Anyways, Kids fans like to say their new stuff is too low-brow and grotesque. I present this sketch as Exhibit A that they were ALWAYS into low-brow comedy.
@DivisibleByWaffle No im not gonna lighten up... your type of comment is the enabler for people like this to continue to make fun of white people. Its disgusting if this was black you wouldnt be telling us to lighten up. White people have "Lightened up" long enuff. If we are to respect other races then we get it to. So no I will not lighten up. Whats fair for darky is fair for whitey PERIOD
@liquidvideotube You're a bit of a fucking idiot, aren't you? This has nothing to do with being black or white, it's about nationality. White people are from a lot of places. Canada, for instance. Americans make fun of Canadians all the time! It's refreshing to see it the other way around for once.
@DivisibleByWaffle no your the fucking idiot because you dont see it. You live in your lala land with your comment. If you cant see what is being done to white people by the leftist media and the anti white hollywood culture then you are the FUCKING IDIOT. The white male father figure is constantly portrayed by hollywood as an idiot. It started with Homer Simpson. Try opening your eyes before your mouth. I have followed this for a very long time.
@liquidvideotube: Yea, but you are the reason why those characters are written ... weak, ignorant, scared little boys disgracing their country to the rest of the world. You are the real life joke those characters are based on. Can you try making your point without cursing and tossing insults at whoever disagrees with you? Seriously, it just makes you sound like your parents are cousins.
something that Canadians and Americans never like to admit is how similar we are. we have the same rednecks here in Canada... just with a different accent
@GuruJudge21 ...I was simply making a reference to the origin of the term "red-neck" working in the cold of the Canadian north will make men out of mice...I used to roof in the winter...{and for the American's} "I used to ruuf in the winter"...
All of the people getting upset over this sketch need to lighten up. It is just a spoof of the stereotypical American redneck. If you have watched the Kids in the Hall you would know that they made fun of Canadian stereotypes as well. I agree it is not their best sketch by comedy standards, but if you are actually offended by it then perhaps you should be watching Glen Beck so you can get a fix of over the top jingoism. Just for the record, I am an American who grew up down south.
@PoutinePete i agree, i'm american and i think this is amazingly funny! and even i think americans shouldn't be offended, we make jokes about canadians, so we should learn to laugh at our selves(: i know i do!
@PoutinePete Yeah this is funny but its another racist pot shot at middle america. Typical to make fun of a white cowboy redneck type. If he was black they would have never done it. Im tired of this racist bullshit
@PoutinePete well just because you are a racist asshole doesnt make your lame violin playing any more important. Tired of you anti white motherfuckers DIE
I like how Kids in the Hall is completely hit and miss. Sometimes they're brilliant and other times they go to Mad TV levels of stupidity.
I mean one could say because I'm American I don't find this funny, but honestly, if we reversed Americans/Canadians in this clip my opinion wouldn't change. It wasn't funny or clever.
@Kacen well im canadian and for you how about we throw in some nigga rap, some hill billy music all done by cheap mexican labour living in trailer park trash style for you? eh?
@Xeidasx My point was this was extremely low-brow and completely unclever.
If hypothetically it was Canadians being portrayed as retarded I would still feel the same way. This is very bad compared to other Kids in the Hall skits. It's dumb. Plain and simple.
"Hehhe funny americans r stoopid" - That's the gist of this comedy act. It's not funny at all.
Actually, even if the guy wasn't American, it would still be unfunny.
@Kacen This video is what it is and you would have to be a Canadian to see how we view Americans, Ill sum it up in a few words, ignorant, arrogant. Ive had my fair share of bar brawls sending americans home with some canadian hospitality
Are Americans overconfident? Sure. But the biggest population of 'Dub T' I've ever seen came pouring over the border into northern Maine from New Brunswick every weekend. Mind you the residents of Aroostook county, ME are not erudite by any means, but they look down right snooty compared with the shabbily dressed, jalopy cruising welfare cases that try to haggle and complain about the costly prices at Walmart. Regardless, I like Canada and Canadians...and Tim Horton's.

A really bad Texan accent as well, but what can you expect from a group that pronounces about as "aboot?" I guess ignorance and stereotyping abound there as well.
Probably a better Texan accent than you can do a Canadian accent (it's actually abEWT, not abOOT). You probably experienced Canadians as bitter and dull because you didn't get their sense of humour, and/or b) they didn't like you. Judging from your attitude, it's not hard to see why.
Oh, you don't have to, taiyo06, we understand your little "eh?" and "aboot." Besides you're really dull as it is, so you may want to up the tempo, schmuck.

@Semir313 incorrect, i've never visited the south, the 'southern' 'redneck' accent everywhere (search youtube for "david cross redneck voice" {apparently i can't have a link in a comment?} ) . the 60% I'm talking about were for the most part from northern new york. .. cool dudes, funny as hell to talk too. ... hell I know a guy that talks like that, and we grew up 5 minutes away from each other IN CANADA haha

I think it's great, finally Americans are getting made fun of a bit. too long us canadians have politely smiled and nodded as we have been made fun of.
Meh, he's supposed to be a caricature. It's funny if you just sort of step outside of your nationality for a moment. Besides, I think I've met that guy. As far as archetypes go, he's a very real one. Actually though, I feel that as a nation, America is more prudish than crude... so I am a little confused.

You know, it's really too bad that the crab man is our president. My apologies from this side of the border.

I think it's great, finally Americans are getting made fun of a bit. too long us canadians have politely smiled and nodded as we have been made fun of.

Are you serious? America makes fun of it's self all the time. It's too bad that KITH is no more. These guys were great!
