  • This film is amazing! Heck and I hate Bioshock, not a fan of it at all!

  • so bioshock got idea's from this i see... hmmm gona watch the movie now..looks eerie

  • @rellik619555

Don't forget this is one of Inception's influences, see any similarities between this and Inception?

  • @Johnlindsey289 oh i never seen inception.

  • Can you take this to Hellraiser V Inferno What a Wonder young Boy comment, Goes to Show you some people only relate to identical twins! maybe even helps rebuild & regenerate formulas is insurance vs. 50/50 Brain loss or 100%! Still nothing accomplished you win some you lose some than you draw to see if musical chairs wins swatching places!

  • This is one of my favorite movies ever!

  • I just saw this movie for the first time about 2 nights ago and I just love this! It's a genius movie. Very unique indeed!

  • Holy shit, this movie looks creepier than Eraserhead O__O

  • I saw this movie when I was in my early 20's and it's a true work of sheer genius! This was long before CGI fake backgrounds were used and directors really had to use their imaginations to deliver. Comparing this movie to a video game is very ignominious and stupid of you!!!!!

  • thanks

  • This one giving me the creeps

    I got to see this

  • HOLY SHIT! It's Ron Pearlman! I got to see this, lol.

  • this is the greatest steampunk movie!

  • this is one of my favorite movies of all time

  • Man, this IS heavy!

  • I saw this just recently. It's marvelous.

  • i first saw this movie when i was like 9

    lol

  • @Darkmaxmuk Same for me ... I love Jean Pierre Jeunet, but he gave me nightmares with this one ! I'm glad we, French people, have such a talented director ! :)

  • i love surrealism films. they excite me.

  • This confuses but I am interested in what I just saw so might as well check it out.

  • A brilliant film, but the trailer really doesnt do it justice.

  • The best Terry Gilliam movie Terry Gilliam never made.

  • What's the name of this song?

  • @AndrejKorenic

It's called L'anniversaire D'irvin. If you search "City of Lost Children OST" on YT it should be the first option.

  • Like Inception it's a movie about nothing that makes shallow people think they are deep, artistic and intelligent. It's all about the visuals great for someone who is stoned or anyone who wants to pretend they understand the story,.

  • @SHADOW10621 Except...Inception had a story that was relatively easy to follow. Break into man's dreams -> convince him to break up his father's company. It's...very simple.

  • Alex Proyas would disagree with you, and so would I. He would also tell you that it's not essential that movies are understood, just that they effect you somehow. I thought this was a very good film. I do not pretend that somehow makes me deep, or artistic though.

  • @JunmaiShu

Did you know Nolan and Zack Snyder are fans of Jean Pierre Jeunet's works? true fact and you can tell that this movie influenced many movies including Inception and Sucker Punch to even Dark City. I mean did you also thought of this movie when you saw Inception?

  • Ron Perlman all up in there speakin' French.

  • @WhatEverGameing before Bioshock, you fucking noob

  • bioshock MUCH?!?!?!!?

  • @WhatEverGameing You need to get out more - try something other than gaming and you will realise just how derivative and boring computer games are.

  • NASSJAA I AGREE

  • this trailer kinda made me shit my pants just a little bit

  • What's Ron Perlman doing here? lMAO

  • wtf did I just watch.

  • @brendonwife that's what i'm wondering lol

  • it seems like sucha kid movie but they rated r why tho i think the rating system for everythings a little off....

  • @MyOnlyLoveMusic It's not a kids movie. very dark.

  • Well.....this film looks perfectly normal

  • as steampunk as it gets. Brilliant.

  • @dovie2blue Nope.

  • @Zeanu And you are the expert I take it?

  • @dovie2blue Nnnope.

  • does anyone know what is the French game played on board, dice, with little horses moving along the squares? I remember seeing it in one of Jeunet's films.

  • @Microglia1 its called chess?

  • Majestic & Haunting, it's like a Nightmare from a Child.

  • Look at them tittys at 0:43

  • @BreannaBanana0032 Huge tits, ilove boobies boob boob titty titty bum bum poo

  • @BreannaBanana0032 Big effin FUN BAGS!

  • @BreannaBanana0032

    ...Viva la France.

  • @BreannaBanana0032 damn! this is a good pair, i'll f#*´!ck her every bloody hour

  • The trailer is what really inspired me to actually watch the film... Great movie!

    Fuck you Beefking69er

  • Brilliant film!

  • @TheAltair4

Yes it is, did you too watched this on video at 15 as well? i rented this and Brazil as a double feature and they left huge impressions on me. I did read reviews of this movie in the papers and magazines especially Sci-fi magazine and was hypnotized by the trailer, a brilliant work of Science Fiction and Fantasy together. Do you think this movie influenced Inception, Dark City, Fifth Element, The Matrix and other movies? it was my first foreign language movie in subtitles

  • @Johnlindsey289 I saw it on video when i was 16 and it blew me away. It definitely was influential for movies like Fifth Element, Dark City, Matrix, Inception etc.

