OMFG !!! just when i fkin though HxH is at its end !! then the mangaka reveals that the world map is just of the 'human world' or the known world. theres a toriko-like gourmet world and that the ants are just one or even the bottom of the species in the outside world. maybe its why they were driven out into the human world. oh god i love hxh xDDD sorry for the spoiler.

I have to say this is my favorite fight scene in the show. Two bad ass sides, both showing respect for eachother, without any of that one side gets dominated bull shit. This was so good, and the actual scene was so nice :D

this fight was disappointing... here we have 2 legendary motherfucking assassins against the leader of the Genei Ryodan and yet the fight goes for like 5 mins and HARDLY get a glimpse of their abilities :( oh well, amazing anime nonetheless.

@Ese1Pac Which fits with the theme of this show that fights are sudden and quick. They are over quickly and the guy who figures out the others abilities and strategies first wins the match. I'd rather that over having a fight that goes on for thirty minutes with the opponents flailing their bodies around do jack all and removing all tension that the scene could have.

one more thing, of all the animes ive watched, this is the only one with a neatly done filler. lol if i hadnt read the manga i wouldnt have known that the exam where they were left on a battleship was a filler xD it had the same tension and quality as other parts of the canon exam so it fit really well. the old animation is the bomb :))

Both the old anime and the reboot are great the reboot has 1 up on the anime for it's pacing and for keeping togashi's style the older anime had gon looking like a completely different character than what was seen in the manga

i agree the reboot sucks ass it didnt have the tension and seriousness of the previous animation. that animation was for me one of the best ever. it made you feel what the characters are feeling. ugh the good old days lol.

@cookiewaa Yeah. The new animation is calculatedly childish, as are the characters. It moves too fast without developing character and lacks tension, (though I agree the old series moved a bit slow at times).

But they've given Gon such a girly voice, it's difficult to picture him as a guy. As for the animation, I don't know what they're going to do when people's brains start getting eaten. Togashi is a non-comformist and very unpredictable, dark and complex for a shounen artist.

@waalkwriter he's a genius the mangaka. he makes you think. he goes into amazing detail of even the things other mangakas usually take for granted. eg:the nen system. theyre not just given a backgroundless power or a demon inside of them. theres a system in which their own unique ability branches out of. and yes the tension of each scene. incredible. hxh is THE best example of a manga that doesnt require amazing graphics but a kickass development and story. too bad reboot sucks.

@cookiewaa It's really a pity that they're killing the hxh atmosphere that made it so awesome in the first place. I seriously have no idea how they're going to handle the Ryodan Arc. That has got to be one of the darkest arcs in the old anime and I just can't see them leaving any of Ubogin's fights intact from the old one.

@jpbrammer I hope you consider watching the reboot, then! There's at least 7 episodes out now. They're compressing it and removing a lot of the fillers. The pacing is nearly twice as fast, so I'm hoping that they'll get to the more awesome fights more quickly, too.

@Mephzice and i suppose the 1999 series is not censored and have blood? check your facts again and see the old series side by side to the new series and you'll see that the old series was the one who was censored more than the new series and also guilty of changing things around that made giant plot holes w/c rendered it "not good" to continue. why do you think the rest of the hxh series was in OVA?

@ricdabeast what @ayemjake basically saying is that in naruto, it's chakrafest (showing off jutsu left and right) while in hxh, it's all about strategy and determining an opponent's weakness in order to win the fight (as seen on this video). so if you're someone who thinks light shows are cool, then naruto is for you. if you're someone who wants a more realistic approach in a fight, then try hxh.

@ricdabeast I won't diss the chakra system in Naruto, but all the jutsus really do get quite ridiculous after a while. (Have you even seen the latest chapters? Meteor bombs, really??) Hunter X Hunter's nen system makes more sense, because Togashi utilizes restrictions and limitations, and in a nen fight it's all about balance and tactics. Naruto is becoming more and more like Captain Planet as far as I can tell.
