nomilkforsanta. I do not believe Mrs Palin ever said she was or was not a young earth creationist. And, if you know the facts, being young earth creationist does NOT make one "anti-science," since there are many scientists who accept YEC.

No, nomilk, I understand advanced science and peer review, and I also understand the BIASES that exist in science, or should I say among some scientists. IF there are no peer reviewed journals showing evidence for YEC, part of that can be laid at the feet of BIAS against it.

So actually what happened is I got under THEIR skin. LOL.
Whether or not the problem in CA is "worth fixing" is beside the point and way off into left field. The POINT is, she was referring to a specific earmark, NOT anything remotely related to cures for autism. Case closed...you have no argument.
' Things Like Fruit Fly research in Paris France, I kid you not.'
She Did not give any further Context , assuming that she thinks Research in France or fruit fly research done there in general is a waste of money does seem to follow. ( although Not Logicaly ) Because Obviously she is not 'LIKE' speaking in syllogisms.
gusb232. The "context" WAS "in Paris, France." That is very specific and can be looked up, as the links I provided show. So she clearly was not speaking in the context of ALL fruit fly research, and certainly not in the context of research that may help autism. So either you don't know what context is, or you ignore it.
gusb232. It's very simple but it seems people are so conditioned by the liberal media that many don't get this point. MSNBC and others tried to say she was opposed to a specific kind of fruit fly research that might help Autism in kids. BUT that was NOT the kind she was referring to. It's that simple, and the ignorance and deception is on the part of the liberal media, and those who blindly follow their equivocation games.
The point is, there is ai difference between fruit fly research to help autistic kids and the same kind for getting rid of an agricultural pest. To confuse the two is irrationality, and to do it deliberately to fool people is a logical fallacy combined with deception - plain and simple.
gush232. It matters not what you doubt highly. What matters are the facts. And the facts indicate that she was NOT talking about fruit fly research leading to helping autistic kids. Period! Thus, people who claim she was speaking of this kind of research are guilty of the fallacies mentioned in the video.
Yes the facts and the truth Are what matter, unfortunately neither of us is omniscient or telepathic, to know her unexpressed thoughts. What are the FACTS that show she was inwardly contrasting the efficacy of these two particular fruit fly studies?
Still if she was: How would she know which study to Fund without the advantage of hindsight of each of the results. I doubt she is familiar with even the basics of the scientific method. I dont give the benifit of doubt , you do.
gusb232. The facts I presented do not require one to be omniscient or telepathic. The issue is clear. People committed a fallacy (equivocation) in dealing with her statement about a specific study that is VERIFIABLE. There is no need for a "benefit of the doubt" but just admitting the facts.
But Again there are NO facts that support that she was in fact thinking that only fruit fly research in france had nothing to do with the public good. It take it she was using this study as just an example that fruit fly research is non-sense. She does not give an example of what she think is good Fly research. There no reason to think research only in france is flawed. so she strongly implys fly research here is flawed as well.
gusb232. You continue to miss the point here. The issue is not about fruit fly research in France, but the specific EARMARK she was referring to, which had NOTHING to do with autism research. People took advantage of the ignorance of the public and equivocated on the fruit fly research issue, hoping no one would notice.
No, 33A, she was speaking within a specific CONTEXT, and if you don't get that, you need to go back to high school and learn basic reading and listening comprehension.
Fruit fly research is done on a broad scope in most labs, and they do things like researching the cure for Thy Sachs, this includes the ones in "Paris, France I kid you not"
33A4...While that may be true, it is ALSO true that she was specifically talking about the earmark that had NOTHING to do with cure research. The links are provided as evidence to support my claims. So no, you are wrong on that. They misrepresented Palin and fooled most people.
If you aren't going to accept my messages just because they refute your pitiful argument I'm just going to start a mirror account and RE all your videos so everyone can comment on them freely.
wow, 33a owned you without even mentioning the fact that the links in your description mention fruit flies that cause 10s of millions of dollars in damage to crops.
CreationGuys. No, 33a did not "own" anyone or anything. The point is, the research Palin was talking about was NOT dealing with autism, which is the FALSE claim by those in the media (liberal) and some silly YT users.
Nephilimfee. No, I don't "censor" comments. I am a busy man working on a graduate degree (my third degree, by the way) and I don't have time to waste all day approving comments. As for the alleged debunking, not ONE person yet has been able to truly debunk anything in ANY video I've made, including this one. So give me a break with the false claims.
I guess you just don't get it. To deliberately make up PROVABLE lies to distort the views of a person is simply wrong. So no, she did not make herself look stupid. People are so stupid they couldn't see through this kind of deception.
