  • Tomorrow we are gonna do a mash up of two recipes, or maybe just stick with the one, not sure yet, But my Aunt and brother were raving of the sesame chicken. Keep up the great work. Can't wait for more recipes

  • @lov3r4lif3 I mean Walnut chicken. But I may try two recipes or just mix the two :)

  • You are so amazing. I just wanted to send out a big shout out to you, that I made this recipe tonight, though I think trying to rush throw the dipping process had to use a bit extra on the egg, and corn startch, and we doubled the sauce, it works perfectly in a 2 cup measuring cup. I also love the videos with your gram, so sorry to hear of her passing. I just found your recipes.

  • @lov3r4lif3 Thank you so much! Sometimes the chicken dipping can get a bit messy, but I'm so glad it turned out! Thank you so much for trying this and writing :)

  • If you don't like it overly sweet, just add a little less honey. but this a good recipe. Thank you ^_^

  • I made it and it tastes amazing just make sure to use good quality honey, not store brand it tastes off if you buy store brand

  • Looks good! Is it spicy? If not, how do you make it spicy, add chili powder?

  • @BlackheartActual It's not really spicy - To make it spicy you can add some hot chili sauce to the sauce mixture :)

  • WIll u marry me??

  • substitute for ketchup?

  • everything tasted good, but i would recommend leaving out the sesame oil, because it gives it a wierd taste. also try to find a substitute for the ketchup. those 2 things kindof threw it off. other than that, it was good!

  • @ShakiraWannaPickle Thank you so much for trying this and commenting! :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy thanks, its great! btw is there any substitute for the ketchup? :)

  • @ShakiraWannaPickle Ketchup is basically a mix of tomato sauce, sugar, vinegar, salt and other spices. You could use tomato sauce and then mix in some sugar, vinegar and salt instead of using the ketchup if you wish :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy ok, thanks!

  • it may be 7:30 at night, but this looks so good...im going to shoprite right now. lol

  • I shouldn't watch chinese cooking videos when I'm hungry...it's torture.

    I should go grocery shopping.

Favorited. I can't wait to try this! :)

  • @McKale123456789 Thank you :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy is there any substitute for the ketchup?

  • so THATS what the chinese store down the streen uses for the sauce... Can't wait to try this. Onward to the supermarket~

  • Im a Muslim and i cant use sherry in my food.. id love to try this, what can i use as a substitute for it?

  • @niaxi1 Hi - for this recipe you can use a mix of 1/2 rice vinegar with 1/2 water in place of the sherry :)

  • i honestly never realized how simple a recipe this was! paused the vid a billion times and made the chicken as i watched the vid, pausing for the one hour was the hardest part, thank gawd tv was on hehe

  • @FogiTofu Thank you so much for trying this :)

  • awesome video, so easy to understand =]

  • I made this last night.I just got a wok and its the first dish ive cooked in it.It was amazing! soooo much better than the buffet I frequent.thank you for the great recipe! :)

  • @johnmanxxx80 Thank you very much for trying this and commenting :)

  • @johnmanxxx80 agreed i made it yesterday it was soo godod everyone calls me chief now haha love ur vids!

  • Trying this. Thank you :)

  • what do you do with the used oil?

  • @JogBird I store it in a container and try to reuse it a couple times. Once it is thoroughly used, I put it in another container and save it until I have quite a bit of oil. Then I give it to a local restaurant to place with their used oil which another company can recycle :)

  • what happens if you don't have sherry or red wine vinegar? Can you still cook without or what could i substitute with them?

  • If you are short on time just use frozen popcorn chicken from Tyson or Foster Farms and fry in wok with oil then follow the rest of the recipe. It turns out great and no mess of breading your chicken.

  • Hello!! :)

I just wanted to thank you for the recipe! It was AMAZING!!! My family loved it! I love watching your videos, and I have learned so much from you! Thanks again! :)

  • @jennyzish Hi - Thank you so much for trying this and commenting - I really appreciate it :)

  • If you don't own a wok can you use a frying pan instead for this dish?

  • @crimsonfox2008 You can use a pan or large pot (non stick would be best) as long as it is deep enough to deep fry the chicken pieces :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Thank you. :D

  • i normally call this honey chicken

  • Chinese one don't add sherry . they add cooking wine instead

  • @TanJianWei92 Sherry is a cooking wine commonly used in the US :)

  • I'm actually making this right now!! Waiting for the chicken to finish. Does anyone know if the sauce is supposed to smell heavily of ketchup? It smells a bit strange... verrrry ketchupy. Hope I'm doing this right!!

