We could count on him to protect the country after 9/11. Obama, we do not have that safety.

The problem with this film is Oliver Stone directed it. As a liberal, he gave us conservatives way too much credability with this. He doesn't make historical films based on what happened, but on how he thinks they should have happened. Look at Alexander, JFK, Nixon, and Salvador.

They kind of played up the idea of Bush having this big Oedipus complex in this movie. I actually do believe that Bush does suffer from trying to be better than his dad while also trying to prove himself, but they really overdid it here.
I liked this movie. It didn't only focus on the presidency, but also on his adult life. Yale, the oil rig, the rangers, the governorship, how he met and maried Laura, etc..... It was worth seeing.

I supported Bush up until the Iraq war. I felt like the need to invade Iraq came out of left field. Then I started to really dislike him and think of him as a lying villain. This movie kind of made me sympathetic toward him as it portrayed him as a well-meaning dummy who was a puppet to Dick Cheney's menacing, power-grubbing. I supported Bush up until the Iraq war. I felt like the need to invade Iraq came out of left field. Then I started to really dislike him and think of him as a lying villain. This movie kind of made me sympathetic toward him as it portrayed him as a well-meaning dummy who was a puppet to Dick Cheney's menacing, power-grubbing. It kind of humanized the guy, while still insisting that his presidency was an utter failure.