Listen CRoadwarrior, I did watch the video, and completely agree with you. Well done on the research. It was misconstrued as to what she was specifically talking about, maybe she could have made it more clear. My point was other instances where she looked like a completely incompetent person. Such as not knowing what the Bush Doctrine was or not being able to name a single newspaper, or being able to see Russia from Alaska is foreign policy. At least she never supported the bridge to nowhere.
Good, DBJ. You have some good sense. However, I disagree on the "other instances" issue. The so-called "Bush Doctrine" is a made-up, subjective term. Are you kidding me about the not "being able" to mention a single newspaper. Can you say "blowing out of proportion'? And the "seeing" Russia thing was JOKE on SNL and has nothing to do with Sarah's "foreign policy."
I'll leave the "bush doctrine" alone. That could go back and forth. About the newspaper and "seeing Russia", these are documented instances. Yes, SNL made fun of the foreign policy instance, but there joke is stemmed in a real instance...and that is Palan's incompetence. Oh and how 'bout that bridge to nowhere?
Documented issues my foot. I've seen them and they are cases of people making mountains out of mole hills. Nonsense. Just face the fact that people made things up, lied, distorted things, and blew things WAY out of proportion, all because they didn't like the woman. Anyone who can't admit this is either blind or dishonest or both.
Are you saying the interviews in which she is unable to name a newspaper and saying "when Putin rears his head", are false? Seriously, that's a stretch. She is a "tard" hockey mom and there is no way around it. McCain's greatest mistake was vetting her.
DBJ...No, I meant what I said. Do you understand what I said. There is a vast difference between not naming a paper and not being ABLE to in an interview situation where the interviewer is clearly trying to trap the person being interviewed. And please, the Putin "rears his head" can't even be taken literally, so give me a break. People blow things out of proportion when it's against the person they don't like. What about when Obama said something about "57 states" he visited. LOL. ?
Now, a kindergarten or 1st grade child knows that there are only 50 states in the U.S., but our President while on the campaign trail said something about traveling to "all 57 states." Yet we NEVER saw Obama get teh same kind of treatment when HE messes up that Sarah gets, even when people just blow things out of proportion or simply lie about her. So you can't run this game on me. There is dishonesty and unfair treatment in the liberal media, and some folks blindly follow their rhetoric.
How are Californian farmers not doing public good, as Palin implied? Its them that this research is helping.
Thats even beside the point, the way Palin presented the argument is fallacious. You must agree that she intentionally gave it some demeaning frankenstein worthless experiment meaning, brushing the issue off like it wasnt important, and even worth of ridicule!
The point is, as the video clearly shows, Palin was talking about a specific EARMARk and not any research supporting or helping autistic children. It's called deception and it is specifically called in logic the equivocation. That is a fact no rational person can deny.
Spot on. Great work! Also, even if Sarah Palin was talking about general fruit fly research, the funding process for education is in itself pork. This is why darwinism and political correctness exist. We need to transition from a grant based education system to a prize based system. This will force private money to flow into education before public funds do. Research organizations need to have some skin in the game to get rid of all the silly research that WE taxpayers fund.
Wait, is this American tax dollars going to Paris, France? Why are they sending my money overseas? When did the French start taxing me without my knowledge? What other countries are taxing me right now without me knowing it? And what was their excuse for doing this? Pest control? Thanks for the analysis, Road warrior. You got Olbermann good. At least now I know where my tax money is going. No wonder the Europeans love Obama.
It may well be that Palin has been misquoted, but it doesn't really change the fact that she said a lot stupid stuff that was leaving her open to such abuse. A potential President should know better.
On a separate note i would like to ask why you say you hate so many things? As an athiest i certainly don't hate Christians.
jamesmaybrick2001...There is no excuse for the lies and deceptions about Palin. And it does change just about everything. What "stupid stuff" did she say? I have reviewed many things she's said, and I find nothing "stupid" except the games people play. Note I spoke of things I hate, not people.
This is good to know. However I don't think the journalists you mentioned are intentionally misrepresenting what she said. I think they made the same mistake (fruit fly research=genetics) that I did when I heard her say it.
Still, I'm gonna have to assume they've gotten e-mails correcting them, and if that's true, they need to come out and clear it up.
minusjason...Well, there's only one problem with the idea that they were not "intentionally" misrepresenting what she said. It is clear from the context of what she said, that she was talking about "earmarks." In that context, it is easy to do the most basic Net research and find out what "earmark" involved "fruit fly research in Paris, France." You don't have to be a brain surgeon to do this. It took me less than five minutes. I believe this was deliberate deception.
