  • @442Mxkx for screen capturing I use Camtasia.

  • @00SOSNewbie00 Cool, thanks!

  • FUDGE. That's pretty amazingly awesomely epic!!!

  • This video proves that you don't need expensive eqiuptment to be an amazing designer (Although it sure as sh!t helps) Great vid.

  • 2:18 LMFAO

  • Please by my gfx guy/girl...please

  • how do you tracing the outline? is by manually?

  • found 6 person jealous XD

  • Lmao @ the song

  • You do this with a drawing tablet??

  • @iMstrKrft Not really, for vectors I always use the mouse.

  • wow really :)

  • fuck -.- its too much difficult, but I never will stop :F

  • @MrLecoStronda That's the right attitude :)

  • I'm working on a Bumble Bee Autobot head(actualy I'm juggling 3 pictures at once).

  • you can make its with photoshop?

  • please dont take any offense i am just curious...how did you learn to give so much detail in each character ...is it by practicing trial and error or did you use any technique or inspired from something...your characters are amazing

  • @freelancework89 Just practice :)

  • @00SOSNewbie00 Thank you for the response. i have been self teaching myself graphics designing for a year now. i mostly prefer illustrator to design characters. you seem to be proefficient in both but you seem to use photoshop more. which one do you like most and why? :) i was looking for a blog post in your newbie website ...like photoshop or illustrator for character designing. anyways take care. and do you use google+ :)

  • @freelancework89 You are welcome. It's just a personal preference, I feel more comfortable painting and drawing with brushes in Photoshop than dealing with vectors in Illustrator. I also feel that Photoshop's interface is much user friendly.

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

    owowowowow

    wowowqow

  • meio fraco , acho que falta mais pratica da sua parte .

  • this is amazing

  • lol what song is. that shit its funny man.

  • ...no idea what that was supposed to be..?

  • amazing..

  • thank you for this great tutorial.

  • this work is fantastic but the video is too fast, I even can´t see the tools that you used

  • Sorry buddy, the whole process is around 10-15 hours, impossible uploading so big video. Anyway I have some tutorial in my blog. Visit my channel to get the link.

  • @genius15lee PEN tool :) master it and illustrator will love you

  • Hey, could you please tell me which tools you use in illustrator? I know you use the pen tool for the outlines, but I am most curious on how you go about adding the shading/lighting throughout the drawing. Thanks!

  • @d2king10 I just use basic gradients and layers in fusion different models, mainly screen and multiply. Google for Twisted Monkey tutorial for more details.

  • Do you do your inking in Photoshop?

  • unbelievable! Love it. I'm trying to learn just how to do open ended paths within outlines and thought that was tricky enough... this is ridiculous!!

  • wow.. awesome, I like your vector style :D

  • wow the detail i actually thought you were done at 1:05 but i was very wrong. i cant imagine how long it took you to complete but it looks amazing

  • this shit is nuts lol ..... just started to pick up illustrator ...i used flash for my work to look vect but damn ..looks like i need to learn more on this one lol

  • shit man u are my hero!

  • How long did it take to make this (really awesome) work? Thanks

  • @JorgeSantosTV I spend around 15 hours for vectorial character designs like this.

  • @00SOSNewbie00 Did you draw the picture or did you just snag it from somewhere? BTW Great coloring!

  • @some14u2no Thanks, yes I did.

  • Pure talent!

  • I made an art but when I expand de image the elements doesn´t keep together, what should I do?

  • This art rocks. Nicely done.

  • Can't resist... the awesomeness!!! aaaaaaaaaaa

  • Hello, I'm an artist trying to make the jump to illustrator, one thing I'm trying to figure out is how you make the two tone blocks of colour you are using here for shading.

Sorry I don't know the technical term, is there more info about this somewhere?

  • @sausagesausage It´s just a gradient. I have a tutorial (google for "twisted monkey sosfactory" but should master the basics of Illustrator or it won´t be too helpful.

  • lmao @ the song. good work also

  • how exactly do you color the drawing?? im 17 JUST got this program and was able to do a drawing on here but i have no idea how to color it. so i saw your video saw that you were able to use the pen tool with a fill or im guessing but could you be kind enough to and tell me your process of coloring id greatly appreciate it! if not no worries! thanks!!!

  • @TheGabester16 Hi buddy, I have some tutorials in my blog sosfactory(dot)com/blog and I also wrote one for Smashing Magazine (Google for: "druken monkey tutorial".

But first you should cover the basics of Photoshop, if not will be quite difficult to follow.

  • @00SOSNewbie00 @00SOSNewbie00 thank you so much for getting back to me i really appreciate it! also i know how to work the pen tool somewhat i made an entire cartoon and colored it well so im getting to be ok id say and ill go look for your tutorials keep up the good work!

  • I wonder how it would feel the creator of this video if one day find that a band uses his work to create a video, but without giving credit for the graphic work. Humm?

  • @duvelr Hi buddy, this music is provided to Youtube by its creator, so I bet they are quite grateful that I use their music in my videos.

