thx...lately i've been going for the ravens and doves, but i might attempt them as well again some time. maybe during winter they might be more willing. they are very sociable and friendly birds.
@JDzPiT Please don't feed them bread, it's REALLY bad for them!! Their digestives systems are designed for liquid foods and a few sunflower seeds. Bread can cause crop infections and problems in their gut. If you must feed them please give them the proper food and a few sunflower seeds. You are slowly killing them with your "kindness"!
@damlyn9 Hi Point taken. After posting the clip I did some research and since found out that bread and chocolate and sugar, lettuce and a few other things are really bad for them. Feeding them seeds wears away the feathered ends of their tongues and then they cant feed on nectar. I now feed them fruit and wet lorry mix as well as dry mix. I had no intention of killing them with kindness. I guess it is lucky I took the time to find out what they need.
@JDzPiT Hi. Thank you for not feeding them bread anymore. I know you didn't mean to do them any harm, but I always feel the need to let people know that they are actually doing birds harm by feeding them bread. Not just the lorikeets but all wild birds. I feed them daily in my back yard too, but they get a wet mix and fruit. They can have a few sunflower seeds as the hulls are soft enough so they don't harm their feathery tongues. Please see my videos of the lorikeets feeding. Thanks.

@jole523 Hey, I just use white bread torn up and mixed with plain water. They go crazy for it :) Love to see some pics if you get them to feed :)