And yes, I do get sick and tired of the Sarah Palin smearing from the left. It's juvenile and tired. Keith Olberman should be put on trial for slander...what a moron.
Yes, there are media outlets whos bias inclined them to color Sarah Palin in a negative light. I dont know if there was any merit to the fly criticism or not. Whats your point here CRW? That there is bias in media? So whats new about this. Does anyone really expect media to be fair and balanced when it comes to politics? Both sides suffered unfair accusations. I dont understand you lately.
owhey...Truth matters. If you do the "homework," you can't honestly argue that "both sides" equally suffered unfair accusations. This was an all out assault on Palin based on her Christian beliefs. Obama's so-called Christianity seemed to get a pass by the liberal media. If you don't understand anything, you should understand this: Truth matters.
I'm not arguing the unfair accusations were equally distributed. Forgive me if I don't respect you insistance on being the proud owner of "truth". Palin was attacked on in-experience as well as some beliefs she attributes to Christianity. Frankly I don't want a science teacher let alone a vice president that insists the world is 6000 yrs old.
owhey...Fair enough. Truth still matters. And if media outlets are going to perpetuate lies about people, then they better be ready to have such lies exposed. Palin was both a mayor and a governor of a state in this union. Usually, that's good experience. Did Obama have these? Not at all. In fact, a good case can be made that she was more experience. So that's not a valid argument. Another invalid argument is judging a person based on an alleged belief of how old the world is. LOL.
I do get tired of this "lack of experience" nonsense people attempt to perpetuate against Sarah Palin, when Obama clearly has less experience than she does, yet he somehow always gets a pass. What a bunch of hypocrites. I'm so sick of people thinking this guy is the Messiah or that the heavens are going to open up and all war, famine, sin, etc. is going to end. Some people simply choose to live in a fantasy world. The deception from Satan is a horrible thing that must and will be stopped.
"Another invalid argument is judging a person based on an alleged belief of how old the world is. LOL."
That's a great point Warrior. It makes little to no difference in this regard when running for office. There are much bigger things to be concerned with at hand such as the economy, the war, taxes, etc. What someone thinks about the age of the Earth is basically irrelevant. Some people simply do not have their priorities straight Warrior. LOL.
Thanks Road Warrior for the insightful video. While I have little regard for Sarah Palin, I do take issue with smears and falsehoods in politics.
That said, I disagree with you about her belief in the age of the universe being unimportant. If anything, that is more telling about where she stands with regards to science.
BTW, while I don't claim Obama had great experience, I don't really think that Palin being a mayor of a town of some 6000 people counts for much (at least for VP).
LordZentei...Thanks. Truth does matter. The problem is, we really don't KNOW what her belief is about the age of the earth or universe. We only have one valid claim based on something she said over ten years ago. So what? And that is not "telling" necessarily about where she stands on science. I love science, but I don't blindly accept all the dates people throw out there. It is not a valid argument to belittle her mayorial experience by appealing to the size of the town.
She really needed to come out regarding her position on science more. As it was, her record stated this, and she did not correct it.
It is not valid IN GENERAL to belittle her mayoral experience by appealing to the size of her town. However, it matters with regards to her ability to be VP of a nation of 300+ million people.
PS: I'm not sure what you're going for re: the dates on the age of the Earth; while there are a number out there, none is close to 6000 years, as I'm sure you agree. ;)
LordZentei...She has stated repeatedly that her dad was a science teacher. Her "record" stated no such thing. And it is completely invalid to appeal to the size of a town to belittle her mayoral experience, since the size itself isn't the issue unless it is something less than perhaps 100. The less people, the less problems to deal with. Where does Obama have ANY mayoral or governor experience? My point precisely.
I beg to differ. The fact that her father is a science teacher says nothing about her OWN views. And the idea that the size of the town she was mayor of does not matter is IMHO strange, esp when the "town" in question is little more than a small village. The fact that she has less people and problems to deal with in such a case is precisely the issue. Obama, OTOH has dealt with the needs of millions on the level of national gvt.
Of course, I do not claim he is ideal, merely less bad. :)
Warrior, it seems to me that people like LordZentei simply just want to find anything wrong with Christians like Sarah Palin. To be fair, LZ is a bit more honest than others who have attempted to slam Palin, but some people simply want nothing more than an argument against Sarah Palin no matter what. It's peope out there who believe Palin said "I could see could see Russia from my house" when in reality it was Tina Fey on SNL who said that, LOL.
