Having something free when it is outdated or oversaturated can actually be a great thing especially when it comes to goods that cannot physically exist which is what google primarily deals with.
However when we enter the material having something free or "cheap" is actually a horrible practice. I don't want to knock walmart but when goods are pushed to the bottom that destroys wealth. From business to consumers everyone loses.
I don't really think they were angry at anybody, he was just talking about how Google is offering services for free that other companies usually charge for, and how that is going to affect the market.
