  • oh yea

  • I think i first heard this at the Highland Room ...i love it and still refer to ladies i like with "You Sexy Sugar Plum"...the mid point is my favourite point ....kicking out simultanously whilst breathing in and blowing out at the same time ....it looked the business.... with everyone in unison....it remains to this day one of my favourites...my whole vocabulary revolves around soul music....so dont Yvonne Baker this record....post your comment..Dave from York formerly Burnley

  • Well guys, I was the 1st in Peterborough to get this. We had an appointment at the Soul Bowl over in Kings Lynn. He would paly all his latest stuff, have a coffee and stay a cvouple of hours. He would put together packs of stuff HE didnt think would play. But he would get boxes of 25/50 of some stuff. Me n a mate collected together and got a box of 25 of this. We also got a box of The Carstairs when he had a stall at one of our dos, We couldnt even give them away back then.

  • gr8 tune my sister had all the 45s so i kinda got bought up with it...anybody remember a track called LADIES CHOICE..can you let me know who did it and where i can get it ..thanx...chris

  • asilum69uk "Ladies Choice" (Vocal & Instrumental) was recorded by Boby Franklin (male!), and was initially released on the tiny FEE label out of Detroit in 1974, later picked up by Paramount records. It was a massive record at the Blackpool Mecca, but spitefully "banned" by Russ Winstanley from the Wigan Casino playlists as being "too funky" to be played there! (presumably it would have frightened the horses... or something) LOL

  • Thanks a million!!!

  • It appears that the Casino Club was the "mecca" of the norther soul... That's right? What a music!

  • "Casino Club.. the "mecca" of the northern soul scene"????!! Hardly.... LOL