It's simply amazing how some people blindly believe nonsense and propaganda without investigation first Warrior to suit their own selfish bias. This stuff is laughable, but at the same time, it makes me sick to my stomach. Even a lot of my own family members on my Mom and my Dad's side have been suckered into this nonsense. It's very disheartening to watch.
Tonloc...well that's why the warrior is here. To dispell the nonsense, to open the eyes of the blind. My good buddy Dr. James White likes to say "theology matters." Well, the fact is, "truth matters" also. And the truth is, people these days, despite the availability of the Net sources, are too lazy to do the most basic research.
Good call on the equivocation. They definitely lied, no question. If you read a little further in the article that you put in the more info page, however, you'll find that fruit flies are a huge problem for the second largest agricultural crop in Napa Valley and that the best place to research them is at a USDA facility in France, (I kid you not). So the criticism of Palin was inaccurate and sensationalized, but that doesn't make her right. Her comment was ignorant, but for a different reason.
AlexUofAB. No, the comment was not ignorant. If you're going to say that, then the claims of groups like Citizens Against Government Waste, must ALSO be "ignorant." This is not about ignorance vs. knowledge. This is not about the possible merits of the actual agricultural research being done. This is about deception, which is never justified. At least you admit the equivocation.
lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular
Both the CAGW and Mrs. Palin blindly criticized valid scientific research without any knowledge of the relevant issues, or awareness of its context. This is ignorant. I make no attempt to justify the lies distributed by various media organizations, nor do I criticize Mrs. Palin for her Christian beliefs (being a Christian myself). Mrs. Palin's comment, however, was ignorant.
Alex...I believe you are oversimplifying the issue. I'm quite sure that the CAGW obtained more information about the very thing they were criticizing, even as I did. That's a great deal of money spent on olive fruit fly research, and a good case can be made for saying it is government waste. Ignorant is not a valid adjective here. I think priorities is a better term in this context. How many homeless and starving people could be helped with some of that money? That is the issue.
In the article you provided, it states that the CAGW did not find the relevant information. They did not contact the USDA to inquire about the benefits of the research or the reason for the research to be conducted in France. They made no case for classifying these expenditures as government waste, they simply latched onto the xenophobia surrounding France and the obscure nature of the fruit fly. Finally, given the state of the economy, doesn't it make sense to invest in research to save jobs?
Alex...this video is not about the possible merits of the earmark. The article gives the sponsor of the earmark his side of the story, which is not necessarily completely truthful. The same research could have been invested here, or perhaps less money could have been sent there. The point here is, Olberman and others at MSNBC pulled an equivocation and made up something that had nothing to do with Palin talking about stopping research that might help Autistic kids. She was not the problem.
First comment, praise God! Amen Warrior, amen! Equivocation is right on the money! They obviously grossly took out of context the fruit fly statement Sarah Palin made, but then again when do these people ever get anything in correct context? LOL. They also accused her at one point for banning Harry Potter books years ago in 1996 when she became Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, but Harry Potter wasn't even written until 1998, LOL. These people are ridiculous Warrior. :)
Tonloc...Tell me about it. Ridiculous is being too kind. While trying to show how stupid Palin is, they became even more irrational and stupid themselves. Can you say hypocrisy, boys and girls? LOL.
These people want nothing more than to eliminate Christianity off the face of the earth, but they'll have their day in judgement if they don't get it together. These people actually think they are the most logical thinkers on earth and claiming everyone else is idiots like that person who called himself "StupidCreationists." Why do you think these people are so concerned with trying to destroy people like us? Are we that "annoying" that they would stoop this low? It's insanity Warrior, LOL.
I wonder why Warrior, when Palin clearly quoted "Fruit Fly research in Paris, France" did they not bring up the the problems with the $211,000 of pork barrel spending legislation from Mike Thompson? They had to have known about this, I'm certain they did, they are in public politics everyday for crying out loud. I believe it's obvious that they knew this, yet they were too much of cowards to point this out. They play these stupid games like a bunch of trouble making children.
This stuff gets old, is insane, and it's flat out stupid Warrior. These elitist pinheads act like they are so much smarter than everyone else. They give me more to laugh about than Katt Williams, Eddie Murphy, Bill Cosby, and Steve Harvey combined, LOL! ;)
It cracks me up that they are silly enough to say this stuff, as if no one is going to call them on their deception. And what's worse, is that even when I go to the videos with this deception and make the point about the deception, they STILL try to support the deceptive claim. Honest and truly rational people have to admit the deception here. But when they don't, it just reveals just how dishonest and irrational they are. The truth is a light shining in the darkness.
