  • Wow, makes Edouard Lock's stuff look slow.

  • Who is that clumsy Russian? Looks like he had one too many vodka shooters, and his balls appear to be a little inflated.

  • I cannot get this video clip to play - is anyone else having the same problem?

  • @ai51inn It's only 4 seconds :s

  • @crimsonregret0x0 Thanks crimsonregret I hadn't noticed it's now only 4 seconds! It used to be longer - the whole variation.

  • an absolute pain that you can't see it any longer in detail.

  • Absolutely breathtaking!

  • Sheer Delight.

  • cool

  • I have this DVD and I love it - but I prefer what I've always known - the Lilac Fairy to dance!

  • @balletnut Very much so! Totally agree.

  • Oh, he was such a total brat, but such a talented and rare brat that I welcome every excess with which he graced us.

  • what year is this?

  • I was lucky enough to see this production, and everyone in the audience knew we were watching dance history being made (even though Nureyev tripped when he first stepped onto the stage!

  • I see his interpretation as a lost prince with no idea where his future purpose is yet he senses heroic opportunity just around the bend!

  • i love the almost "dumb young fellow" demeanor his dancing take on here. very nice, obvious, change.

  • Were is video of Makarova and Nureyev?

  • Most beautiful man who ever lived-tiny little fellow.

  • I love this video☆thank you!Nureyev is my favorite.

  • Put this on mute and play the song "My Girls" by Animal Collective. I love it!

    Maybe you'll love it too.

  • im doin it RIGHT NOW.

  • la musica y su danza unidas por la belleza´

  • by the looks of that package and that booty, I'd be happy on top OR bottom!!! Wow

  • perfeitooo

  • Nureyev had the courage to command freedom for his artistry and defected under dangerous circumstances. He is a beacon of freedom for all struggling artists wishing to be free from oppression. To soar across the stage with the grace of a gazelle is a gift from the totality of the universe. Nureyev danced his way into history as a valiant fighter for human rights and freedom of artistic expression. Nureyev is among several artists who sacrificed for art and triumphed.

  • @ajb1776 Well said! I totally agree with your statement. Bravo.

  • bello bello bellissimo

  • The way he could move his legs he would have been great at martial arts

  • lol!

  • He did in fact kicked one of the corps male dancer in the middle of a performance right in the crotch... and sent him to the hospital. I'm sure those around Rudik were glad he didn't practiced martial arts.

  • I don't think he needed martial arts. He was a big strong guy. I certainly never would have wanted to tick him off! I bet he could crush you with those legs!

  • I bet his teachers loved to spank him ;p

  • Especially if they we female teachers ROFL!

  • Nureyev was the real revolution in the world of ballet, specially in the men's world of dance.

  • i wish i had the chance to meet him!!!!

  • Love you, Rudolf, wherever you are. . . dancing on in some parallel universe, I hope. Still no one else like you, there never will be. . . .

  • He's with Freddie Mercury now

  • And I bet the 2 of them are really getting it on. I wonder who is on top.

  • Thanks for the laugh - that is the best comment up there!

  • thank you.

  • He was perfect... his techinque was amazing! He was a ballet god... what a loss!

  • I admit it -I'm a lascivious dog. Nureyev was hot - hot -hot!! Look for him on the internet for a full frontal nude photo of him done by the great photographer Avedon . Rudy was LARGER than life in many ways!

  • I dont know of that.. But in despite of the thumbs down points your comment earn i must tell you that Rudik would laugh of it, he was very proud, and he loved to tease the audience with both his crotch and his butt.

  • I love it! What a beautiful guy, he can really move..

It was difficult to stop staring at his behind.. x/D

Though dance is really graceful and lovely,

but I'm not sure I'm getting the proper feeling from it..

    Still, love, love, LOVE it!

  • Amazing...!

  • His dancing is wonderful, but isn't it kind of disconnected from the music? Such a nice violin solo...

  • Both his soul and his body are dancing,so the Pince says nothing, and his sorrow is exuded.

    Rudolf is the real Prince!★§★

  • i hope you can understand its not sexual.. but i so much want to feel his behind.. looks amazing (im not even close to dare to judge his performance.. absolutelly amazing)

  • nureyev es increible y eso que no soy aficionado al ballet

  • This man changed EVERYTHING!!!

  • yeah he was a whole revolution not only in the ballet world..

  • What a dancer! A friend of mine knew him very well.

  • 7532159aa...you are a little b****** scumbag! Nureyev was a beautiful and exquisite dancer, an artist, enlightened and gifted-something you know nothing about and never will be a part of! Go to Hell!

  • i agree

  • wow, he really cought me

  • Sublime, magic!

  • Magic

  • This is an interesting solo. I've seen other productions on video that have the prince do a solo before the vision to show his loneliness. While the music here does convey emotions of being lonely, seeking for something unknown, IMHO, the choreography does not express those feelings. Instead, it seems Nureyev's prince is just doing steps to the music -- at times fast to match the quick violin, slow steps when the music slows -- never really showing what he is feeling, just what he can do.

  • I agree 100%. I have read he choreographed this solo for himself. Somewhat of an exhibition, and a few of the other minor dancer's solos were cut out to accomadate the increase in variations for the Prince. I love him though, but prefer what the Dutch ballet does to this music.

  • you idiot

  • What a wonderful dancer and MY what a package!!!

  • agreed, on both counts!!

  • i am very sorry but i wasn't to fund of this

  • I saw Nureyev and Tennant in '72 perform this in Chicago. It seems surreal that I was there.

  • What a beautiful fifth position!

  • Devastatingly beautiful it was such an enraptured scene that he created for himself

always faithful to Petipa and had us all in the audience at Covent Garden totally entranced. Luckily the scene is kept in his production for the Paris Ballet.

  • rudi is amazing... any guy that says this is stupid or whatever is just jealous... male ballerinas are incredibly strong and talented! rudi is the best!

  • I know! Rudi is my sexy ass man!

  • Sorry. I wanted to say a lot more but didn't have any time.

Rudolf is basically the greatest dancer who ever lived. I am an aspiring bellerina and I wish I could have had a chance to dance with him! He is HOT.

  • LOL, kissobsessed! He was mine, too! I love Rudik and will always love him!!

  • crazy in ballet

  • The best in the world!!!!!!!

  • Indeed - Russian ballet FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
