  • @singhbakshi you'll have to reflash your device. There is no way you can change the internal memory of the N900. This device is very powerful. Much powerful than the iphone 4 and the newest nokie phone, Nokia N9... you can find the flashing application at the Maemo.org forums...

  • Screw You...!!.. This is The Best Phone I've Ever Used...

  • I think the phone doesn't like italian cunts

  • usually a simple flash is all it take's, that seems to remedy my phone alot but most of the issues are my fault because i overclock and stuff

  • android and macosx12.1,windows 95 is available for n900

Come consiglio cambia centro assistenza

  • i would take the sim card out, sell the phone to some poor sod, and get a new n900 altogether. nokia doesn't make the phones anymore and.....

oh wait, never mind, march last year.. you've probably already upgraded XD

  • wel i ve been using n900 for about 7 months now and i ve not faced any such problem. i guess u ve bought a bad piece. tho there are loads of discussions about n900 being bugged but i guess that is bcos most ppl buying it are not used to maemo. for me it has been a try and learn process and its going gud as the n900 never fails to surprise me with its capabilities.

  • best phone ever

  • why dont you try flashing OS or updating the software to the latest

  • After the video, he said "Luca manjare a macaroni!"

  • Get a iphone... You are to stupid to use the n900...

  • @raptorzx1 realy iphone is the most overrated phone in the world and the n900 is so so mutch better than the stupid iphone

  • @lamogameoso I agree...

  • Propably yes.. You're the only one who have problems like that. My N900 is perfectly working all the time

  • @mrwojtex l agree with u...n900 is best...

but l think he bought from chines shop :))

  • Try talk.Maemo.org

There is an answer to this issue. Sometimes OS didn't recognising the hardware so you will have to reflash with the OS. Flash both EMMC and OS

  • Next time test the device before leaving the repair shop

  • I had a similar problem yesterday. When iI tried to install USSD code widget, I saw a message stating the phone application was closed. I tried to reboot and got in to a looping problem where the phone will go in to a loop trying to start. I could solve it ONLY by flashing and reinstalling the software following instructions available on the net.

  • never had any problems with mine. i've had it from DEC 09 till right now!

  • It's not shutting down and booting up, it's just a reset cause of error....usual for every phone, I can tell that cause it booted much faster than any n900.

Just sell phone to some phone geek for 60% of used phone value and consider your self happy..

My 6600 had software crash every 40 days...10euro repair..had 8 repair of some little inside thing 50 euros for every thing..it was Germain original from NOKIA shop..

  • @demonico123456789 NOKIA even paid me 60 euros first software and some electronic thing due to warranty, they sad it was my fault but phone was never dropped..but..if you love something you''l stick to it for long time, I kept my 6600 for 3 yeras.. :) so I invested 1350 euros in it, and base value of phone was 500 euros.. :)

  • If you have problems with it download nokia pc sut, safecopy the whole shit, and its all gone. Everything is on the nokia pc suit map on your computer, and your phone is just like new. Just install what you must. All the pictures, music and contacts is left

  • i had the same problem so i re-installed the n900 and it worked better than be4ore but i have a problem with contacts

  • Try flashing for youself: Google for Nokia´s Site where you get the OSs.

Then Download the EMMC Image as well as all the Other Maemo Files.

Then Flash the eMMC first, don´t boot, flash the oldest system first, and then start the Device. And then Continue to do this until you are on PR 1.2. Note: You won´t be able to make calls until PR 1.2 because of changes on the System.

If it doesn´t work then, just sell it on ebay and get a new one ^_^ maybe you want mine ;_D

  • Yeah i think you should try reflashing the main firmware and the EMMC. h##p://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware

  • probably some hardware fault somewhere

  • i am was between this nokia and iphone 3gs, but now with this video i guess i had decided for the iphone 3gs haha

what do you think? n900 or 3gs?

  • @ecmperalta the n900 kicks ass

  • @ecmperalta n900 3gs as problems too

  • @ecmperalta n900

  • Turning off and on by itself... curiosly enough, my N95 has done that five or six times in the almost 1.5 years I have it. I want an N900... would you mind sending me yours? :D

  • @me1ne i got that with my n95 8gb. hope the batteries not as shit as the other n series models though !

  • @fireryinferno Posting from N900. Considering I am permanently online and this little wonder does an increasingly good job at replacing a portable computer, phone, e-reader and allowing me to play scummVM games et cetera the battery life is great. Heavy use means a daily charge. My N95 has been sitting there idling for 3 days now and lost one battery indicator bar. It all depends on usage. Android phones are nowhere better...