Yeah, I saw that idiotic comment that guy mordinvan left. This is what he said:
"Making fun of funding for valid scientific research..... from a bible thumping fundy who thinks the world is no more then 6000 years old"
Wow. They always resort to the subjective assumptions of "Bible Thumping Fundies" and "6000 year old earth" when they've been defeated soundly in their arguments. When they lose, they have nothing more to offer than subjective statements that amount to absolutely nothing, LOL.
This is why YouTube is the only place where irrational people will ever be "successful." They would not succeed in actual organized debate. Then again, I can't entirely say they've succeeded on YouTube either. These people will get exposed and the truth will come out no matter how hard they try because God is in control! :)

Still if she was: How would she know which study to Fund without the advantage of hindsight of each of the results. I doubt she is familiar with even the basics of the scientific method. I dont give the benifit of doubt , you do.
gusb232 2 years ago
gusb232. The facts I presented do not require one to be omniscient or telepathic. The issue is clear. People committed a fallacy (equivocation) in dealing with her statement about a specific study that is VERIFIABLE. There is no need for a "benefit of the doubt" but just admitting the facts.
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
But Again there are NO facts that support that she was in fact thinking that only fruit fly research in france had nothing to do with the public good. It take it she was using this study as just an example that fruit fly research is non-sense. She does not give an example of what she think is good Fly research. There no reason to think research only in france is flawed. so she strongly implys fly research here is flawed as well.
(but True, Logic is notwithstanding)
gusb232 2 years ago
gusb232. You continue to miss the point here. The issue is not about fruit fly research in France, but the specific EARMARK she was referring to, which had NOTHING to do with autism research. People took advantage of the ignorance of the public and equivocated on the fruit fly research issue, hoping no one would notice.
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
LOL. You make the warrior laugh, Wizard. Have fun in the block zone.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
No, she really called fruit fly research a waste of money. Yes, she really is that stupid.
33A4C2A550860822 3 years ago
No, 33A, she was speaking within a specific CONTEXT, and if you don't get that, you need to go back to high school and learn basic reading and listening comprehension.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Downing research which could cure autism or Parkinsons in ANY context is pure ignorance.
33A4C2A550860822 3 years ago
33A4...What part of "she was not talking about THAT kind of fruit fly research" don't you get? The "pure ignorance" seems to be on your part.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Fruit fly research is done on a broad scope in most labs, and they do things like researching the cure for Thy Sachs, this includes the ones in "Paris, France I kid you not"
33A4C2A550860822 3 years ago
33A4...While that may be true, it is ALSO true that she was specifically talking about the earmark that had NOTHING to do with cure research. The links are provided as evidence to support my claims. So no, you are wrong on that. They misrepresented Palin and fooled most people.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
If you aren't going to accept my messages just because they refute your pitiful argument I'm just going to start a mirror account and RE all your videos so everyone can comment on them freely.
33A4C2A550860822 3 years ago
wow, 33a owned you without even mentioning the fact that the links in your description mention fruit flies that cause 10s of millions of dollars in damage to crops.
CreationGuys 3 years ago
CreationGuys. No, 33a did not "own" anyone or anything. The point is, the research Palin was talking about was NOT dealing with autism, which is the FALSE claim by those in the media (liberal) and some silly YT users.
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
Do you make a habit of censoring comments that completely debunk your videos?
NephilimFee 3 years ago
Nephilimfee. No, I don't "censor" comments. I am a busy man working on a graduate degree (my third degree, by the way) and I don't have time to waste all day approving comments. As for the alleged debunking, not ONE person yet has been able to truly debunk anything in ANY video I've made, including this one. So give me a break with the false claims.
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
Nobody needed to deliberately make her look stupid, she did a pretty good job of that herself.
DeadBabyJesus 3 years ago
I guess you just don't get it. To deliberately make up PROVABLE lies to distort the views of a person is simply wrong. So no, she did not make herself look stupid. People are so stupid they couldn't see through this kind of deception.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Listen CRoadwarrior, I did watch the video, and completely agree with you. Well done on the research. It was misconstrued as to what she was specifically talking about, maybe she could have made it more clear. My point was other instances where she looked like a completely incompetent person. Such as not knowing what the Bush Doctrine was or not being able to name a single newspaper, or being able to see Russia from Alaska is foreign policy. At least she never supported the bridge to nowhere.
DeadBabyJesus 3 years ago
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
I'll leave the "bush doctrine" alone. That could go back and forth. About the newspaper and "seeing Russia", these are documented instances. Yes, SNL made fun of the foreign policy instance, but there joke is stemmed in a real instance...and that is Palan's incompetence. Oh and how 'bout that bridge to nowhere?
