  • that is absolutely amazing <3

  • I have not seen a horse skip but I have seen a horse switch leads over and over again on cue. ;) Lol

  • This is my favorite gait! It looks so fun, I've always wanted to ride it!

  • what an awkward canter

  • @7upluva Actually, they were switching leads from left to right it's a difficult dressage move.

  • @JasperIsaLittleHorse oh sorry i havent been riding that long let alone even think about learning dressage ...sorry bout tht^_^

  • Přeskoky jsou ÚPLNĚ NORMÁLNÍ drezurní cvik !

  • upper level dressage move...

  • i love seeing those tempi changes! my horse and i startes flying lead changes, but not anywhere near that! very nice. nice horse too!

  • Very nicely done.

  • Aww <3

  • Zippity doo da...

  • something tells me that rider has hard hands...

  • it can be also call single time flying changes, people calls it different things :) really nice video

  • Yeah, its supposed to do that in Dressage.

  • yes I have :)

  • or a tempi change

  • (read description) it's called a flying change

  • the horse is cantering? :P

    duuuuuuuuuuuh!!!

  • @JumpHigh401 Wow, really? I believe you are the idiot here, because it clearly says in the description that the poster knows they are actually called tempi changes. Tempi changes DO look like skipping and there is no denying that.

  • @JumpHigh401 Did you read the description under the video? Idiot.

  • @horsegirl4k2 Not really that simple. My instructor has a 10 yr old she has been working on flying changes and tempis for 3 years and the horse still can't get it right. And he is very sensitive.

  • Lol, So Funny, So Cute

  • I hate dressage...

  • @Iveyr123 Why? Cause it's "hard"? (Yes, I am a Dressage Rider.)

  • @MissMerMer1980 No Not becasue it is hard ( I very much think its hard.. very hard) I just don't like it. I hinestly think its a lot on the horse and I don't like pulling on the mouth so much Yes it looks fun and hard but I just don't lik eit! I do natural horsemanship. But this is just my opion.

  • it looks like the horse is having loads of fun lol

  • OMG amazing

  • theyer off to see the wizard

  • no not really

  • aww the horse reminds me of a little girl with pigtails skipping down the sidewalk with a lolly pop <3 <<--- wow i'm such a little kid...

  • it looks like a cool canter to me.

  • tempi changes... my horse wont even do flying

  • Now this kind of display I can back. Such beautiful creatures...this is the way horses should be put on display and NOT in dangerous horse races and rodeos!

  • I can get my horse to do 3 tempi lead changes...but it's supremely difficult. I don't even want to know what would come out if I tried THIS...

  • How cute! What a beautiful horse.

  • I can barely get my horse to do a flying at a gallop in a wide open field! This is impressive :D

  • yes i have you idiot thats when the horse changes foot while galoping

  • WOW, a flying change every stride. very impressive

  • Now I have.

  • Oh My Gosh! This Is Amazing! Its Like UHHHH! Incredable! x(: Good Work

  • that horse is brilliant!

  • What a beautiful horse :D

  • OMG THIS IS SO COOL, my horse cant even trot when i say trot, you have to kick like, ten times :L Hes lazy, but this horse is AMAZING!

  • yes

  • WOOOOOOOW!! :D

  • A dressage horse just does flying lead changes. There are four types. Flying lead in four beat move ments when the horse does 4 strides on a lead then changes. same with 3 and 2. one beat move ment is when a horse canters one stride then lead changes canters a stride then changes creating the appearence that a horse is skipping... :) hope that helped confused minds

  • OMG Lead change with every stride. Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

  • I think this looks cute :]

  • prettty sure this is also called par faying right?

  • is that cantering or skipping?

  • @AndrewMaster521 Its known as Tempi Changes.... and yes its done in the canter. A very collected canter.

  • thats so cool

  • Amazing tempis, wow!!! Personally, I like watching Eitan Beth-Halachmy and his horses strutting their stuff...

  • Ever seen a CAMEL "skipping"? :D I have!! For real, a camel did a flying change :) In an interview the rider said it had taken him like 7 years to teach the female camel to do it exactly as the horses in advanced dressage :)

  • OMG thats a really fancy canter :L

  • blue hors matine did this better than any other horse i have ever seen in the WEG2006 freestyle final.. be sure and check it out .. it will leave you in awe....

  • FYI Gran Gesto has white socks in front, Neil's horse at the time (Lonestar) does not, though they are both dark bays. Neil is also 6ft4, the rider in this video is not that tall :)

  • Are you sure this is Neil? I'm pretty sure that is Jacqueline Brooks on Gran Gesto.

