Whoever dies will already be dead in episode 1. Both Nathan and Dan are signed on for the 9th season. Nathan is signed on for 9 episodes, and Dan for all 13. That would mean neither one are dead and you are both wrong. There are no characters visibly resigned for the season, and Lucas is returning for an episode, so it would have be to be someone such as Peyton (which is unlikely) or an irrelevant character. Considering Haylee inspects the body, it is most likely one of her sisters/etc.
i just started watching one tree hill like a week ago and i am on season 3. there is no way i am going to be all the way done with season 8 before the season starts.

they say now that season 9 will be the last, but if the ratings go up high enough, they could do another season. there is other shows that said, "oh, this will be our last season" & then they ended up doing another season.....well, maybe this will be the last....but, you never know...i just wish that lukes scenes werent all with just jamie & haley....and i really wish hilarie burton was returning....before the show ends, i think we deserve to see peyton one last time

@jeremywright88 haha no they have ran through a sixth and seventh season. Mark Schwahn and the cast and crew of OTH are still running through the middle of OTH SEASON EIGHT and the new SSN 8 episodes dont return till JANUARY 25th, 2011 :D

@laiseaJ But in Dan's case, they can actually turn it into a positive ending. If Dan dies in a way that redeems his character, it would be worth it.
After all, while I liked Keith, his death was easily the most powerful scene in all 8 seasons.
