you gave up too soon on pouliot, and the habs gave up too soon on latendresse. both will have fine careers. some players take longer to develop...

pouliot has an incredible skill set plus he's a pretty big guy, his biggest problem was motivation....i guess same problem which lats possessed. both players needed a change to get motivated.

i'd take pouliot over both skille and oshie...but not kopitar. people passed on kopitar, because slovenia isnt a hockey hotbed.

ya i definitely agree with you. im sick of the wild not giving our prospects a chance to play on the 1st 2nd or even 3rd line. im very concerned for james sheppard because when lemaire was coaching here he turned him into a defensive player when in juniors he was getting monster points! so instead of him just being an undressed skater for the wild, why not just send him to Houston, let him rack up some points and get his offensive skill and confidence back. so thanks a lot jacques

Gainey and Martin aren't much better. they're turning Pacioretty into a defensive 3rd/4th line forward instead of letter him develop in the AHL properly. He won rookie of the year in the NCAA averaging overage a point a game.

@corunguneee Pacioretty didn't prove shit when he played with the habs.Hopefully next season he will become the power forward we are hoping for.Keep your eye on Eller.I have a feeling he will become a very good center for the habs.

yah some teams really suck at player development, like corungunee just said the habs suck at it too. it's pretty depressing to see because the habs have the most drafted players that are in the NHL, but most of these players thrived in different cities. pacioretty is getting ruined in the NHL, he has no confidence and could really use some time in the AHL just like sheppard. Every NHL team should take notes from the red wings in regards to player development.

latendresse already has amazing chemistry with havlat. top line next year will most likely be them two with koivu centering them. and i have a feeling sheppard is going to be a late bloomer and impress some people this year.

if pouliot would have been properly coached by the wild he could have easily been a crosby or ovechkin. he was actually ranked the same as crosby in the 05 draft. pouliot will be a tank for sure! im guessing your a habs fan.. how do you feel about halak going to the blues?

@mefirstthanks well, to tell the truth, i wasn't surprised.We gave up the goaler that would give us more in return.A lot of Blues fans are dissapointed that they gave up Eller.I'm glad we kept Price even though Halak was much better.Price is only 22 and they say a goalie hits his peek at around 24-25.Price has the talent to totally rob games but he lacks a bit of maturity.
