wtf why is there a car at 4:09? In the book, this all takes place in the 1800s, and even if it was early 1900s, those kinds of cars didn't exist...

A lot like I pictured it when I read the book so many months ago, ain't that a first... Movie being like the book.

The only real difference is there was less gore in this, and the entrance to the shaft was different in my eyes.

yeah, for me, I imagined China Shaft to be like at a rock dump. Just a huge gravel/rock pit with a few hills around, and holes inside the hill to go deep into the shaft.

The Regulators is a companion book to Desperation, written by 'Richard Bachman' (King's pseudonym). The characters have the same names, but are different people. Both stories are about 'Tak'

I saw that movie today and I assumed it was based on'the Regulators' (because most characters from that book were in the movie) I havent read Desperation yet so I was wondering are Desperation and Regulators the same story?
