  • Thanks for the video. Planning on buying same gun. Are your hands on the large size? I have med sized hangs with thin finger (8.5) wedding band and I can get a 2.75 finger grip without any extensions. I hoping not to add any extensions, since they can reduce concealment just a bit.. Thanks

  • i love your bucolic pistol range keep on keepin on your vids are decent and no ax to grind. cool! it looks like we must use the same gym franchise keep on truckin.

  • Very nice shooting! I just purchased the Glock 27, this looks like it would compare really close to the G-27.

Nice tight grouping at 7 yards. Makes for a great self-defense weapon. Thanks for making this video!

  • how are you liking it so far? I'm trying to decide between the 27 and the xd s.c.

  • I am liking the G-27 alot. Very nice! Shoots better than I thought it would.

  • I don't know what it is... I just don't like XD's. Is it Bulky over-grown, heavy slide??

Or is it that they are just plain uglier than my Glock? but then again, I see beauty in my Glock.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!.............

  • Arn't glocks automatic if they are can you do a vid on that thanks :)

  • No, only one Glock is offered in an automatic configuration, that is the Glock 18..

The rest of the Glocks are semi-auto only...

There are heavy regulations concerning full autos in the states and to my knowledge, there are either 3 full auto glocks legal in the states, or 3 legally converted(after market conversions) of full auto glocks in the states........ getting any of them would mean massive amounts of funds..... and even then...

  • i noticed that when the wind would pick up you shots were starting to veer a little off course.

  • People that have shoot both will tell you that, on average, .45 ACP has more of a "push back at you" kind of recoil and .40S&W tends to be snappier, and jumps up and then back. The recoil is obviously more noticeable in a lighter gun. From what I've heard .357 SIG is similar, though I can't say as I haven't shot any.

  • guestermating lol

  • I could see how the wind was affecting your shooting.

  • So you must hate the .357 Sig, the .45ACP, and the 10mm as well. Depends on the gun itself, not the round. If the gun is heavier like a Para Ordinance S16-40, it won't be as bad. The weight will keep the gun under control. The XDs are quite light so you should expect recoil. This is not a very fair statement against the .40S&W unless you have other reasons you dislike it such as an opinion on ballistics performance. Recoil can be controlled and compensated for with training.

  • i think he dosent shoot them cuz the bullets are more expensive

  • Nice bungee cord

  • Nice gun for Duty Police. Thks Guy!

  • hs 2000 greetings from Croatia ^^

  • I've never shot, but I don't think I need to

to say rapid fire is FUN. lol!

  • @ 1:00 you shot a dick figure

  • @pukinator1 LOL

  • yeah I thought that the high bore axis would affect it

  • it doesn't help that XDs are very lightweight. You kinda lose out on some recoil buffer when you shoot a polymer pistol.

  • I still love the one i got its the xd tactical it has a 5 in barrel in 9mm to make it cheaper to use at the range. It has very little kick because of the extra inch over the normal model.

  • I almost bought one of those in .40...ended up settling for the Glock version. Traded that for my current Glock .40 compact :P

  • how much does ammunition for pistols cost on average?

  • average $0.25 a round, but it depends on caliber and what kind of ammo, defesnive ammo usually ends up beign $1 a round...

  • Nice shootin' Jeff!! Congrats on the new pistol!!

  • hey jeff those xds are great tools and they come from factory with a polished feed ramp! enjoy!!

  • Comment removed

  • wow the slow mo really shows how snappy that thing is..damn

  • looks good Jeff will u be ccwing the xd now and with what ammo.

  • Wow thats alot of kick for such a little pistol lol, sounds nice though!!!!

  • that is a cool target does it have paint inside it or somthing

  • Good video. You say you prefer glocks over the XD - I would love to see a video sometime where you compare the two a little bit and give your reasons for liking one over the other (granting that this is .40 and your Glocks are 9mm and .45)

  • I made a comparison vid on the XD40SC and glock 36 which Ill post soon, but I still prefer the glock for the even easier take down, the grip angle/finger grooves, and most of all the reliability, I have yet to have a jam in the XD, BUT I know there have been thousands and thousands of rounds through glocks without any problems, I cant say I heard the same for the xd....

  • Looks like you have a good amount land to shoot on, you might want to consider setting up a few targets and practicing switching between the two and maybe point shooting since it looks like you have a good handle on the basics. Glad to hear you like your new gun.

