I have the oldest Dell XPS computer, the m1210, and it runs this game just fine. I've never had any significant problems with it and the performance of all the XPS systems are excellent. I would recommend getting an XPS computer anyday.

Yes you will be able to run it fine.

In fact there was a special edition of this M1730 made, especially for WoW fans, which features a special WoW case design - looked great!

I believe it also came with WoW goodies.

You can install as many games as you want, as many as wil fit on the hard drive! Just ensure you regularly defrag the drive, and you should still get high performance.

Can anyone tell me why my fps is allways at 60 in ut3 im running it at 1200 by 1000 and its allways at 60 fps i tried setting it down to 800 by 400 (or 800 by 600) don't remember exactly but it was still steady at 60 frames i have a q6600 quadcore and a 8800gts and i saw a review of my video card and it said that mt card would get at least 98 fps but im allways at 60 never more never less! please enlighten me and tell me whats wrong so i can fix this annoying shit :)

Make sure you have enough RAM. Another thing to do is update the game.  Also, make sure that you have the latest drivers for your video card.

You probably have Vsync turned on. This limits the framerate to your screen refresh rate to counter 'screen tearing' (just google it and you'll see what it is). You can probably turn it off in the UT3 options menu, or in your videocards option menu.

Vertical Sync makes it so your framerate cannot exceed your monitor's refresh rate. Guessing that you have an LCD thats set at 60hz, then your max frame rate will be 60 FPS. Either see if you can crank the refresh rate to 75hz or disable Vertical Sync.

You didn't happen to mention what OS you are using? I bet it's not vista coz I have this same laptop with the 2.4ghz processor and only 2 gig of ram and it runs like shit on full settings on vista from factory! Please people if you are gonna post stuff like this in future put all your specs including OS it really helps people like me work out why my games run so shit!!! Yes I have enabled SLI AFR2 for this game and up to date drivers!

Yeah, I've got a m1730 with dual 8800GTX and it ran like dog in Vista Ultimate. The answer, disable the PhysX board, download the latest driver from laptopvideo2go (dot) com. Install the driver, reboot, reenable the PhysX, reboot then choose SLI mode and reboot again. It quadrupled my Crysis FPS rate :)

Yeah I tried your suggestion but made no difference the framerate is still crap at full res and settings maxed! Have you guys all reformatted and removed dells crapware does that help? I have disabled alot of dell's crapware from running at startup but maybe a reformat might be the go?

The first thing I did, after verifying that the damn thing actually worked, was to download all the drivers from the dell support site, then format it (be aware to have the disc controller driver on CD or a USB stick, otherwise you won't get past install of Vista) - if that doesn't work, try xps chat, perhaps your system is faulty, it seems a few early units have thermal issues and get underclocked. I went for the X9000 and dual 8800GTX - perhaps that might be something to do with it?

im using a dell dimension 8300 with an ATi RADEON 9800 XT with windows vista home premium 32-bit and its going really fast. *note* if your windows vista home premium is running like shit close all of the programs you are NOT using and make sure you have the latest updates. (except for networking updates they just turn off your modem and turn then on again which you know really pisses you off when your downloading something)

This was using the Nvidia Beta driver, downloadble from the Nvidia site (167.51). I have since upgraded to the 8800mGTX, and performance is better tenfold.

i got a question, i have m1730 with dual 8700 gts and i want to overclock my gpu with rivatuner to get more fps in games like unreal and gears of war. however im new to overclocking and i was tring it yesterday and my 3dmark06 was crashing when i oc to 50mhz. is their a certain way to oc? i started out slow by increasing it by 10mhz slowy to 50mhz. my question is their a certain way to use rivatuner or was i doing it right?

Your PC goes pretty good even though you already bought a whole Dell XPS while my custom made desktop may run minimum requirement, but I still get issues about motherboards and the Sapphire HD 2600 XT with ATI Radeon acts like it doesn't have a driver support so I'm stuck with a ATI 9800 till my brother comes and order a NVidia.
