Have to agree with the commentator about the choice of music -- how ineffective. Compare this to the japanese sounds of her '88 SP -- it doesn't get any more powerful in a SP than that music-wise. Still, though, the jumps and the layback were so flawless here, even the dull music is quickly forgotten.

What retarded announcers. Saying the two 6.0s for technical were questionable and surprising. Please this routine sure as heck deserves a 6.0 for technical from atleast a few judges. Also saying even 1 5.9 on the second mark is too high. Get real, I thik the judges were way too hard on her on the 2nd mark and she should have had more 5.9s. What pathetic commentators.

Possibly because it was the original program and they had required elements, and one of them was a toe-toe combo with only one a triple. They often don't allow the original program to become a triple jump contest.

Hım..I get it.Next year,she tried lutz-toe combination even tough others were attempting toe-toe.Anyway,she tried lutz-toe combination at the very beginnig of the season.That's strange.But you must be right,It couldn't be  allowed.

Because she did not have to do a difficult combo. Don't forget --- she was the last skater of the evening. In the old system, the later you skated, the better you scored. Moreover, she already had a great reputation. The safety was more important for her. And this easy combo was harder than 3t-2t by Trenary and Leistner. Yamaguchi did 3lz-2t much earlier of the evening, but she was not a contender yet.

I think Nicky meant that normally she skated to disco sounds and he was surprised that she was skating to a tango.

God she's so tiny yet she can basically jump her height lol. And her double-triples are just so effortless looking. Obviously she was the pioneer for the likes of Tonya, Tara, and Mao.

Actually she tried to go in the wrong direction after her spin combo. Consequently her foot work got a bit short. She mentioned it after this performance. Watch her coach tapped on her head after the performance.
