I saw this film last year in January, at Green Planet Blues, an ecological event that is held every year in Romania. Can you please tell me where can I find the complete movie?
Corporate situations lead us to develop better products but why release them until the warehouse full of 'yesterdays' products are SOLD. If the scrap didn't end up in china and india, WHAT would they be sitting doing in the field ???? pickin their noses ??? I dont think so.....They NEED the economics of the situation. It's their OWN damn fault. If they werent twisted and corrupt their country would be successful and prosperous. IT IS THEIR OWN DAMN FAULT. DONT BLAME THE REST OF THE PLANET.
It's true that China is usually the place where people work on anything and do anything to earn money to live, but the fact that "the rest of the planet" takes advantage on that doesn't help at all. Also, if it wasn't China or India it would be Indonesia or any other contry with high levels of poverty, so it's evident that we can't exculpate rich countries.
I'm amazed how violent the guy break his computer at the beginning of the video. That's just plain stupid, why would you do that? So no one can steal it?
Why all types of software are bloating instead of improving? Why comp. languages such as java were invented? Why the average pc user "upgrades" their pc very frequently? Because of greed, ignorance, wishfull thinking, and an industry that is a parasite feeding on planet resources and human capital...like most other human made industries and various "economic" sectors....
Keep your PC and refuse to upgrade or buy their crapware until this mess is fixed for good, if ever fixed....
83jp you have to read more on this. All the international community is very worried about lead (and other toxic poisoning) caused by e-waste. There is an international treaty the Basel agreement. You have to do your homework first before post comments with your... opinion.
also- isnt it the fault of the people in China or wherever offering such low prices to take this scrap and do whatever they do with it.
whos more at fault- the person who sells it or the person who buys it. If it was more cost effecive for a the people in the developed world to recycle then im pretty sure they would- "its all about the money"
very misleading! Eg. lead is poisionous if you eat it or are consistantly breathing in lead particles in the air. But a chunk of lead under the ground isnt dangerous to anyone. Also we all handle lead in pencils everyday and most of us are just fine.
Its a good idea to not try to eat your old PCs or tvs but dumping them is fine. The only disadvantages are a few unsightly landfill sites (as opposed to unsightly recycling plants). The worlds a pretty big place so its pretty insignificant anyway.

GREED is about to turn the world into a big, gigantic mess.
Humanity will pay a price in the coming years when global warming and the rest of the mess we created will explode.
Sad thing is some few made trillions off the misery of the rest, and off the future of the human race.

In Japan, it's illegal to throw out computers. You must recycle them.

Yeah, but what do the recyclers do with the e-waste? I'll bet they end up in the same digital dumping grounds as the rest of the "developed nations".

Oh yeah...except for that groundwater thing in developing countries where they don't have efficient facilities to filter out lead from their wells.

Pencils' cores are made of graphite; not lead.
