And like it or not, he served at the discretion of Sarah Palin. I'm just glad McCain lost, because she was another Spiro Agnew waiting to happen.

What struck me is that the issue with Monegan was happening before she was picked as VP running mate & more Reps on the panel than Dems. Therefore it wasn't a slander or political assault as they claimed. I mentioned the Walt Monegan fiasco and her ex brother in law, Mike Wooten. But I also blew a hole in her maverick myth. She sent her chief of staff, Mike Tibbels, to run the re-election campaign of Ted Stevens, who she refused to endorse after it all the criminal charges started piling up. That's when we fond out she lied about refusing funding for the Bridge.

I lived in Massachusetts when Mike Dukakis ran for president in 1988. He embarrassed himself on a national level in a losing presidential bid. The national economy bottomed out under George Bush 41 and incumbents nationwide paid the price. The point is, Dukakis was forced out of office because of his pathetic presidential campaign. The people of Alaska would have retaliated against Palin the way the people of Massachusetts did with Mike Dukakis. People from small states are very prideful.