DeadBabyJesus 2 years ago
Documented issues my foot. I've seen them and they are cases of people making mountains out of mole hills. Nonsense. Just face the fact that people made things up, lied, distorted things, and blew things WAY out of proportion, all because they didn't like the woman. Anyone who can't admit this is either blind or dishonest or both.
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
Are you saying the interviews in which she is unable to name a newspaper and saying "when Putin rears his head", are false? Seriously, that's a stretch. She is a "tard" hockey mom and there is no way around it. McCain's greatest mistake was vetting her.
DeadBabyJesus 2 years ago
DBJ...No, I meant what I said. Do you understand what I said. There is a vast difference between not naming a paper and not being ABLE to in an interview situation where the interviewer is clearly trying to trap the person being interviewed. And please, the Putin "rears his head" can't even be taken literally, so give me a break. People blow things out of proportion when it's against the person they don't like. What about when Obama said something about "57 states" he visited. LOL. ?
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
Now, a kindergarten or 1st grade child knows that there are only 50 states in the U.S., but our President while on the campaign trail said something about traveling to "all 57 states." Yet we NEVER saw Obama get teh same kind of treatment when HE messes up that Sarah gets, even when people just blow things out of proportion or simply lie about her. So you can't run this game on me. There is dishonesty and unfair treatment in the liberal media, and some folks blindly follow their rhetoric.
CRoadwarrior 2 years ago
How are Californian farmers not doing public good, as Palin implied? Its them that this research is helping.
Thats even beside the point, the way Palin presented the argument is fallacious. You must agree that she intentionally gave it some demeaning frankenstein worthless experiment meaning, brushing the issue off like it wasnt important, and even worth of ridicule!
latuman 3 years ago
The point is, as the video clearly shows, Palin was talking about a specific EARMARk and not any research supporting or helping autistic children. It's called deception and it is specifically called in logic the equivocation. That is a fact no rational person can deny.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Depending how Obama does, I might vote for Palin in 2012.
devilslayer888 3 years ago
Spot on. Great work! Also, even if Sarah Palin was talking about general fruit fly research, the funding process for education is in itself pork. This is why darwinism and political correctness exist. We need to transition from a grant based education system to a prize based system. This will force private money to flow into education before public funds do. Research organizations need to have some skin in the game to get rid of all the silly research that WE taxpayers fund.
sm222 3 years ago
Wait, is this American tax dollars going to Paris, France? Why are they sending my money overseas? When did the French start taxing me without my knowledge? What other countries are taxing me right now without me knowing it? And what was their excuse for doing this? Pest control? Thanks for the analysis, Road warrior. You got Olbermann good. At least now I know where my tax money is going. No wonder the Europeans love Obama.
perpetuallygrateful 3 years ago
perpetually...You might want to look at the links in my "more info" section. They explain what's going on.

They are not going to france, there is simply an US lab there that gets the funding. It goes to US research, not french.

Do you realize how blocked you are?
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
It may well be that Palin has been misquoted, but it doesn't really change the fact that she said a lot stupid stuff that was leaving her open to such abuse. A potential President should know better.
On a separate note i would like to ask why you say you hate so many things? As an athiest i certainly don't hate Christians.
jamesmaybrick2001 3 years ago
jamesmaybrick2001...There is no excuse for the lies and deceptions about Palin. And it does change just about everything. What "stupid stuff" did she say? I have reviewed many things she's said, and I find nothing "stupid" except the games people play. Note I spoke of things I hate, not people.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Dear Lord, help me! It's so hard for me to control my hate towards Olbermann and Maddow.
They are so deceitful and people fall for their lies!! Shame on you NBC!!! Never ever will I watch any station that is affiliated to them!!!
ksurick 3 years ago
This is good to know. However I don't think the journalists you mentioned are intentionally misrepresenting what she said. I think they made the same mistake (fruit fly research=genetics) that I did when I heard her say it.
Still, I'm gonna have to assume they've gotten e-mails correcting them, and if that's true, they need to come out and clear it up.
minusjason 3 years ago
minusjason...Well, there's only one problem with the idea that they were not "intentionally" misrepresenting what she said.

