  • Sir Ian Botham's exploits . . . . The source of the most joy amongst my dad, uncles and great uncles over a tumbler of scotch every birthday and xmas !

  • You can't beat a bit of Beefy!

  • 50 likes and 1 dislike ... 'MrKami1981' I presume. Mr K needs to do some more research.

  • 4m12 caught and bowled .... incredible stuff!

  • Mr kami sounds like a knob.

  • 4.18 Simple epic!

  • you guys need to wake up...this guy is never a cricket legend maybe an english legend...this guy was never quick and consistent....and batting well records and facts speak the truth...best all rounders in the world please....

  • @MrKami1981 lol

  • @MrKami1981 you guys, please state the facts, runs, wickets, catches, millions raised for leukemia research.....best all rounder to ever to walk the earth!!

  • @2310mjh obviously u dont know ur cricket. he done more for charity than he done 4 cricket......seriously 2310mjh please... o.d.i records he is not even on the top 60 wicket takers of all time batting...well he not even in the top 100.... test tecords not even in the top 50 in bowling and batting not even going to bother disrespecting the good old english game but u do if u say he is the best all rounder ever!!!! what has dis guy done and acheived?? product of british media..boosted overated...

  • @MrKami1981 I think you will find he is 13th in test wickets taken-so perhaps you are not as hot on the facts as you think you are.Oh yes,and he still holds the record for being the quickest to 1000 runs and 100 test wickets.

  • good for walking and pantos in theatres......never a cricket legend!!!!

  • One word... Legend

  • he is a great criket player

  • Love a bit of beef. Especially the hooks he used to play about an inch of his nose!!

  • I wonder if Botham wore a box against Lillee

  • He did most of his damage around the world before 1985, imagine if fitness levels had been demanded like they are nowadays. Surely he would have been the first bowler to go past the 400wickets mark.....After all, he went on to play till 1992(i think) for England!

  • Imagine how far some of those shots would have gone had Beefy been using the bats of today... astounding power. Same with Viv Richards, those two would have made Chris Gayle look like Chris Tavare.

  • oh..my god the telecast is horrible...only one camera??

  • 1:22 lol smiling as he plays a shot

  • my all time hero simply bloody marvellous!

  • amazing video best all rounder i have ever seen

  • An inspirational brilliant all round cricketer as your ever likely to see.

  • Around 2005 I thought Flintoff was better (I was too young to see Beef in his prime), but the more I see of footage like this it's clear Botham is the greatest all rounder England ever produced

  • Those where the days....

  • What a player. Apart from his brilliance with bat and ball, Botham took some amazing catches. The catch at 3.48 is astonishing when you see how close he's standing in the slips!

  • mahajana who cares about 20 20 were talking cricket here, list 20 20 with x factor, im a celeb, and candy floss...........load of shit

  • Get botham back on the grass!

  • He would get brutally hammered in today's 20-20. Just the right pace and lollypop length.

  • @MrMahajana Before his back injury, you could hardly cal him lollypop. He was quick and took his 1st 200 test wickets before his injury at an average just over 21. lollypop my F*ckin arse!

  • Both v Lillee..without a helmet,,,swatting him away like he was ab annoying fly...superb!!

  • Personally, I believe Ian Botham's finest work were those meat adverts he did with Alan Lamb.

  • The meat adverts did contain some of Bothams best work however his solo Shredded Wheat comercials had it all, factual, upbeat and Beefy's banter was fizzed from the get go.

  • Great cricketer.. Hooking off Lillee was astonishing. Respect, Sir!

  • Simply the greatest all round cricketer England has ever produced

  • "Shear brilliance, from one of the greatest all rounders the world has ever seen" You don't get much better than that!

  • When he gave up cricket, he became "Magnum P.I."

  • great - especially the focus on his fielding/catching. what you'd pay for performances like this today...

  • He took on Lillee without a helmet, talk about balls of steel

  • Oh for cricket without helmets now. You are indeed correct about Beefy, sir.

  • @danielhewson I know! I wouldn't go to crease in a suit of medieval armour against Lillee!

  • "One of the greatest all-round cricketers the world has ever seen."

    Too right, Richie.

A pain in the ass as a commentator, though. Not a patch on your good self.

  • Great to see. Many thanks.

  • Great Post -- Keep up the good work , Ian botham is one of my favourites players alongside Viv Richards, Imran khan, I particular like beefy batting although he was great swing bowler. The hook shot of Deniss Lille is million to one shot in cricket at (2:18) it not easy to pull or hook when Lillee charges in

  • What's also interesting it looks as if he hooked it from behind or just right beside his head...pretty good...
