I don't think the on-rails will make that much of a difference as long as they keep the pacing just right. There's still puzzles, zero g, stasis, telekinesis and exploration (via branching pathways).
I hear sometimes you move really slow, for tension, and sometimes you break into a sprint to get away from monsters. If they balance this to match the pace with that of a 3rd person game, it could be revolutionary for on-rails games.

A rail shooter is a first person game where you only shoot at the target you dont choose where you move you are moved to a point and you have to shoot from there, think house of the dead or time crisis
I'm one of those with the attitude of "not another on-rails shooter" for wii, but after seeing interviews and seeing screens, I'm getting more interested in this one. I'm definitely more excited for extraction than darkside chronicles, and I'm an RE fan.

The graphics wouldnt be bad at all. You really also need to work on your spelling. The Wii can run up to 420p in terms of graphics. And some of its upcoming games actually look better than Halo 3. A fine example is The Conduit.

You idiot, all the videos on youtube have crappy quality therefore dont show the true Conduit. The COnduit looks better than halo 3.. Gladiator AD looks better than Halo 3. AND The Grinder will be BETTER than halo 3

You dont know which is better. Halo 3 is way overrated. MGS4 is much better and actualyl DESERVES its reputation. Halo 3 doesnt.. The COnduit is just as good as halo 3 >_>

Halo3 was shit (but the first was awesome), MGS4 was a pile of puke too though... well combat wasnt bad, but the story?
Fucking hell it was awful. Anyway on topic, the internet is no excuse to abuse the english language, its not exactly taxing to type correctly. Oh and i dont see much point in these 18+ games on the Wii tbh, since the majority of owners are families or kids themselves.

i wish that they would make it like the xbox460 and ps3 versions too. I know that sometimes control schemes dont work, but EA could have easily used the RE4 control scheme. i still think that this game could be fun though. We'll see.

This new DS is just EA all over:
1) now on the Wii only?! - and IT IS part of the DS universe and story
2) not third person, which worked brilliantly
3) on the rail (it might turn out to be a hit but doubtful)
I don't own a Wii and buying it just for one game seems stupid, i feel i can't win with this one. I'm totally into the DS story, i want to see the prequel and as it's a game i want to play it as well. So disappointed.

It seems ok from the trailer but fi it wasnt dead space it would be good , I love dead space but it seems like they are selling otu an awsum game into a doomed market, A market dominated by children and ignored housewives, its a shame to see them sell out an awsum new franchise already, but thats ea for ya, I mean how can you turn a very slow paced survial horror that had very werid firearms and use them in a into a rail shooter? I'm one of those with the attitude of "not another on-rails shooter" for wii, but after seeing interviews and seeing screens, I'm getting more interested in this one. I'm definitely more excited for extraction than darkside chronicles, and I'm an RE fan.

There's a mutilation engine in this game and a lot of gore.
It'll have all the weapons from Dead Space, with a couple more, each with an alternate fire.

This is much more then a rail shooter.
They are trying to evolve on the rail shooter genre.
There will be puzzles.
There will be paths that you choose.
There will be no cut scenes and everything will be seamless in realtime.
And there will be places where you have full 360 degree camera freedom.
This is much more then a House of the dead game. It´s taking it a step further.
