This is the best version of the song I have heard. I've been playing it everyday for 10 days now it's stuck in my head. Great editing job. RIP Tommy Boyce.
Brilliant - a fantastic 'music video' of this catchy tune from a classic film. A great effort with synching the footage to the music (coming down the stairs, etc.) - 5 stars!!
@NBCRecords Yes the "down the stairs" and guitar climb really go together nice. When I got to that part of of the song, the stairs scene came to mind right away (because I've seen the movie 150 times). I snapped them together and it looked pretty funny. Great fun song and movie!!
@Klaatubes I'd forgotten how fun this movie was (having not seen it in at least 20 years) and how much I used to love the music of Boyce & Hart. Your clip has prompted me to order the DVDs of Where Angels Go... and The Trouble WIth Angels, as well as some B&H stuff. Thanks again!!
"Wow! That's Twiggy (one of the girls in the background)"
Wow! That's not! One would have to assume the most recognized girl on the planet at that time would have more to do with her life than come to America to be in the background of a movie with no dialog.
@RedrooAU we started liking Criminal Minds, SUV etc that promote murder - not that I am saying that those shows are bad, just that here in Australia you have a rotten day come home to nasty news and then it's all murder and crime. This movie and many others remind us of good times.
Man! This clip took me back to my childhood and my home in Los Angeles. I remember when this movie came out my big brother Ricky was knee deep in Vietnam. The song takes me back to that time. I rememebr we'd be watching the news every night to hear about the casualties. Mom,Dad and my brothers all in the living room. Where did the years go?
Thanks so much Klaatubes for loading this. I've seen this movie many times from when I was a kid along with "The Trouble with Angels". Rosalind Russell was terrific. She was in a great movie called "Rosie" with Sandra Dee, Leslie Nielsen, and Audrey Meadows. i've always enjoyed Boyce and Hart's music. They composed the theme song to Days of Our Lives.
oh yes and Father Downing and the LUCY show and I love lucy and and sister act, and many more....i loved her.....she was like a grandma oh and abbout and costello movies.
@kduideo Her list goes on. I merely mentioned "Sidmund..." because, well, that was an odd inclusion on her resume. Hey, she made the show funny ! I was too old to still be watching Saturday morning shows, but I tuned in, just to see her.
@kduideo I grew up with Mary Wickes, and she was terrific! She was so funny, and you couldn't help but love her, and I remember her being on the Lucy Show like someone else mentioned.
I have to say, this was an excellent job with the music and movie captions that we are seeing. Great job and thank you for sharing this along with your talents.
great movie and it really brings me back to how good it was to grow up in the era along with the values. i thought devon was a hotty back then and i wonder what she has done since ? anyone have any information on her and if she continued to do films, tv, modeling etc ?
i wouuld like to see a movie reunion along with the interviews for all these girls.
The opening for this Trouble With Angels starts with a trip to Philadelphia for a sit in and protest, This movie made the steps of our Art Museum famous before Rocky's big run almost eleven years later. Nice night scenes of downtown Philly in the 60's, all the neon signs on the stores ablaze, Philadelphia's version of Times square! I recall those old bus stop islands in the middle of Market street, they were still in use up in till the 80's when I was a teen!
Great memory. I was a 10 yr old kid growing up in Los Angeles back in 1968 and I remember watching this movie with my brothers at the local movie theatre. At the same time my big brother was going through hell in Vietnam that year. Well, he made it home the following year.
Thanks for posting this video/song! I have loved this song all my life and wondered where I could hear it again. Thanks!!! It's even better than I remembered!
I love Susan Saint James in this movie!! (She's the girl with the short hair.) And this was years before "McMillan and Wife" and "Kate & Allie" made her a bonafide star! :-)
Kate and Allie was hilarious in the 80's, one of my favorite shows, my mother used to watch McMillan and Wife in the 70's. Susan Saint James was a beauty.
@Juliaflo I'm SOOOOO jealous! I LOVE Robert Osborne. I have a huge crush on him. He's much better than commercials! I could listen to him all day long. Sometimes I don't want the movie to start! I spotted him on a Beverly Hillbillies episode one day. Swoon. I love how impartial he is. He introduces an awful movie with the same enthusiasm as the greats... and always with tons of fun new information. What's he like? What's he like?! What's he like?!!!
This is GROOVY!!! lol...Yeah, I like the movies from this era...just good fun! And they didn't resort to using such vulgar language for cheap laughs...
