I have a hurricane 5.9 and its a lot faster boat but dam no idea how you can balance like this, i get dunked a little but without the fear of any thing more than a little wet but the boat carys on and you power up and go again

Mind you this was in some marginally light winds...seems like you need three hands!

Certainly where the speed is though, being able to point that bit higher with the kite out.

Just raise yourself to the max & get in front of the mast. You will need to heal the boat to leeward to create time to get round the shroud.

Love this video, I've just bought a RS700 myself and I really strungle in light air to get enough forward, I see you hook into the trapeze even in very light air, but as soon as I do that i get way to much windward heel and find myself swimming. Where I sail its often pretty gusty so I'm to afraid to leave the main and cleat it.

Any tips? :)

I have just done an adaption of the main sheeting system, works a charm, Just make sure the system can be unclipped/unfastened easily should you need to in case of capsize.

Love my 700, its the only one of 5 boats that I sail now:)

The main passes through a ring which is tied to a piece of elastic with a small loop on the end. This is atttached to me via a small bauble on a line atttached to my life jacket.

The main also has to have an elastic tie off that goes through a ring to keep it tight otherwise you loose it.

No! It is continuous though & I made the rope a bit on the long side by accident & so I can go in & take the loop out & then adjust it while still stood out on the side. Hence to release before the windward mark I'l bend my knees grab it get back out wait a while till I get near the mark & let it off at the last point.

Elastic tie off, you mean just in front of the tiller the end of the main sheet is tied to elastic? I'm a bit confused.

I tie the end of my main to an elastic take away that goes through a ring and ties off at the forstay. To stop the main tangling with the tiller it is important to have the ring on a strop (piece of thin rope) tied to the to the rear bar or similar. This means I never have any trouble with a trailing main or getting the main caught over the ends of the bars. I also use another ring to keep the main attached to my harness.