  • After seeing the trailer to it back in 96 when i was 15 on a video and reading magazine articles with it's poster in Sci-fi magazine and reading good reviews on it, i knew i had to rent it. I rented it with Brazil and both movies left an impression on me. One of the best Science Fiction and fantasy movies ever. Without this movie there'd be no Dark City, BioShock or Inception.

  • the most visually superb movie of all time i first saw it as a children and its the visual style on which I judge everything else

  • I wish that someone could have introduced this movie to me when I was a kid :( I would have loved it..............

  • Bioshock ripped off from this movie big time

  • @Alos21

Inflienced you mean. Would you compare this movie to Inception? this is another movie that Nolan brorowed for his newest movie.

  • @Alos21 All things rip something from somewhere else, like the works of William Shakespeare. I mean, look at Warcraft. It ripped off Dungeons and Dragons. Star Wars ripped off footage of WW 1 dogfights as well as martial art movies and movies with samurai.

  • @Alos21 Bioshock worked really well as a game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Besides, no one knows this movie, so Bioshock conveyed a concept this movie failed to popularize.

  • @Hayashigame LOL no one knows bioshock!! almost half a millon views can prove you wrong! this is a cult movie dude and I am sorry if you hang out with a fast& furious fans

  • @Alos21 Dude your profile pic is Vin Diesel, don't act like you're a movie connoisseur. Also, if you want to crunch the numbers, this movie had a box office of about 18 million. Divided by ticket prices, that's about 3-4 million tickets. The first Bioshock game alone sold 4 million copies, as did the second one. La Cité des Enfants Perdus failed, Bioshock succeeded. Still, you're right, the creators should have given this movie some credit, for the basic concept.

  • @Hayashigame

"La Cité des Enfants Perdus failed, Bioshock succeeded."

    Financially.

Is this how you judge a movie?

    Retard.

  • @ArgonianMerchant You're making it very hard to start a serious discussion, asshole. My point is NOT that Bioshock is better in quality than this movie, just that you should thank it for channeling its content to the world, rather than scold it for "stealing". So fuck you.

  • This *has* to be the most creepiest film ever made :/

  • MIND FUCK MIND FUCK MIND FUCK MIND FUCK MIND FUCK

  • if only a clockwork orange had visuals like this!

  • ah, jeunet!....

  • What just happened?

  • most epic flick ever.

  • looks like bioshock game!

  • @georgeapo6g6g6g true dat

  • The only reason i actually saw this movie is because - Friends and I would get Stoned and watch the movie Heavy Metal (VHS) and we always watched this preview before the show--- we were always like WTF??? Tripped out shit man!! Cough!cough!--LOL

  • @MrShaun42088

    no one cares

  • Dark City was another favorite. It had the same dark, gritty feel. Disturbing and dreamlike- a wonderful nighmare

  • This movie was amazing!! the special effects were Hardcore Tripped out at the end. The story was very Original.Orphan girl befriends a carnival strongman to find his kid brother who's been taken by the darkmen who steal children.End up discovering the Mad scientist responsible and duel in his dreamworld for control of his own humanity. The vision was stunning and terrifing. I heartily Reccomend this. the DVD has it Dubbed in English for our enjoyment. otherwise it's french(?).

  • What is this I dont even

  • One of the few great things to ever come out of France.

  • I remember watching this ages ago as a kid and being completely bedazzled by it, really, really need to rewatch it

  • wtf this is the number one in a list of best french movies....lame

  • Comment removed

  • @norskasbj1 thanks 4 the tip! :)

  • @keesdecrip because it warns about how education could be used to indoctrinate children into becoming docil people.

  • 1:52. that is all

  • i know this isnt relevant, but the little brunette girl reminds me of elin from let the right one in

  • @twistedoveryou01 that's what I thought too!

  • This is a really good movie

  • Dude I've been trying to figure out the name of this movie since I watched it like 10 years ago. I never finished it, it was slightly disturbing

  • @dgallegos4201 hope you finished it... the END was by far the most amazing trick of SFX i have ever seen.

  • I love it when the best horror films are rated R for only one reason...

  • haha this is what trailers should be like. not like today where they ruin the whole movie for you in the trailer.

  • @thecarrotdude HAHAHA so true,

  • oh god i've been wanting to see this film for years but still have not found a site to watch it online.

  • @cagalli85 You know, you could just buy the DVD. It's about £4 on Amazon.

  • idk what to even think of this

  • I read a review and loved the sound of this film. I then saw this trailer. :| Its changed my mind :(

  • I remember this PC game.

