  • Wow...this short makes absoulutely no sense from start to finish...and it's so much fun to watch!

  • How did a single man draw all of this? Nowadays people can't even draw a face right.

  • Pennywise turns into Slenderman. Nice.

  • Man, just amazing. I hope I can find it in high def some day.

  • I miss the old toons, they just so insane!

  • that mirror must be really annoyed being asked the same question over and over again lol

  • man cartoons from the 30's are trippy and yes i have seen Minnie the moocher also staring Betty boop

  • Betty's voice reminds me of Brittany's from Dariah.

  • This is the first time I've seen this since I was 5. Of course, all the old betty boops kind of blend together in my mind. Like this, Old Man of the Mountain, and Minnie the Moocher. They were still part of my childhood.

  • 4 months later and I come back to the same video....I still get chills haha!

  • Damn! This is just a stunning cartoon!

I love how it goes from the peppy soundtrack to Cab Calloway singing crazy soulful and then right back to the bouncy, silly soundtrack from before.

But really, everything about this cartoon is great.

  • 5:36 here it is the inspiration for MJ's moonwalk!

  • This is the most horrifying thing I've ever seen in my life. And I've seen Die Hard 2.

  • I can't imagine wearing an outfit like hers in the middle of winner!

  • ATERRADOR, que fuerte es esto, por Dios

  • The strangest cartoon I've ever seen... makes me feel weird inside..

  • I'd be happy spending the rest of my life making animations half as masterful as this...

  • I saw this when i was little but in color

  • 5:19 SLENDERMAN! X_X

  • one person has no soul ;)

  • this whole thing is a giant what the fuck moment

But, FOLKS LET ME TELL YOU A STORY ABOUT MINNIE THE MOOCHER< HOOCHIE COOCHER, FOLKS IM GOIN DOWN TO SAINT JAME SINFIRMARY, DANCINg walrus i hate california and losa angeles

  • Folks, I'm goin down to St. James Infirmary, Seeeeeee...... my baby there, she's stretched out on a long, white table, she's so sweet, so cold, so fair!

  • This video is an amazing piece of art! It tell the whole story in one short piece. This video may not go into much detail, but it sure tells the same story Walt Disney told when he wrote it. Watch it from 3:33.

  • The only station that can air this classic cartoon, would most likely be TCM!

  • Wow thumbs up if you agree....that cartoons back then where really trippy!!!!

  • @TheShaneWorld18 everythings so censored now adays it's pathetic

  • Why are they not playing this on tv, whatever channel would increase by at least 5 million viewers.

  • At 3:01 It's like Koko vs. the Balrog. . . except the Balrog is a stump in this case.

  • Snow

  • This is the weirdest cartoon I've ever seen! It reminds me of those strange, early Popeye cartoons. Top class animation, though!

  • THESE are the Betty Boop cartoons that need to be on DVD, not those shitty ones with that little puppy dog. They're on VHS, sure, but we want a DVD AND restored, to boot.

  • Mickey Mouse at 1:32

  • Mickey Mouse at 1:34

  • They should've done more Cab Calloway/Betty Boop cartoons.

  • I just noticed the background during the St. James Infirmary segment. Brilliant stuff there.

  • The Uploader is a Star.

    Many, many thanks...

  • Drugs. Legit.

  • what is that wierd noise at 7:02

  • my god how cartoons have turned shit these days compared :) <3 u betty boop

  • This is an amazing cartoon.

  • lol 1:34 A Mickey Mouse cameo.

  • I choked on my water laughing when Betty tripped on the snow and rolled all the way down XD

  • is this public domain

  • 6:27 PUT ON YOUR 3-D GLASSES!!

  • Coco'ssteps are the duplication of Cab Caloway's dancing. In 'Minnie the Moocher', the walrus does the same moves--a duplicaion, in animation,of Cab Calloway's dancing. You can get the video of Calloway's dancing, with his orchestra playing, right here on You Tube. I have a few videos of him dancing, one with an impeccable Zoot Suit, and they are grand!

  • i wish they had cartoons likes now i love cab calloway st James infirmary blues it is bone chilling

  • At 4:35 to 4:55 - Lord, does Koko know how to STEP!

  • Ain't she cold in that snow with - well, hardly anything on?

  • The one dislike is the queen

  • Love that song!!!

  • There's such a difference between the recording on this cartoon and the other cab calloway recordings of st james infirmary on youtube. This one has him singing much louder and stronger. I want to find a recording of this!

  • Now we know,

    where MJ got his moves.

    I'm sirius.

  • amazing

  • Wait, Koko the Clown's voiced by Cab Calloway?

    whoa

  • @batmous Yeah. Not every time, but this time, for sure.

  • I like very much this video, that's why I added it to my "??????" playlist. A great work had been done on Cab Calloway's music. Thanks for posting it.

  • By far my favourite episode of Betty Boop ever. Calloway's rendition of St. James Infirmary is nothing short of bone chilling !!

Thanks for putting this online !!!

  • This once was shown every Friday night as the preceding cartoon before the showing of the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show,' in Terre Haute, Indiana, in the early 1980's. I was there for between 25-30 viewings and it is a delight to find this priceless bit of illustrative history again. It's also pretty cool to read of this film's history--just one person drew it? Wow!

  • @tallercaller We had it in San Francisco at the Strand Theater on Market St near 7th. Bad part of town, especially at midnight, nasty theater with sticky floors, but we had the most fun there. I miss RHPS every Saturday and I really miss the Strand. But Betty Boop lives on.

  • @tallercaller Nah, the animation credit went to the lead animator, who had a unit of lesser animators and inbetweeners who often went uncredited.

  • @tallercaller I first saw this in 1979 in Santa Cruz Ca as part of the Rocky Horror Picture Show! It blew me away, it's full of Jungian symbolism. The Step Mother as Dragon is ancient. Archetypal. The whole cartoon is full of archetypal symbolism. From a Jungian interpretation viewpoint.

  • @tallercaller We had the same in San Francisco, California. RHPS every Saturday night! The 80's was such a COOL DECADE!

  • @tallercaller Took him Six months, so something as rigid as fleischer really wouldn't allow it to happen often.

And I can say, this probably inspired scenes from Rocky Morror that were later deleted. XD

  • LOL, this is so kool.!