  • how do you send songs via bluetooth :S

  • @ryanmarceagles petrovich

  • Dude, that is only witch your phone, mine it is fine!

  • Too bad for some of you... mine is working fine. Probably you have a defective unit which should be returned and replaced... request a new one. I tried and none of those problems appeared... Try to flash a more recent rom...

  • Hi there,

I've had my n900 for a week and a half now and software wise it's perfect... but I do have another, very strange and incredibly worrying problem.

When I make or receive a phone call, the phone burns my ear. I don't mean "It gets a little warm", I mean my ear turns bright red, hurts like hell and remains red / hot to the touch for up to an HOUR after a call. That happened twice - the second time left me with a massive headache too.

Taking it back asap! Hope you get sorted soon :)

  • About my new Nokia N900 iz fucking asshole model the worst mobile i have ever seen, I brought this model since 2 days ago and i found many problem's with this model! i went to the service center O2 care with my problems they kept my phone with them for service for 14 days and after 14days they didn't solved my issue and given me an excuse that the software not came yet! so i advice you guys don't buy this mobile better you buy IPhone instead of Nokia N900!

  • I think all symbian phones have problems, did you know you can get Iphone user interface for them, I put an instructional video on my channel

  • @chrisjacksonvivaz This "phone" does not runs symbian...

  • Maybe it's a problem with the italian-language-file?

  • è importato?

    che garanzia ha?

    europa o italia?

  • I had also problems with my n900 it started to rebooting itself one day... another day, it freezed while booting, and the day after it refuses to turn itself on, or connect to USB so I could reflash it. Nokia 1st lvl servis told me that they van't reflash it, and I should go to MobileASK (authorised nokia partner servis). They reflashed it and i have my phone back today. Yes.. it has lot of bugs, it has so few apps in official stable repositories, but I still love that phone :D

  • The auto-reboot is fixed with the latest sofware version, you should process to the update as soon as possible.

I think the software update should also fix your volume up/down problem.

If it doesn't, then try to clean your device (it can be done in Control Panel).

  • well i love the phone and have no problems everything works as it should be

  • The only solution i could think of is re-flashing your Nokia N900.

I had a problem far worst than yours, my friend.

Problem was that my n900 kept restarting over and over (and over) even though i connect the device on its charger or the mini USB port via PC. It ran out of battery that day. The culprit was a bad application in the maemo repository, can't pinpoint which apps since i've uninstalled other apps previous days. Without proper reboot, no chances was made.

Try re-flashing only the OS. GL

  • no problems with my phone as well.. i had faced the dreaded BOOT LOOP.. but it went away with the latest firmware flash.. y dont u try it on as well?

  • Fuck you Nokia. after 4 days of use, when calls were made or received the screen would go blank. and nothing would work, unless you opened to landscape mode. 6 attempts to reset the phone changed nothing. Nokia tech support said send it in and wait 4-6 weeks for repair. ON A brand new $600 phone !!!!!! thank god Amazon gave me my money back cause Nokia didn't care. Not to mention when ordering from Nokia they canceled the order twice without notice. Terrible company to deal with

  • n900 is restarting by itself when the system detects that some essential OS service is not running properly. i think if you will give it back to your store they will eventually replace it, i dont know the legislation in Italy but in my country when they admit 3rd claim they have to give u the money back or replace it with new one.

  • You have done this video in Italian, now in English. Go on, next in French, then in German, and don't forget the Russian.

Do they pay you for this?

  • Looks like you are the only one. I have used the N900 now for several months and I didn't see any kind of these problems. I would suggest to just go back to your Nokia store and have it exchanged.

  • to rule out a hardware problem, completely re-flash your n900, read the wiki page on maemo org "/Updating_the_firmware"

    good luck :)

  • why you not speak nokia,,,,ummmhhhhhh

  • man i feel bad for you. i have not encountered these problems.

  • It definitely looks like a hardware problem. Try to get your phone replaced with a new one.

  • oh man, hmm... strange

i havn´t heard of your problems yet too, but why is nokia not givin´ you a new one? i think they must do it...

  • I have the phone myself for about three months now. I'm not experience any of those bugs you're showing in the Video and I haven't heard of them untill now. I'm not saying this isn't true but the only thing one could really appreciate in the video is the rebooting bug, and even that one I haven't experienced yet.
