As for stopping locking your brakes never work if you have traction by rolling you can cut over to the next lane or at least use the sidewalk if no one is on it...I rode on a sheet of ice once in Philly and everytime I would brake I would lose control but I did have control by just rolling along so I know that works at least to turn or switch lanes.... Of course I simply turned off that street asap....

Defensive driving well teach you that you should use a safe speed to begin with then if needed gently apply brake pressure, you cannot expect to stop on a dime in icy conditions and if your sliding turn in the opposite direction. @dkproulx But one thing on Ice it doesnt matter about braking. Defensive driving well teach you that you should use a safe speed to begin with then if needed gently apply brake pressure, you cannot expect to stop on a dime in icy conditions and if your sliding turn in the opposite direction. Maybe you should do some research and say something smart rather than condescending. BTW where are u from? Proud American.

it's understandable if you're on a slight decline, on ice or compacted snow that there's little control you'd have in a slide, you can clearly see in some of these instances drivers had their wheels turned, but had no control... given if someone is not experienced, or aware of the conditions until after it's too late, it doesn't necessarily make them idiots... if anything the description of this video was written by an idiot, as are the two people who jumped out of a moving vehicle.

In fact, it had the largest rate even in 1995. Lithuania sounds much worse than America, and I don't even like America. You say they are racist? They elected a black president with a Muslim father.
