This was right after Carkner injured Boogaard. Carkner broke Godard's face in a few places in this one. If you watch the 24/7 series with the Pens & Caps, you'll see a shot of Godard in the background of the training room a couple days after this fight. His whole face was swollen and bruised. It looks unreal. The fact that Godard stayed on his feet is remarkable.

It wasn't a beating, Carkner landed one shot to the face which cut Godard...big deal. Around the eye is probably the easiest place to get cut, and like a cut to the scalp it bleeds alot. It didn't even stun Godard. Carkner's a clown, no class. Every time he wins a fight he's yapping. He seems to forget the ones where he was knocked on his ass. How did that work out for him with Orr?