  • Great shooting man..

  • lawl he made a dick in with his pattern. Nice shooting tex

  • Nice shooting Jeff!

  • u look fly in those sunglasses:P

  • seems like you got a keeper there. also appears to operate a little smoother than a glock?

  • -1 what? somebody's a bit too sensitive

  • good shooting

  • 40 cal's are notorious for snappier recoil compared to 45's. 45's are usually more of a push.

  • the three shots before the flyer were a exceptional group, pretty impressive.

  • Wow I didn't even see you change the clip..

    You're fast really fast...

  • That's some great shooting Jeff. I like the message at the end.LOL 5*s.

  • It's not the most accurate pistol, but it is accurate to be lethal at medium to close range.

I find subcompact guns are uncomfortable to shoot, because the frame is so small.

  • number 1 never shoot at metal. period to many people get shoot doing just this type of thing. you may have done it before but one day you might get a crap round and bang right in the face.

  • most competition shoots have steel targets, alot of people who shoot use metal targets if done properly its not an issue, what Im shootign at is an old rusted barell, there is almost no stabiliuty left in this barrel and defimatly no hard spots left hard enough to send a bullet or pieces of one back my way...although I really appreciate the heads up anyway

  • you are right but they usually are using lead bullets not jacketed or hollow points. i don't know what you were using but probably not lead. a little piece of ahollow point can do alot of damage..so once again just be carefull. if this was totally safe at public gun ranges they would allow you to shoot metal portable targets in PA they stopped it because people were getting hurt . don't mean to nit pick but safety first

  • This sounds pretty silly but.. if you want a really cheap target, find a stick or pole and.. mount some cardboard to it. If you're really lazy you can just skewer a box over the stick/pole and then tape your target to the box. I'm sure there are better ideas out there, but that's what I use for plinking with my BB gun.

  • its not silly at all safety always come first with a firearm. you always gotta think what could happen. and if it could happen don't do it. even though the possibility is remote its still possible. so i say you have a good idea DEFkon001.

  • damm your a good shooter but i heard the wind on the one that strayed from the target

  • i like the xd better than a glock the grip for me is better i shoot it a bit better but i like them both good shooting

  • i'm really diggin the shoot-n-see targets. i love watching where each shot is going. lots of fun. and I agree with you, that's a helluva great grouping for such a short barrel and relatively large caliber with the bullet drop and all. nice shooting.

  • nice group.

    Try a Pachmatr grip sleeve.

    Its the Subcompact model obviously.

You will see it on mine.

It makes a hell of a grip difference.

  • i love shoot n sees

  • seems you have to let the trigger almost completely to the normal position before you can squeeze of another round

  • i like your sunglasses

  • dang thats a pretty decent group,,,,nice shooting

  • the xd series are cool guns, but i still prefer glocks too.

  • Yea I like the XD series but I perfer a glock. I dislike the XD grip safety.

  • Can I ask why you don't like the grip safety, If it's just not your thing that's cool, but I just don't know what people have a problem with them for. It's not like it's a switch that you may forget about in a stressful moment. If your holding the gun ,the safety is off, it's that simple.

  • well if you were in a situation where your hand is injured, and you cannot grip the gun correctly and you need to use your gun then a grip safety is no good

A grip safety is just something the XD does not need. It allready has like 3 safeties I think. If it makes you feal safer then that's great. I think if your pistol has an internal lock then a grip safety is pointless.

  • I am over 10k rounds in my XD-9, no malfunctions what so ever. You should like that little XD-40 real well

  • Great shooting Jeff, You tore the bullseye out of that target! I have a cleaning video on my page if you want to clean it that way.. lol..

  • Thanks, lol, thats the ONLY way to clean a gun right...any other way is just nonsense, lol

  • Y are guns banned in my country!? I wanna shoot! ;(

  • there's gonna be nothing left of that barrel.

  • Comment removed

  • mmmmm nice!!!!

your barrel is totally wasted lol

  • Why is that?

  • not the gun barrel silly, the barrel the one hes shooting at haha

  • Knew you would like it!

XD's are very dependable and accurate though maybe a little more finicky with some ammo than glocks, I think that may be due to the higher bore axis forcing the bullets to feed at a little more of an angle. Like I said in your other Vid, the only ammo I had a problem with was Winchester Ranger and that may have been just a bad box of ammo, I'm not going to risk ruining any more Mags to find out.

