I like the Droid 1. The overall design just looks a lot cooler and more industrial looking. The buttons are a lot nicer, and I got used to the keyboard within the first two weeks. I also find the D Pad a lot nicer than the arrows on the droid 2 just went it comes to web browsing. Not much of an update, so If you have the Droid 1, just wait till your contract expires and get a new droid then. Their both great and extremely similar phones.

I ordered the milestone today. I preceded the d-pad on the droid one. I also like the brass/chrome like color of the droid. The physical keypad is alot better to me cause I have small hand but still great phone though.

I'm happy with the little improvements Motorola made with the Droid 2 but I still don't really like the keyboard of it and the landscape touch screen keyboard is a downgrade too me because of the placement of the buttons. Still I'd prefer getting another phone if I had Verizon like the Droid X which is much better than these two overall (I have AT&T and don't plan on leaving anytime soon though). Great comparison guys.

You forgot to mention that the Droid 1 is a bit more customizable. The hacking community is a lot more extensive for the original Droid.

It is still the best android phone in the market today. I don't know for some reason i do not like the samsung galaxy s. Droid 2 turned out to be a big disappointment. They could have done something better with the looks.

Correction, Droid 1 did not have a headset jack. Its only for headphones. microphone is not supported. I don't know if droid 2 has the same.

Hoping a release date comes within next few days as I have to decide between D2 and Fascinate; my upgrade is due and I live day by day without a smartphone. I love the look and build quality of the D2 but the Fascinate has the 4" super amoled display and only weighs 4.1 oz. Plus, it's a beast for graphics and 3D gaming. I don't understand why Motorola didn't upgrade it's Droid GPU to the PowerVR SGX 540 (from the 530) like the Samsung Galaxy Series.
