  • THAT IS FUCKING MENTAL

  • How would you plug one of these into a computer? It seems like theres no MIDI in/out but would i be able to plug it into my audio interface and record audio directly into a DAW? I really want to get one of these b/c they're so cheap and so facking cool.

  • im guessing this wasnt designed for americans?? fat fingers cant even fit on the ribbon..smh

    they look like baby toys

  • "The monotron DELAY even reproduces the pitch changes that occur when you vary the delay time, just as though you were using an analog tape echo." So it uses a digital delay?

  • @cfiore88 In that small of box of course it uses a digital delay. If it had analog delay, it would be huge.

  • @Oweng40000 Not necessarily. There are different types of analog delays, but a portable type probably wouldn't be able to have such lengthy delays. Oh well. I'm still excited for mine to arrive in the mail whether it's an analog delay or not. Maybe I'll even mod mine to accept MIDI.

  • yes!

  • but will it blend?

  • im loving this, might get one and record some futuristic samples with it on my tascam dr-40

  • skip the monotrons and monotribes, GET AN ELECTRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Planet rock bonus beats 1980`s

  • must, have it, now!

  • 1:08 totally killed me

  • These are great but they are a bit hissy, surely Korg can sort this for a few dollars more?

  • Sound like the old 8 bit video games my grandpa use to play.

  • @numanuma20 Your grandpa used to play? Are you really young, or are your family just reproducing more rapidly than anyone else?

  • @V100BB I don't remember why I wrote that, or what I was thinking when I wrote that.

  • @tonefunkdef Well, that's just the feedback feedback-ing the initially quiet noise. You can run it through a gate compressor if it's required.

  • i'm worried about that big hiss! is it going to be usable on super clean digital recordings? at 10 seconds you can hear the hiss change when the feedback knob gets turned up.

  • @tonefunkdef

If the hiss isn´t worse than the original monotron´s, there´s nothing to worry about.

the monotron is perfectly usable alongside other source material :))

  • comparing this to a tempest is just insane. the tempest is about 20 times more expensive!

  • holy sh*t thats cool

  • holy fucking shit this is mindblowing. cant wait to get mine in the mail!

  • Korg your awesome keep making products like this!

  • Got mine Pre ordered! :D

  • Definitely picking this up when I can.

  • To the guy that commented on my comment: I agree with you if you want to make electronic music, however, I do not. I plan on making rock and jazz music. I would use this as an fx to give me songs a more space like atmosphere. I do not plan on sampling and thing.

  • 1:08 Jizz in my pants.....

  • I could use one of these for a fx, since I don't see any musical creativity being in use with one, such as playing chords or soloing. I see this as more of a cheep fx synth for post-production.

  • @numanuma20 Not much of a producer if you dont sample....Sample the hell out of the sounds you get from that on top of use that tiny little thing for a live intro no one will forget...no musical aspects...dude you clearly have no musical imagination......You can blam my belligerence on the beer I am drinking or just admit I am right LOL.

  • Im going to get a battery powered amp, the Monotron Duo, Delay, my Classic and march down to drum circle this summer... :)

  • @drum4life42 Prepare to watch hippie heads explode.

  • @diablo22900 I also have djembes... But yes it will be interesting to see how some people react. HAHA!!

  • I want that analog delay ;) nice work Korg

  • Hey come one, you're the one who starts making sour remarks about this charming little thing. I'm the one who's actually happy with it, see?

Still - if a professional musician tells me in a professional way that there is this professional piece of equipment worth checking out, I will certainly do so :-)

But please don't tell me I can't use this. I have a monotron (the first type), built that one into a guitar (feeding 1 of 2 pickups through the VCF). Works for me. Professionally! :-)

  • Looks like I definitely want one. Can you make the delay unit create the feedback/oscillation thingie that you van with old analogue delays? I mean when the echo comes back just a little louder than the original, and the echo of that echo is just a little louder again? I remember a (now broken) delay unit that could unleash sheer terror that way... some danelectro units can do it, I heard, but no luck so far in finding one.

  • is this a new version of the monotron?

  • @2PlayGuitarNow Not exactly, it is a different edition of it. It just has a different purpose and different controls.

  • I just found out its going to be in Store January 2012 (Germany).

Ironicly the Aztec said that 2012 is supposed to be the end of the world, well here it is, Apocalypse in Pocket sized Format ;-)

Cant wait to get my hands on this and the Duo.

  • this is totally crazy

  • Monsters from the id!

  • ♥♥♥

  • Delay sounds like decay.

  • AMAZING

  • TY KRÁVO :D

  • this is so totally awesome. Want!

  • where can i purchase onw of these ???

  • Forbidden Planet, now in the palms of your hands!

  • OH MY GOODNESS I NEED.

  • Nice, but- why did'nt you implement them in Monotribe?

  • usefull

  • space is the place !

  • Ein tolles fest.

  • Incredible, it sounds like the sounds of Forbidden Planet!

  • @Pickwick666 I thought the same exact thing!

  • useless

  • Si llegara a tener filtro por resonancia,me compraba uno para cada miembro de mi familia...

  • Pa la saca.

  • @AliothSenator AjAJjajAjAJjjj...otro gaseoso más como yo!

  • yeah really korg, what's next? are u gonna make a battery powered sampler like the vss30? or you gonna do a battery powered mpc sampling pad?

and if I get all of these mono-trons, will they transform into one big massive modular monovoltron?

I need one to fight my hubzilla, is all.

  • @mtrucco MONOVOLTRON! BRILLIANT

  • 発売した暁には、オリジナル、DUO、DELAY、monotribe4台繋げる!もう、夢で見た。絶対買う!!!!

  • korg is the best

  • Dub Siren!

  • I want/need a plastic Modulartron!!!

  • Fantastic. Sampletron next?

  • Why does this thing upset people? It's just a little bit of fun. If you can make it musical then kudos. If not, wear headphones.

  • What is this good for? I can do this and much much more with any synth with built in effect. Sometime I just wonder what korg is doing. Too many toys and not enought professional instrument these days. Pretty soon they will be selling Korg stuff at Toy's are Us.

  • Comment removed

  • @respectac Waste of money if you ask me.

  • @mattsynth it's toys like these hwo add the special extra sound some productions really could use..

  • @mattsynth So? If Korg stuff being sold by Toys'r'Us means they get even cheaper than this: fine.

If that means kids will learn to make music wit it: cool.

If musicians want to create these sounds without having to buy big synths, they'll say: thanks Korg.

And if you don't need them, I have a very good option for you: don't buy them.

Or do you have a problem with the fact that now just anyone can make these great sounds? Cos I don't!

  • @Bietel WOW, Someone did not take there happy pill today. Professional musicians need professional equipment not toys. This product is marketed for a certain type of person and is too limited for professional use. Save your money for a Dave Smith Tempest, this is professional equipment with endless possabilities.

  • @mattsynth

So I checked out the Tempest. Indeed, it's an impressive machine. Certainly - it can do a lot of things a Monotron can't. It's bigger, much more sturdy I suppose, and it has much more controls you can tweak and fool around with. But, you see, it can simply do a lot of things I don't need; it's a truly great drum machine and sequencer, and it takes off from there - but I don't need all that... the Tempest, too, is indeed marketed for a certain type of person, I guess!

  • gotta have that NOW

  • WOW whens the release date!!