  • @daisykosa Yepp, In the video description I have already corrected the video. It is Jacqueline and Gran Gesto.

  • Beautiful, its absolutely mesmerizing. Bravo!

  • Look at Jan Brink and Briar - amazing... <3

  • That was a beasty flying change :)

  • flying change...(:

  • Flying changes are sooooo beautiful

  • dressage is soo beautiful, even though i am a jumper myself, it would be cool to do dressage also

  • he`s not skipping the horse is changing their lead in the canter.

  • @SmileySmileSmile21 Which looks like skipping, so its skipping.

  • @Hushpuppygirl But SmileySmileSmile21 was correct. It's not skipping at all. As most of the comments stated, its a temi change(commonly called a flying-lead change).

  • @Hushpuppygirl It's not skipping, it's actually different. It's called a tempi change, meaning the horse is changing its lead repeatedly.

  • this is my fav move

  • what is the difference between a flying change and a tempi change?

  • @RooWallaby Tempi changes are flying lead changes repeatedly. For example a 2 tempis change is a lead change every two strides! :)

  • @BacilaMioCaro I thought it was when the horse only changed his/her front lead and not the back... is that right because that is what my trainer told me.

  • thats called a flying change freak

  • I want to teach my Arabian to do that. :D

  • wow that is beautiful

  • Wow thats Amazing!

  • Yes.

  • gail^^ da wo ich reite sind die pferde sau schreckhaft...die gehen schon durch wenn jemand außerhalb der Reithalle Fegt xDD

  • Comment removed

  • @RissaLacey12 they aren't forcing, it's called collection it actually helps them to move better. now in some cases some riders do do it in a cruel way *cough anky van grunsven cough* which would be called rollkur and is in no way collection, and that does give them back problems. but this is just collection. so please learn your facts before giving misaccusations

  • what a beautiful horse and wonderfull riding what type of horse is she or she?

  • isnt he amazing ? he boards at my coop. he is the sweetest guy ever

  • The connection between the horse and rider is beautiful here! I do Hunter Jumper...but I think I would love dressage!

  • great.. songname? :)

  • this is the single most amazing thing i have ever seen. in my entire life.

  • i think dressage is so amazing i swear it!

  • beautifal

  • aren't they just lead changes?

  • @crazywatergirl923 it is a series of changes called tempis. Very difficult to do.

  • @BacilaMioCaro I was showing EQ on my paint horse and the pattern WANTED me to do a circle on the wrong lead (Note this is a Paint Breed show) and my horse had this fight about what lead he should be on. He did lead changes in a row, on the circle, one after another -.- still got second (I know right? weird.)

  • @SeeYaOnSondee Maybe he wants to be a dressage horse ;-)

  • @BacilaMioCaro I call him an undercover Dressage Paint! :3 He LOVES Western Riding and is OBSESSED with flying lead changes :) If I practice my pattern and do the lead change in practice, Ill go in the show ring and he will try to switch throughout the whole pattern O.O

Plus I was riding western and was loping (Slow lope) and I felt him stop but I could still feel the rocking. He was loping in place -.-

  • that is actually called a tempi change. it is a dressage move that is in third level eventing....

  • yes

  • thats a canter doing flychanges

  • my friends horse can do this hes seven she trained him to do a load of things !!! shes 15!!!!!!!! shes amazin and soo is tobie <3

  • The tempis!!

  • That is so cool :] I always thought dressage was boring, but I am really into it now :D

  • That's pretty awesome, freestyle is amazing to watch.

I was lucky enough to ride a Grand Prix stallion, smoothest ride ever! It was like cantering in a sofa :D

Hopefully one day I'll be able to do one-tempi changes on my boy!

  • its called "flying lead changes". and when the horse is going sideways, its called "side passing" and "leg yeilding".

  • That "Skip" must be so lovely to ride.

  • I want that music! I know it's from a movie, but I can't remember it. Alexander, maybe?

  • tht aint skiping dumb dumb its dressage

  • @mikaeladrake That ain't skipping dumb dumb it called the flying lead change. READ THE DESCRIPTION STUPID. Of COURSE it's dressage but if you READ THE DESCRIPTION you would know that it said it is NOT CALLED SKIPPING. Quit being retarded hypocrite!

  • AMAZING

  • its called flying lead changes

  • Lol

  • i luv dressage its awesome

  • my horse did this and she didnt do dressage xD i thought she was cross cantering and rearing haha

  • nice lead changes and collected canter! pretty horse

  • I love this dressage gait

  • flying change yes

  • Wow that's intense! Basic dressage, I can barely do, haha. Wish I can do that.