  • is there a substitute for the sherry?

  • sooooooooooooooo hungryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....................

  • MMMMMMMMMMMM Tasty..

  • It looks...perfect! Definitely making this recipe this weekend! Now to find my Chinese food menu...

  • i have the same measuring spoons

  • I tried it and it was delicious!

  • Would you wanna be my gf? ^__^

  • sorry for the dumb question, but what is sherry??

  • @jr4chargers Sherry is a wine and here I use the cooking version of sherry which can usually be found in mot local grocery stores near the vinegar section. And asking questions is never dumb :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy where can i get seame seeds and oil from

  • @TheAnthonylopez Most Asian markets sell both of these items. You can also usually find them at stores like the Fresh Market as well :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy thnx... your awsome :)

  • @jr4chargers smart people ask questions ; )

  • i had about 90% of the stuff to make it so i went and made it and i am eating it now and its good. i dont know if i did it right but oh well it taste like i got 90% there lol

  • great video :)

  • been my fav chicken for years, now I dont have to go to the chenese shop.

  • i tried it i is so!! great i made it at home couldent get enough thanks!

  • About how much pieces will this recipe make? i really want to do but what to know ?

  • im guessing the seaseme oil is a pretty important ingrediant? thats the only thing i dont have :p

  • @taylor8546 The seame oil adds the flavor to the chicken :)

  • @taylor8546 I know you were asking the uploader, but I agree that the sesame oil is important. It's powerful and adds a wonderful sesame flavor with just a little amount.

  • @taylor8546 LOL...isn't it obvious! You can get the same flavor with ground sesame seed i think...

  • There is a red sauce on a jar from ''kikkoman" Dipping sauce, sweet & sour"

can i use it for this? is it the same? a fiend of mine gave it to me for my eggrolls.

  • Ii can not find peanut oil around my way. Will it tast different because of that?

  • @ESQUILIN100 You can use any oil that has a high smoke point. A regular vegetable oil will work fine and will not change the taste :)

  • I LOVE THE SAUASSE

  • Thanks Lila, I think I'll add some of that chicken soup base to the cornstarch too. They make a low sodium version also. I really like this stuff. A 16 oz jar goes a loooooong way. I smile at each and EVERY.....go ahead...... lol.....

  • @duece10 lol - thank you :)

  • @duece10 excuse me, what is sherry?

  • i have to stop watching your vids at midnight :(,,, lol

  • @13RuffRyder LOL i no how u feel its 2:34 AM

  • Thanks for this!

  • @fshfacegurl Thank you for watching :)

  • what if you dont have the seasame oil?

  • @aburgess2013 The sesame oil does add the flavor to the chicken, but you can leave it out if you wish. It will be a bit different in taste :)

  • You look gorges and you look like a really good cook!

  • You are an awesome instructor, I think you're soothing tone and your ever-so-slight southern twang (?) made you sound as sweet as a button. Thanks for the recipe, Ill be making this tomorrow!

  • @MsAquarian81 Thank you - I appreciate this :)

  • i made this and it was awesome....I did not have Sherry so i used Red wine vinegar and a table spoon of chilli and it seems to work fine. Thanks for the receipe

  • @arrebiy Thank you for trying this - I'm glad you liked it :)

  • Tried this recipe tonight and it was a hit at my house, thank you! Although, I would say it was too sweet. Is there anything I could do to make it less sweet without sacrificing taste???

  • @sergio125 I had the same problem, but i found that if you take each individual piece and rub it with a napkin all around, you will not sacrifice the taste, and it will much more enjoyable to those that don't have the sweettooth.

  • wow that looks delicious

  • Needs more sause!

  • @BigGhommie I love a lot of sauce...esp with the rice! I'm def gonna try this recipe, but with garlic as well!

  • Im making this tomorrow for Christmas!! I'm only 19 but i LOVE to cook!!pretty uncommom for teen guys my age.

  • @TheCopyrightme I don't think it's uncommon at all. I went to college for culinary and I thought it was going to be strange and that I would be out of place. I went to a Culinary school at 17 and the class was filled with people my age both male and female. So it's definitely not uncommon. I actually thought I was going to be the only male in the class. As sexist as that sounded but it was about 50-50.

Also love the recipe, this does sound really good to make. I just love Chinese food :P

  • You're the best asian cook miss dammn

when u just see it u start staving !!incredibly yummy!!!

