectacular crack that has become famous.

  • Signore Cavaradossi01, I wish you all the best. We are of different opinions.

  • but, you're nobody.

  • Eh aho' ...succede! :) (It happens)

  • Thethin about cracking while singing sacred music is that your spirituality is suspect. ha ha

But hey, it's a devoted amateur sining in a church choir. It was a big deal for him to have the solo, but still it can be funny for us and I am sure he taking some odd pride in being a YouTube 15 minute wonder... I will try to post some of my own embarrassments - clearly there is something cathartic in doing so.

  • sining.

    *giggles*

    in a church!

  • Hey, I sound like that all the time!

Well, maybe not quite that good.

    It was the bronchitis residue...

I hope he knows that we know that this is not what he does normally. Now thousands want to here him REALLY sing.

  • shame!

  • So terrible when that happens...
