@animelover2615 Yeah it is, it's a spirit- so there's not many ways of excorsising (sp?) them. The grinding noise and delay that they were taking was the better "photo" you take, the more damage it does. But you don't want to waste it, because you don't pick up film (like ammo) very often. It's tricky to play, luckily you can hear that there's a spirit in the room but navigating while holding your camera, and if they're attacking you sucks :P Awesome game though!

@IdealIdeas100 When cameras were first introduced from the West, most superstitious people had no idea how they worked, and assumed the camera stole bits of spirit energy to make an imprint of you in physical form. Cameras were thought to take years away from your life if you were caught in frame.

@Patriot4lyfe12 There's an old belief that cameras steal souls, I believe the idea here is that the camera absorbs energy from the ghosts and with enough pictures, they deteriorate too much to influence the living.
@UndeadShadowHunter ...I agree that Amnesia is creepy looking and unique in its own way but isnt that a little harsh to say that the gameplay on this is retarted I personally think for being like 7 or 8 years old at least this game is at least half way decent graphics arent everything i mean have u ever played the original silent hill that game is freaking old and the scariest game i have so far played
@UndeadShadowHunter You must have not played this. I agree amnesia is horrifying. But its also brand new and i personally think this game is creepier. It has more of a dark story too it. BUT amnesia also is an amazing game. They are both great!
People think other games are scarier than this and they are totally wrong because any game that is scary but you have a gun, isn't that creepy because at least you have SOMETHING! But in this game all you have is a freakin' camera. So a game where you have a gun isn't really scary unless something pops out of no where.
@007Tubedude I agree. horror games with no weapons makes u feel helpless, thus intensifying the horror. Thats why the recent game Amnesia The Dark Descendant was such a big hit

@Razer13666 its a different kind of scare that amnesia, its tough to compare them. Half of what makes FF scary is the story of why the ghosts are their. I agree amnesia is scarier but I like this a bit better, I cant handel not being able to defend myself XD

when I'm playing Fatal frame 2, a ghost seems to always be there right when I think I'm good, and then some random ghost would scare the shit out of me whenever I'm in a happy place.
So many things that really want to just piss me off so much, and it helps me get rid of boredness.
@GemoDawn A quick google reveals 'suicide' in the wiki article. It deals with the plot nearing the end but, at least in the story, there are people who committed suicide in Fatal Frame 2. If this is actually in cut-scene.. Is revealed by the rest of the search results.
Since I haven't played this yet (will do so soon ^^) and I've tried not to learn too much else about the game. I think it's supposed to have multiple endings and in, at least, one (or road to it) there's suicide (not sure who).

@fantezie no you don't have to play it, every part has a different story, but if you wanna play fatal frame 3 it's helpful if you played part 1 and 2 first, cause part 3 contains a lot from 1 and 2 ^^

I laugh at death and pain, i think i don't register fear lol, itt's freaky, i've watched like 300 horror films and none, yes none, even freaked me out.
I hated that bit in the save room. I played it in third person so I walked in and just saw this woman crawling out of a box haha, crapped myself cause I always expected the save room to be safe.
i played this for the first time today, its awesome, this is by far one of the most creepies video games i have ever played by far i remember that very first door he opened, i wasn't able to open it though, this game is so creepy that some people couldn't stand to watch me play.
Sure that can usefull in some situatios like when you want to capture a harmless ghost that just appears out of nowhere for a few seconds,but some of the amazing atmosfere is surely lost.
I assume it's like playing FPS but with Camera Obscura.
Other than that one very scary,and very sick game even though there are not flash eating zombies and Piramid head scum.
@benedicttubio Dude, don't trust walkthroughs, some ghost appear random...1 time i was getting a secret ghost and my friend told me there is only a secret ghost nothing else, so then i took my camera AND BAM! Broken neck woman appeared.... the walkthrough didn't even said anything about that.
It seems a little unfair doesn't it, these girls against a bunch of ghost with only a camera, at least give them the gun from ghostbusters. . .or a bazooka.
you can start from whichever one really, they're all different storys. The first being about a girl looking for her brother in an old creepy mansion, the second is about two twin girls who stumble across an old village that misteriously vanished, and ther third is about a freelance photographer who gets a job to phot an old mansion thats supposedly haunted. Theres allot more to the storys than that though and I recomend you get all of them.

i played this for the first time today, its awesome, this is by far one of the most creepies video games i have ever played by far i remember that very first door he opened, i wasn't able to open it though, this game is so creepy that some people couldn't stand to watch me play.

PZ2 in First Person all the time?
Sure that can usefull in some situatios like when you want to capture a harmless ghost that just appears out of nowhere for a few seconds,but some of the amazing atmosfere is surely lost.
I assume it's like playing FPS but with Camera Obscura.
Other than that one very scary,and very sick game even though there are not flash eating zombies and Piramid head scum.

@benedicttubio Dude, don't trust walkthroughs, some ghost appear random...1 time i was getting a secret ghost and my friend told me there is only a secret ghost nothing else, so then i took my camera AND BAM! Broken neck woman appeared.... the walkthrough didn't even said anything about that.

Is the story continued from Fatal Frame to Fatal Frame II and so on? Or could you just start at which ever one?

you can start from whichever one really, they're all different storys. The first being about a girl looking for her brother in an old creepy mansion, the second is about two twin girls who stumble across an old village that misteriously vanished, and ther third is about a freelance photographer who gets a job to phot an old mansion thats supposedly haunted. Theres allot more to the storys than that though and I recomend you get all of them.
