I booted the game just to check; there were 14 people on 1 server, 2 people on a 2nd server, and 1 person all alone on a 3rd server. It's "Saturday Night Prime Time" as I write this, so I think it's safe to say that Prejudice is pretty much dead. It's a decent game that never caught on. I would recommend passing on in it.
I feel so bad for Section 8. I wanted it to be a real hit, it has some charm, and the spawning sequence is awesome! But it lacked that great game feeling! I don't see too much chance that it'll be redemed one day :(

Unfortunately, I suffer from the bug where both my single-player and online status keep getting wiped out; the forums are filled with people having those issues. So, 10 hours of play, but no progress to show for it. I'm hoping they fix that soon, because I won't play it again until they do.

There are some free programs out there, and the Xfire game tool includes a decent capture feature (although not of the same quality as Fraps). Fraps also takes screenshots, it can capture the Windows desktop, it can capture audio (including your mic), and it has a frames-per-second overlay that you can use to benchmark your games. With Fraps, you get lifetime free upgrades, and I highly recommend it.

Of those 30 servers, only ONE had people playing on it, while two others each had one (presumably very lonely) person waiting for a game to start.
While S8 is a decent game, there's simply too much competition out there. Perhaps it will fare better on the PS3, but I would advise against purchasing it now.

Unfortunately not. For some reason, the developer stopped working on the PS3 version, and the community for the game on Xbox LIVE has nearly died out. The PC community still plays and supports the game, although it's a very small group compared to most multi-player games.
There were some rumors regarding a delayed release for PS3 (sometime this year), but the last update on that was mid-2009. And seeing as how the game has only done so-so in sales, a PS3 port seems unlikely.

Um, I'm not certain if your reply was meant for a different review? I don't even mention BF2142 anywhere in the review, although I'm sure that others have made the comparison since both are tactical team-based shooters.
I'm a fan of both games, although I think both games are on the downward slide. Section 8 just never gained wide support, and BF2142 has had a good long life, but people are moving on to other things. It's very rare for online-only games to have a strong, long-lasting base.

There is no cost for GFWL. There used to be, but MS figured out that it was a big mistake real quick. Be advised that there are very few heavily populated servers out there. The community supporting this game is VERY small, but they do care about the game and most matches, if a bit disorganized at times, are fun.

Does the PC Version seem to have an acceptable player base for online gameplay. As in, are there enough people online normally or are the number of games somewhat scarce.
Well, one of the things that makes answering your question difficult is the fact that full servers are filtered out from the server list. However, even if we were to assume that for every server listed there was also a full server not being shown, the server count is pitifully small compared to...well, everything else.