Kyles45Angel 3 years ago
Yes, there are media outlets whos bias inclined them to color Sarah Palin in a negative light. I dont know if there was any merit to the fly criticism or not. Whats your point here CRW? That there is bias in media? So whats new about this. Does anyone really expect media to be fair and balanced when it comes to politics? Both sides suffered unfair accusations. I dont understand you lately.
owheydusoapsk 3 years ago
owhey...Truth matters.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
I'm not arguing the unfair accusations were equally distributed. Forgive me if I don't respect you insistance on being the proud owner of "truth". Palin was attacked on in-experience as well as some beliefs she attributes to Christianity. Frankly I don't want a science teacher let alone a vice president that insists the world is 6000 yrs old.
owheydusoapsk 3 years ago
owhey...Fair enough. LOL.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Did you get the link I sent you privately that contains lots of debates including Dr. Martin's?
owheydusoapsk 3 years ago
Yes...thanks. I will be checking it out.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
I do get tired of this "lack of experience" nonsense people attempt to perpetuate against Sarah Palin, when Obama clearly has less experience than she does, yet he somehow always gets a pass. What a bunch of hypocrites. I'm so sick of people thinking this guy is the Messiah or that the heavens are going to open up and all war, famine, sin, etc. is going to end. Some people simply choose to live in a fantasy world. The deception from Satan is a horrible thing that must and will be stopped.
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
"Another invalid argument is judging a person based on an alleged belief of how old the world is. LOL."
That's a great point Warrior. It makes little to no difference in this regard when running for office. There are much bigger things to be concerned with at hand such as the economy, the war, taxes, etc. What someone thinks about the age of the Earth is basically irrelevant. Some people simply do not have their priorities straight Warrior. LOL.
Ohhhh what a rushhhh! ;)
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
Thanks Road Warrior for the insightful video. While I have little regard for Sarah Palin, I do take issue with smears and falsehoods in politics.
That said, I disagree with you about her belief in the age of the universe being unimportant. If anything, that is more telling about where she stands with regards to science.
BTW, while I don't claim Obama had great experience, I don't really think that Palin being a mayor of a town of some 6000 people counts for much (at least for VP).
Peace. ;)
LordZentei 3 years ago
LordZentei...Thanks. Truth does matter. The problem is, we really don't KNOW what her belief is about the age of the earth or universe. We only have one valid claim based on something she said over ten years ago. So what? And that is not "telling" necessarily about where she stands on science. I love science, but I don't blindly accept all the dates people throw out there. It is not a valid argument to belittle her mayorial experience by appealing to the size of the town.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
She really needed to come out regarding her position on science more. As it was, her record stated this, and she did not correct it.
It is not valid IN GENERAL to belittle her mayoral experience by appealing to the size of her town. However, it matters with regards to her ability to be VP of a nation of 300+ million people.
PS: I'm not sure what you're going for re: the dates on the age of the Earth; while there are a number out there, none is close to 6000 years, as I'm sure you agree. ;)
LordZentei 3 years ago
LordZentei...She has stated repeatedly that her dad was a science teacher. Her "record" stated no such thing. And it is completely invalid to appeal to the size of a town to belittle her mayoral experience, since the size itself isn't the issue unless it is something less than perhaps 100. The less people, the less problems to deal with. Where does Obama have ANY mayoral or governor experience? My point precisely.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
I beg to differ. The fact that her father is a science teacher says nothing about her OWN views. And the idea that the size of the town she was mayor of does not matter is IMHO strange, esp when the "town" in question is little more than a small village. The fact that she has less people and problems to deal with in such a case is precisely the issue. Obama, OTOH has dealt with the needs of millions on the level of national gvt.
Of course, I do not claim he is ideal, merely less bad. :)
LordZentei 3 years ago
Say what you want, but I will take Palin's experience as both a mayor and a governor over Obama's non-experience in either category.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Warrior, it seems to me that people like LordZentei simply just want to find anything wrong with Christians like Sarah Palin. To be fair, LZ is a bit more honest than others who have attempted to slam Palin, but some people simply want nothing more than an argument against Sarah Palin no matter what. It's peope out there who believe Palin said "I could see could see Russia from my house" when in reality it was Tina Fey on SNL who said that, LOL.
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
It's simply amazing how some people blindly believe nonsense and propaganda without investigation first Warrior to suit their own selfish bias. This stuff is laughable, but at the same time, it makes me sick to my stomach. Even a lot of my own family members on my Mom and my Dad's side have been suckered into this nonsense. It's very disheartening to watch.
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
Tonloc...well that's why the warrior is here. To dispell the nonsense, to open the eyes of the blind. My good buddy Dr. James White likes to say "theology matters." Well, the fact is, "truth matters" also. And the truth is, people these days, despite the availability of the Net sources, are too lazy to do the most basic research.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Good call on the equivocation. They definitely lied, no question. If you read a little further in the article that you put in the more info page, however, you'll find that fruit flies are a huge problem for the second largest agricultural crop in Napa Valley and that the best place to research them is at a USDA facility in France, (I kid you not). So the criticism of Palin was inaccurate and sensationalized, but that doesn't make her right. Her comment was ignorant, but for a different reason.
