Actually, studies (by people without a hidden agenda) show that families lead by two moms or two dads raise children that are at least as well-adjusted as those raised by a mom and a dad (or just one parent). My own view is that those kids tend to do better than average, because all of those kids are wanted and valued.

We do not live in a democracy. We live in a Constitutional Republic. The judges have the right to override a vote if they think the law discriminates against a minority.

They did that back in the sixties when the majority of voters voted to segregate blacks and whites. The judges overruled that vote.

I appreciate that many against Prop 8 see this as a rights issue. I sympathize with that position, but don't think that it wins the day. This is a long-term decision. I know many good people that are homosexual, but the sociological data is clear that children do better in families with both a mother and a father.
