It seems like there is always one member of a singing family whose talent goes far above the rest. For example, Larry Gatlin, Jason Crabb, Sonya Isaacs, Buddy Mullins, Rusty Goodman, etc.

Is this the same Plainsmen group from west Louisiana? I know some of those guys now. I also met Rusty one time in the 70's at a Firemen's Convention singing in Tuscaloosa, AL

I think you mean the Southern Plainsmen out of Many and Hornbeck, LA led by Marcelle Slaughter.

What a gem here! I always did say that Rusty Goodman was the BEST vocalist in the Happy Goodman Family and I stand by that today! The man COULD SING! Sadly, he had to leave us much too soon. Thanks adkinsda for a great video clip. FIVE STARS! Mike (MoJoPiano)