  • Nice job .

  • or i wish in england we could just go outside and shhot a gun lol great vid

  • Good show man. I picked up an XD 45 this weekend and dig the hell outa it.

  • not bad, I would not want you mad at me LOL your back lot looks like you could use 2 or 3 dairy goats, alpines would be a good breed for you up there in PA they would give you free dairy products and keep the lot cleared off

  • Slapin' that trigger a little too much on the rapid fire. I tend to do the same when I'm excited. lol

  • yeah saw that while editing the vid...I was excited, haha

  • good shootin looked like you had fun

  • great video, I think I am going to look into getting an XD myself. hey where you been ? slacking on them videos...lol.. I look forward to them & really enjoy them... keeping them coming. you ever do a video shooting your beretta bobcat? take care.

  • I prefer glocks, I've shot an xd 45 and I can't say I liked it over the glock, I also prefer to have mor rounds and don't mind the thicker grip, and from what I here the glock is more reliable.

  • That really was a good group for the first time shooting a new gun!

  • Ah, so you got yourself an XD. From what I've read it's an outstanding pistol. Nice shooting, Jeff! The grouping is pretty good and I'm sure you will tighten it even further with practice.

    Awesome video as usual. =)

  • yay finally more vids from u hope u get some more knife and zippo stuff. Im 2 young to get guns so im not interested ...yet XD

  • nice stuff as always

  • Great video, great shooting, keep it up!

  • great stuff jeff.

  • I love how ur body "waves" when u rapid fire and slow it down ;P

  • Hey, great video.

Just a quick tip. If you plan to use the larger magazines in the subcompact look into the grip sleeves that go around the magazine. They take up the extra space beyond the end of the grip.

The reason for them is not only for better grip, but they stop you from seating the magazine too far up into the pistol. If you jam the magazine up too far into the gun it may fail to feed, or fail to go into battery.

Just thought I would mention that, but I'm sure you know already

  • thanks, yeah I have a grip sleeve on one of them, I just dotn have them for all...

  • A shorter barrel is not more accurate than a long barrel. Accuracy is a matter of quality and how the parts are aligned, tolerances etc. (generally speaking)

    Just my $0,02

  • I never said they were, a shirter barel doesnt let the round burn as much and therefore lessens the velocity a bit...with longer ranges that will negatively effect accuracy

  • My XD9SC is real snappy too! One time I got bit by the slide, didn't have a firm enough grip. I'm yet to be real accurate with it, i'm still relatively new to handgun shooting. I blamed it on the short barrel at first, not being able to shoot from a good distance, but it may just be me.

Say, did you mention how far you were shooting from? Do you know the recommended max distance for the sub-compact autos?

  • I was shooting at 7 yards, 21 feet here...sub compacts are generaly sefl defense guns they lose accurancy at distance but it really does depends on ther shooters skill...I have sen people shooting them accuratly up to about 25 yards, but I dont see peopel even shooting them beyong that...there ARE exceptions, lol hickock45 here on youtube shot his gloock 27, which is a subcompact 40SW at 230 yards, lol

  • I'm sorry, I just heard it now, you did mention the distance. That's what I shoot at too, and I can tell you have a lot more experience shooting semi-auto pistols than I do. I need more practice. The XD9SC was my first pistol, I think I should have gotten a 5" Tactical instead!!

I also saw on the zoom in that the targets are made by Birchwood Casey, to help the guy that was asking. I usually have to watch a video 5 times through to remember everything. LOL

Hickok is an animal, really cool guy!

  • WOW,Nice shooting

  • Yep... Once a Glock man always a Glock man! :)

  • Five Stars!!

  • nice marksmanship.........

  • Is that your very first time shooting that gun? That's pretty accurate for the first time with a .40. Thanks for the vids man!

  • yes, but Im use to shooting a glock 36, which is my current carry gun, its a 45ACP also sub compact so that helped...

  • nice shooting.

  • What kind of target is that?

It looks like you are shooting paint balls, with the orange dots you can really see the holes from a distance.

  • its called shoot-N-C its a neon yellow backign with a light black coatign as the bullet hits it scrapes off the black aroudn it with impact so its eays to see where you hit, I love them!
