@miasrestless I've heard that this song is about a Salvation Army worker. In any case, the line "she saved all those young men" would be hard to square with your interpretation of the song.

And just for the sake of argument... when a chap is used as a "booty call" by a female, is he then starring in the role of "Sally?" Comparing someone's situation to that of a prostitute is a rhetorical fallacy that should be avoided as much as possible, in my opinion.