  • looks good

  • It´s like a NIGHTMARE

  • @emptyleonardo It is about nightmares. A cientist who whats to steal kids dreams because he only has nightmares, and cant undersatand the joy of childhood. It has everything: clones, freaks, cyborg-fleas, a stempunk cyclops cult (!)(really, not kidding) and Ron Perlman speaking french...OoO

  • Looks worth a watch.

  • Amazing film. A must watch!

  • ??

    wtf

  • @yaqoot75 "?? wtf" You took the words right out of my mouth. LOL

  • 1:53..... :O

  • Silly French.

  • I prefer the original, French trailer. But this one is good too.

I am fascinated with this movie. I watched it like 6 or 7 times and I still think this is the most climatic movie ever made.

  • @mcksbd I suggest you watch mr. nobody, it's better than any mainstream movie ever made.

  • @Negativerything I will. thanks for the recomendation:)

  • @Negativerything I just saw that film..and wow, it totally blew my mind. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • @shmazy21 No prob.

  • @Negativerything i doubt that if it were then it would also be mainstream

  • Amazing movie, amazing trailer!

  • I feel like I had the quickest acid trip....At least Hellboy was there to save the day!

  • Thats not midgets, thats just TIT DIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome movie.

  • What is this, Bioshock zero?

  • @District9Prawn fail

  • @Jewdam1basterd I'm joking man. I just think that the environments in this film sort of remind me of the city of Rapture.

  • can someone please tell me what this is about?

both my parents have seen it but they won't tell me, and i don't want to look on wikipedia because they always give it away...

  • @Chloe835 its pretty much about a mad scientist kidnapping children to steal their dreams and only a young girl named Miette (Judith Vittet) and a circus strongman can save them its part fantasy and part nightmare thats why everyone finds it disturbing lol :) i love it

  • Absolutely amazing movie. The trailer doesn't even begin to do it justice.

  • i saw this movie 3 days ago and i was disturbed it was about 4 hours long and it didnt make any sense ive been having nightmares ever since

  • @iMaSmArTgUy123 on IMDB it says 112 min not 4 hours

  • Fantastic movie.

  • what is this i dont even ..

  • I remember watching this trailer when I was ten and being thoroughly disturbed.

  • Did you ever watched a trailer that was followed by a sensation of your brain being raped ?

  • @Krybo

  • @Krybo yes !

  • @geiuy my condolences, please do share with us when you see the naked body of a woman with her agreement.

  • I think Tim burton's jealous he didn't do this film,but still it's very cool,and I alway's thought there'd be a sequal but it didn't get one,thus far.Still it's a good film,but it's pretty wierd so be prepared...

  • I think Tim burton's jealous he didn't direct this. But anyway's this is a movie I wish had a sequal, but never did.Hopefully a less wierd one though.I still liked it though. But it is quite wierd so be prepared...

  • haqhaha wtf? Gave me a headache>><<

  • Is this good? I'm planning to download it

  • can someone tell me what its about

  • @cod4andhalo3iscool its about a city, where its got lost children. im assuming they'll be raped cause god knows my mind just got raped

  • This trailer tells me nothing about the film other than it stars Ron Perlman, I tend to find trailers like this are for bloody good movies. I must watch this.

  • I think I've said it before and I'll say it again:

    "Children are f*cking creepy!"

  • What song is that playing throughout the trailer?

  • @Dragonstorm787 I can't say for sure, but I think it's when that brain machine is telling the protagonist, Krank, a story to make him cry in the film.

  • Okay dokey this is like reading the blur and finding that there is a possibility that it is a crap book. Im not sure?

  • this moviewas so creepy

  • By looking at the name I would have thought "This movie is probably a horror movie.". But this year my dad bought this DVD, and to be honest.. I loved it, It was fantastic. It might be a little scary, but I wouldn't call it a horror movie. The idea behind it is very creative, I suggest watching this movie.

    It really made me think.

  • Looks scary and tempting, in that way very much like a fairy tale: all the oddities make sense (or are accepted) because the story they create is so captivating. Definitely have to watch this. And Ron Perlman is always worth watching. (With the possible exception of Quest For Fire and Hellboy II, but that last one did of course suffer the Curse of the Sequel.)

  • hey, it's hellboy

  • It looks terrifying

  • @darklordsapprentice

It isn't really a horror movie. Almost more of a fantasy... are to classify.

  • tim burton is a good guy. just most of his movies suck.

  • what the hell is this!!!!??

    MUST WATCH NOW

  • el gran director Jean-Pierre Jeunet

  • Wow, this looks fuckin weird

  • RIP Daniel Emilfork. Wonderful face, wonderful actor. Paired with Pinon in this, played a part in making a wonderful film.

  • {1:29}{in Tor Johnson voice}"Time to assimilate Enterprise!"

You watch MST3K for ten years and that's what it does to you.....seriously,GREAT film.I'm glad I got to see it theatrically.

  • what tim burton wishes he was as good as
