In at least two instances, it's not hard to see that wood rolling into the gutters gets trapped there like it's supposed to. This gutters would meet ICBA specs just fine.
So you watch one video from Halifax Fairlanes and assume all centres in Canada fall this good? How narrow minded. These pins were juiced up a notch because the Worlds is the showcase for the game of candlepin. Charlie can flip the gutters over in Bangor and make them flat so should I just assume all of the US centres can do this too? Sheesh.
Ok, I said that out of context. What I should've said was I wish I'd get pin carry like this at the house I bowl at. But then again, the house I bowl at is VERY old. How old are these lanes anyway?
The age of the house is not important. The maintenance and condition of the equipment is. The pins there are 10 years old which is about the prime age for pins. All the sidewalls have been repaired or replaced in the last few years. It's all about how much care is put into it.
The lanes at Fairlanes are great. Very well maintained and the best lanes in Nova Scotia in my opinion. Doug Blacker puts lot of care into them and maintains them well. Chris is right, they were a little juiced, but as he said, its the worlds and the showcase for our game. No harm in having them a little bit juiced even though, the bowlers there don't need it to bowl high scores. In normal league conditions these lanes can be a bitch sometimes ;) haha
You're right, i could have won easily. But those are the breaks and i was nervous as hell. It happens.....congrats to Trevor. I want my rematch next year bro...

They weren't flat, they were just kinda extended. There was still a dip in them.

The pin carry at this house is like 100 times as good as what we usually see down here. I can only imagine what my average would be in Canada!

It was a good match, but Mark could have easly won it if he would have made the 9 pin breaks he missed. Congrats to Trevor

Trevor had 2 foot fouls during the match.

Ah, OK. That also explains him resetting after his first ball of the match.

Was the 3 box a foul or a lob?