AlexUofAB 3 years ago
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
ignorant |ˌɪgn(ə)r(ə)nt|
adjective
lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular
Both the CAGW and Mrs. Palin blindly criticized valid scientific research without any knowledge of the relevant issues, or awareness of its context. This is ignorant. I make no attempt to justify the lies distributed by various media organizations, nor do I criticize Mrs. Palin for her Christian beliefs (being a Christian myself). Mrs. Palin's comment, however, was ignorant.
AlexUofAB 3 years ago
Alex...I believe you are oversimplifying the issue. I'm quite sure that the CAGW obtained more information about the very thing they were criticizing, even as I did. That's a great deal of money spent on olive fruit fly research, and a good case can be made for saying it is government waste. Ignorant is not a valid adjective here. I think priorities is a better term in this context. How many homeless and starving people could be helped with some of that money? That is the issue.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
In the article you provided, it states that the CAGW did not find the relevant information. They did not contact the USDA to inquire about the benefits of the research or the reason for the research to be conducted in France. They made no case for classifying these expenditures as government waste, they simply latched onto the xenophobia surrounding France and the obscure nature of the fruit fly. Finally, given the state of the economy, doesn't it make sense to invest in research to save jobs?
AlexUofAB 3 years ago
Alex...this video is not about the possible merits of the earmark. The article gives the sponsor of the earmark his side of the story, which is not necessarily completely truthful. The same research could have been invested here, or perhaps less money could have been sent there. The point here is, Olberman and others at MSNBC pulled an equivocation and made up something that had nothing to do with Palin talking about stopping research that might help Autistic kids. She was not the problem.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago

First comment, praise God! Amen Warrior, amen! Equivocation is right on the money! They obviously grossly took out of context the fruit fly statement Sarah Palin made, but then again when do these people ever get anything in correct context? LOL. They also accused her at one point for banning Harry Potter books years ago in 1996 when she became Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, but Harry Potter wasn't even written until 1998, LOL. These people are ridiculous Warrior. :)
Ohhhh what a rushhhh! ;)
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
Tonloc...Tell me about it. Ridiculous is being too kind. While trying to show how stupid Palin is, they became even more irrational and stupid themselves. Can you say hypocrisy, boys and girls? LOL.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
These people want nothing more than to eliminate Christianity off the face of the earth, but they'll have their day in judgement if they don't get it together. These people actually think they are the most logical thinkers on earth and claiming everyone else is idiots like that person who called himself "StupidCreationists." Why do you think these people are so concerned with trying to destroy people like us? Are we that "annoying" that they would stoop this low? It's insanity Warrior, LOL.
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
I wonder why Warrior, when Palin clearly quoted "Fruit Fly research in Paris, France" did they not bring up the the problems with the $211,000 of pork barrel spending legislation from Mike Thompson? They had to have known about this, I'm certain they did, they are in public politics everyday for crying out loud. I believe it's obvious that they knew this, yet they were too much of cowards to point this out. They play these stupid games like a bunch of trouble making children.
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
This stuff gets old, is insane, and it's flat out stupid Warrior. These elitist pinheads act like they are so much smarter than everyone else. They give me more to laugh about than Katt Williams, Eddie Murphy, Bill Cosby, and Steve Harvey combined, LOL! ;)
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
It cracks me up that they are silly enough to say this stuff, as if no one is going to call them on their deception. And what's worse, is that even when I go to the videos with this deception and make the point about the deception, they STILL try to support the deceptive claim. Honest and truly rational people have to admit the deception here. But when they don't, it just reveals just how dishonest and irrational they are. The truth is a light shining in the darkness.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
Yeah, I saw that idiotic comment that guy mordinvan left. This is what he said:
"Making fun of funding for valid scientific research..... from a bible thumping fundy who thinks the world is no more then 6000 years old"
Wow. They always resort to the subjective assumptions of "Bible Thumping Fundies" and "6000 year old earth" when they've been defeated soundly in their arguments. When they lose, they have nothing more to offer than subjective statements that amount to absolutely nothing, LOL.
Tonloc1986 3 years ago
Well...you know they like to make assumptions. Everyone who believes the Bible does NOT believe the earth is "6000" years old. LOL.
CRoadwarrior 3 years ago
This is why YouTube is the only place where irrational people will ever be "successful." They would not succeed in actual organized debate. Then again, I can't entirely say they've succeeded on YouTube either. These people will get exposed and the truth will come out no matter how hard they try because God is in control! :)