  • not enough sauce in this recipe. i like my chicken e-saucccccyyyyyy

  • Comment removed

  • whats with you and peanut oil. a lot of people have allergies, second why do you marinate the chicken? i like the honey though but i never used vinegar...im gonna try it out. my sauce recipe that was taught to me by my adopted chinese family is red though????

  • aww! when i saw the sesame chicken at the end i almost choked on my own saliva :)

  • I made this tonight and I couldn't stop eating it. Super delicious! Easy to follow directions and very good video. Thank you. Looking forward to trying another recipe of yours.

  • I just got done cooking this. The sauce was good. The only not so good was that the cornstarch coating on chicken peices tasted raw, even though the chicken was fried until golden brown.

I'll make it again, however, I'll just stick to coating them w/flour.

Thanks so much for the recipe!

  • Hey....about to cook this right now! lol...I cooked General Tso's twice already and love it! I love cooking! I think Im hooked to this channel. haha

  • just had this for my tea it was realy good thankyou lila

  • @willyham72 Did you try it with the chicken wings? Sorry I just got to this ques. I think it would actually work with the wings as well :)

  • il be trying this in next couple o days 1 qs can you use chicken wings instead off breast meat ?

  • OMG ur kitchen is so beautiful and i need to try this recipe so bad

  • DO YOU HAVE TO USE SEASME OIL FOR THE MARANADE?

  • @123hockeylax It does add to the flavor, but you can leave it out if you wish :)

  • where can I find sherry?

  • @Lemonata13 This sherry, which is a cooking sherry can usually be found near the vinegar section in most local grocery stores :)

  • Yeah, I thought but I wasn't sure because I have saw a recipe with the same name like this one with different ingredients, but more over I like this one lol

  • It looks great, I definetely should try this one lol. I tried General Tso's chicken and I really liked it so much. I'd like to ask, r these recipes authentic chinese or more americanized?

  • @UFOENGINE These recipes are more Americanized. Thank you for writing and trying them :)

  • can you stand in the egg with anything?

  • wow looks good... I ♥ sesame chicken =- )

  • thank you. I will try to cook this I have never done anything like it but Is my favorite chicken dish so ill will fallow your video steps :)

  • Can we use canola oil?

  • @ImAsianYo1 Yes you can use that as well :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy How much pounds of boneless chicken breast was that?

  • @andrewjpx It is about 1.5 lbs :)

  • that looks really good...can't wait to try it...thanks

  • cOuld u use a regular pOt instead Of a wOk?

  • @mrzfebo Yes you can :)

  • NOOO!!! all that beautiful chicken hit the ground, haha... I'm going to try this recipe, looks awesome, and chinese food is a bit expensive for a poor college student

  • this helped alot:) thank you

  • Who would have thought that this dish had ketchup!

  • THANK YOU FOR MAKE THIS VIDEOS , I was looking for this exactly receipe :) youre the best

  • do u have to use peanut oil to fry it or can it be any kind of oil, or does it taste better with peanut oil?

  • I tried this recipe like 3 days ago and have made it everday since i love chinese food and spend too much money on take out so from now on im going to cook them all as a matter of fact i have some chicken marinating as i type

    yumm yum yum yum

  • Hello Lila

This sesame chicken you do is so good, I did for my parents in Brazil and they love it

    congratulation.

    Thanks

  • @eduardodutrapena I'm so glad they liked it. Thank you for the comment :)

  • i used cran-grape juice for my marinade and it turned out awsome thank you

  • can there be any other alternative for the wine in this recipe? Can there be a different liquid substance that can be used in this dish other than alchohol or wine?

  • @XProVideoMakerX For this recipe you can use 1 tbsp of rice vinegar and 1 tbsp of water in the marinade instead of the sherry :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy So Rice Vinegar is not or does not contain alcohol? What about the White Vinegar? Does that contain alcohol?

  • @XProVideoMakerX Neither of these contain alcohol :)

  • MMM.... I LOVE CHICKEEN!!! YEEEEAAAA!!

  • this is in my top 3 list for best food XD

  • I put the chicken bits and flour in a bag and shake well. This way I coat them with flour instantly, so it fastens the flour, egg and cornstarch period. I suggest it. ;)

  • what cooking school did you go to

  • @levell101 I went to Penn State, but never studied cooking. I learned most of what I know from my Chinese grandmother :)

  • nice kitchen and awesome recipe! thanks!
