Joerg, I just discovered you today and have spent much of the afternoon and evening studying what you are doing. I'd have to say these are some of the most fascinating, funny and cool videos I've come across in a long time.

You have inspired me to use some of your approaches with pure sling shots and cross them with the use of arrows.

Hello Joerg. What kind of string do you use for the thera tube? Could you do a video that shows how you attached those green tubes to the eyelets? I am going to make the steel slingshot that you showed how to make where you use the fimo grip and the steel tube and all that. I noticed that when you showed your green tubes, they had the eyelets on the pouch instead of just putting the rubber through the holes like you did with the yellow ones. I'm using the green tube and I want it like yours.

Um do you know what store in Canada you could buy rubber tubing? I tried Canadian tire but it comes with only one single tube with the pad please someone tell me I have been searching for very long

@Reagster11 I actually live in Canada (even if my yt name says not) and sometimes at rona or home depot they have rubber bands and rubber tubes. for leather, i dont know. Hope it helps!

hey quick question, on the power chart for thera band it says black is 17.8lbs at 250% stretch, and gold is 40lbs at 250% stretch, is black better for slingshots, or would gold's higher power be better for pure power

@drewnickel For slingshots, you stretch to about 550% though. Black is faster than gold, but tears earlier. You have to match the strength of the bands to your ammo. A higher draw weight won't make the shot faster, there is an ideal band set for each ammo type. You need to register at the slingshotforum, lots of details there.

@JoergSprave I'm looking more so for energy than speed, but a good balance between the two would be nice, I'd like to try a monster 40mm ball (1.6" and almost 3/4lb) so gold would be a probably devastating band for it, black would be even better, if you could handle pulling back 8 of them at the same time. I want to see how far non-firearm weapons can be pushed. I'm hoping for my slingshot design to push the 200 joule mark, or even the 250 mark, making it the strongest rubber powered weapon ever

Ja, die Tubes sind schneller herzustellen und halten in der Regel länger. Aber sie haben deutlich weniger Speed (= Power) als dünne, flache Bänder. Such nach "Thera Tube" bei ebay.

Hey Joerg! I'm from spudfiles, have you ever considered using bicycle rubber tubing (the inner tube you pump air for) I was planning to use that for my sling shots, rubber tubing and stuff are quite rare in australia :(.

I have never tested inner bicicle tubing. I did test car inner tubes, but it did not work very good. Elongation and speed was miserable.

Why don't you just test it? Seems like you don't have much to loose.

my opa said that when he was a kid growing up in the old country, he used inner tubes from bicycle tires

it must have worked well enough, but im sure it doesnt work as well as thera bands do

@littlebro05 I have used tire tube rubber and it doesn't stretch much. I linked rings together and you have to use a lot of them. There is not much power either. Not power like Joerg's killer machines.
