  • Now if you want to get techincal about it, OBAMA'S law suit is discrimintary towards AZ because he has to strike down every piece of legislation on the state level regarding immigration. In California u cant inquiry about immigration status, but at the same time that puts a burden on california citizens, and has the potention to impact the quality of life for its citizen because the enforcement of our immigration laws are being impeded. He cant argue one without taking every state on.

    I have nothing agains Mexican people. I like the one's I know. We have an economic problem now and they are adding to the problem. Not any help at all.

    We have been closing hospitals in California for some time because the illegals don't pay for services there. These are criminals pure and simple. People who don't respect our laws and enter illegally are criminal by definition.

  • @TAMARLANE If they do not pay then they are against the law. That is a generalization. It doesn't necessarily mean all of them wouldn't pay the hospital bill. Perhaps if given the chance, they would pay the bill. People in poverty tend to not be able to pay for the things you are not. Also, our economy would actually collapse if we got rid of them all instantly. There are not enough younger workers.

    Lots of jobs performed by illegals were previously performed by American citizens. Restaurant workers were traditionally American students. Construction jobs done by most every class of American at one time or another. Landscaping jobs traditionally done by American citizens. Hotel and hospitality jobs done by Americans. True enough, Americans actually made more money doing these jobs, but, aw, never mind.

  • There is no reason for Arizona to continue to allow illegal aliens to cross the border into America on her borders. There is no law in the US or in Arizona to prevent American citizens from patrolling the border with Arizona. Armed American citizens can patrol the border with Mexico legally. All we need is volunteers to patrol the Arizona border with Mexico. I will volunteer to take a few shifts every month.

    I know many unemployed veterans who would gladly take on the job. Round up 10 every day, by noon, and collect $1000 for the day. No taxes. $1000 per day X 250 days per year (5 day work week) = $250,000 per year. 2500 aliens per bounty hunter per year X 5000 bounty hunters = 12,500,000 illegal aliens and deporting millions of illegal aliens would be very easy. What if they aren't able to come back due to poverty? They obviously wouldn't be able to just pack up and leave.

  • @matreyia Closing the border is just one aspect of the solution. Fining and jailing employers is one part of it. 5000 bounty hunters can find and deport 12,500,000 illegal aliens in a year. Drying up the demand for drugs is not easy like the other three things already mentioned.

  • @DocRocz I have actually patrolled a little on property owned by a friend near Yuma. We stopped a few interlopers, contacted the local sheriff , who arrested 3 and turned them over to ICE ultimately. Nothing wrong with that.

The state of Arizona, under US Constitution Article 4 Section 4, has enacted a law to fulfill its duty to "protect every state in the union."

However the federal government under the obama administration has done almost nothing to stop the influx of illegal immigrants. So I can understand the State side of the issue although I think it is wrong.

  • @matreyia Most of the illegal Mexican inmates I deal with are gang members and part of Norteños or Sureños. However if they are illegal then there is no additional crime they have to commit to be deported. If they come illegally a crime has taken place and the proper response is deportation. This is not emotional but logical. You on the other hand seem to be quite emotional in your responses.

So do us all a favor and deport these inmates back to Mexico, but make to mistake, never support a law which puts legit Latino-Americans in danger of discrimination. So please get a grip and stop implying that Mexicans grow up to be in cartels automatically. There are good Americans who do not do drugs, and stupid Americans that love drugs and have no care for the consequences of their actions in the big picture. Drug users, businesses who continue to provide incentive for illegal immigration are more at fault.

  • @172677 So, that still means that at least some of them entered illegally if they have no papers. This would infer, if I understand you correctly, not all undocumented would have necessarily entered illegally, but all "illegal immigrants" = "undocumented."

    Therefore, we are still at least partially talking about those who acted illegally by entering our country illegally. Thus, my original presumption that it is strange that an illegal act would not be punished is justified.

The term for those here without papers or whose papers have expired are called "undocumented". The term "illegal aliens" is a perjorative one...meaning something else entirely and dehumanizing a specific group of people. If an undocumented immigrant commits a crime here, he's called a criminal...regardless of where he's from.

My brother is retired Sheriff and he wouldn't do it...neither will his friends still on active duty.

Are you aware that it was LAST WEEK...and the Judge has the case and will make a decision? Or is it that you only believe what you hope is true. If DOJ doesn't get a positive decision, they will appeal...which is a good possiblity because of AZ Judges. It may go all the way to the Supremes who will overturn it.