The reason why I don´t credit them is because I don´t remember who they are, and I have no idea how to look for their names. Actually the credits appears automatically in some videos but are missing in others, don´t ask me why.

If you do some research and find a way to find the name of the author I kindly will credit them.

  • @00SOSNewbie00 Hi,

Thank you for getting back to me. Now this seems a interesting task (research), I'll be back as soon as I have something!

  • @00SOSNewbie00

Hola Sergio, por aqui de regreso con noticias :-)

Storm Large (Storm, Inc.) Great Day

  • @duvelr ok, música de Storm Large (Storm, Inc.) Great Day. Gracias!

  • your very good at this, i have been interested in this type of design. Tho i havnt started but i am going to learn, i normally just do grafix and logo's for other websites, mainly forums. i use photoshop and i have been wondering which is best for making these kind of drawings. Should i get illustrator or just keep with photoshop and try drawing them? also, any tips on drawing them?

  • @123hazza321 I personally feel more comfortable and work faster with Photoshop but it´s just my preference. Tips? Practice, practice and practice... there is no secrets my friend.

  • @00SOSNewbie00 ahh thanks man, and i will tend to practice. obviously it will take some time to make ones as good as you can. but i hope to one day. thanks

  • @123hazza321

Ai is better than Ps for this type of work if you want to animate in FLash or upload to use on web sites .Vector graphics take up less space and for web development thats a must. Also you can scale up and down in Ai without loss in image quality.

  • It would've been nice if u did a tutorial on this. This is exactly wat im trying to learn. Im impressed with your work. Do you have a website where i can see more of ur work??

  • @laurap19 Thanks a lot buddy, yes, Google for "twisted monkey tutorial" on SOSFactory Blog, there is a vectorial tutorial about this.

  • You sir are awesome.

On a related note I find PS easy, Corel monkey-easy, Illustrator impossible.

Then again you convinced me to master it :)

  • @gleelash Thanks a lot and completely agree, I hate Illustrator.

  • how did you manage to keep it within the black? Just eyeballing? and the black lines are the top layer i assume?

  • @w0nd In Photoshop I usually put the outline on top and the color below, but for Illustrator I do just the opposite. The outline is a black shape and the color shapes are over it, I get this by using Live Trace over the inked bitmaps (done in Photoshop with my Wacom Cintiq). Check my blog for an Illustrator tutorial where I explain the process.

  • @00SOSNewbie00 thank you so much :) I will check it out

  • great! nice highlight!

  • where is the slow motion version !!!

  • @imranbug81 Sorry mate, impossible to upload severals hour of work on real time, but if you are interested in my blog I have some tutorial.

  • @00SOSNewbie00 Yeah man i think i know what are you saying... cuz i started drawing that monkey at you blog in illustrator tutorial... the way you guys explain it really become easy to draw but its taking way too much time all though i am using reference images and a guide.....

But you are one hell of a man really your color choices and ability to give enough details that it looks like 3d !! Really Bravo.

  • Did you use any plug-ins on this?

you are great in using the gradient tools and combining the colors to make it more realistic and shiny?

  • @greenrose100 Thanks buddy, no plugins :)

  • That's awesome... But it looks hard to draw with vectors, I prefer Photoshop/Painter+Pen tablet =D

  • when I grow up I wanta be just like you. I hope your other videos explain a little of that fancy gradient work. You're a master.

  • Wow, thats awesome!

  • Awesome! but wtheck is this song?...

  • Man this is so cool I really like ur process

I hope u do more illustrator clips

  • Fantastic job!

  • what does illustrator do

  • good stuff dude.

  • How much can you make from a graphic like this?

  • I see you skipped the part when you made everything looks really nice and shiny and together :P

  • Read description :)

  • The inking are so clean and tidy, tell what do you use pen tool or brush?

  • Its just a default brush.

  • I was wondering...

When you use that "silhouette" plugin for illustrator to convert your linework into vector, is there any advantage over the "live trace" function in Illustrator CS3?

  • Not really, latelly Im using live trace.

  • Thanks :)

  • Love your work, been following you for quite a while now on DeviantArt. I'm very impressed that you can bring your masterful raster style from Photoshop into the vector arena for scalable pieces. Forgive me, but I envy your skills. Nice job :)

  • what song is that?

  • Sorry, I cant remember, its song from Youtube audio settings, I was looking for it but no luck.

  • I googled the lyrics and the song is "Great Day" by Storm Inc. I liked this song a lot too so I had to find out what it was, and I figured since apparently other people would like to know I would share the love.

  • Pues nada, campeón, a recuperarse y a seguir deleitándonos con tus fantásticos "tutos".

    Un abrazo. ;-)

  • This is awesome... I would love a more clearer explanation on how to do the shadows on vector, specially the gradient shadows. That is what I want to lear to do the most!

But I guess I'll have to stick with Photoshop then!

  • If you want a more detailed explanation please, visit the link in the description, also there is some others tutorials about Photoshop :)

    Saludos :)

  • I prefer your Photoshop effect better!

  • I feel much more confortable with Photoshop too, but sometime clients ask me vectors for big printing.