  • HOLY COW PEOPLE NO DUH ITS NOT SKIPPING BUT MAYBE YOU SHOULD READ THE DESCRIPTION!!! IT'S JUST A FUN VIDEO!!! hahaha btw loved it!

  • Thanks - always wondered if a horse could change leads with each stride. Thought I'd have to create an animation of it!

  • Im having sooo many problems with my horse... idk what to do. I would love to do this stuff, you guys are great!

  • it matches with the music so well! :)

  • lol love this

  • Flying change on each stride, Good though!

  • hes just doing a lot of lead changes

  • its NOT skipping its doing lead changes!! duh!

    ;)

  • it isnt skippng its doing a flying change on every stride

  • this horse isnt skippin its a well trained dressage horse doin 1 time changes!! x

  • Those are tempi changes every stride xD But it looks like they're skipping.

  • that a flying change

  • That's pretty awesome!!! I imagine dressage would be a very rewarding sport. Just that feeling when the horse does exactly what you ask it :)

  • i actually have seen a horse skip

  • These are Tempis, haha but really pretty.

  • This isn't skipping, this is a professional horse doing a Flying Change.

    Lovely video though!

  • @MissIndependant1995 Read the video description. It's called tempi changes - closest thing to skipping a horse will get.

  • Cool! My horse can't even canter. He goes all mad at me for the rest of the day!

  • flying lead change at canter... no, it's not skipping, but its pretty :)

  • not a skip flying lead change.

  • hah, first time Ive ever seen lead changes like that. Sure does look like skipping tho

  • that horse looks really happy! he's lifting his legs high and you can tell the rider really loves him!

  • someone just made a fool out of thereselfs :D

  • Someone did not read the info!

  • dude he's not skipping thats called flying changes, where the horses switches which foreleg goes out the farthest when cantering ever other stride (sometimes every few strides)

  • s/he mentioned that s/he was not literally saying the horse was skipping, read the description, as s/he put in the beginning of the vid

  • thats amizing what a beutiful horse!

  • i tried that once! yeah its hard, i only got like 3 lead changes in a row

  • love it

  • Those are tempis... a collected canter that is changed leads every stride/ssevereal strides.

  • thats so cool! :O

  • leuk hoor!

  • Aww...beautiful! :)))

  • it looks like a little girl dancing off to school. she's doing a flying lead change every stride. Cool

  • I would love to learn how to do that! It would take years, though. And all we do is learn jumping..phooey. I'm really interested in Dressage.

  • now thats skill

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful flying changes!

  • I can't imagine how long it would take to train a horse to do that!

  • Isn't that amazing? It's beautiful. I barrel race, so I never see that. My horse does flying lead changes, though. =)

  • the horse is doing flying lead changes every second stride

  • actually, these are 1 tempis. the horse is doing a flying lead change every stride. 2 tempis are flying lead changes every other stride.

  • When I went t my first PSG show when I was 3 I screamed "that horse is skipping" when the horse did the tempis... LOL!

  • lol. Yeah, it's quite fascinating to watch!

    Thanks for watching! =)

  • yeah...it actually does look like horse skipping...yeah people i know what it really is...but ive never realised before =]

  • This is amazing! I've gotten to ride a Saint Prix George horse, he was really smooth. And has amazing flying leap changes. I really want to try Dressage, but currently doing jumping

  • That's great. Horses who compete in the Prix St. George are very talented, and you are lucky to have been able to ride one =)

    Thanks for watching!

  • They can easily be combined. Doing dressage with any horse will improve its flexibility and responsiveness to aids if done correctly and make it able to jump better.

  • Absolutely !

Jumping is just dressage with obstacles !

  • its tempi

but that is the techniacal term but yes they are lead changes

    and its called 1 tempi

  • It's called Tempi Changes :)

  • its called flying lead changes

  • it's not skipping

    it's lead changes

  • Horses (and riders!) must be very agile to do this!

It's a big effort changing leads on every single stride.

Great video, maybe if people realised just how hard these horses work for us and how hard we work for them they could appreciate them/us.

    Oh well =)

  • i'm new to the whole horse technical words thing - but was the horse constantly changing the leading leg?

i'm trying to recognise these things lol

  • lol its dressage and speaking of that i have to go and see my pony good bye! And nice video

  • one-tempis not only look like skipping, but feel like it too! it's an amazing feeling. it is so much fun!

  • lol it does look like TONS of fun ! I've never ridden it though, but it would be awesome!

    Thanks for watching =)

  • so cool!! =]

  • jackie is such an amazing rider! i looked after her horses when they were boarded at my old farm. not only is she a great rider, she is a really nice person. unlike some of the stuck up professionals:P
