Yeah, Elliot Smith and the Big Nothing is good, but he didn't really capture what the other book, 'Elliot Smith' by Autumn de Wilde did. To me, The Big Nothing just stated what we already knew. 'Elliot Smith' was more intimate without being intrusive, and it feature interviews to which Benjamin Nugent was not allowed to get. He didn't get to interview Elliot's inner circle like she did... And it has amazing photos which speak for themselves..

Yeah, I ordered it from Amazon almost new for $20 (s&h included) and it came with a cd of 5 live songs. Um. Even though I enjoyed it, after finishing it off I realized that she actually does talk about herself a LOT. For instance, right in the beginning with the interview with Beck and Chris (I think?),all they do is talk about how amazing and different Autumn is. It is annoying. But you do get a sense who of Elliot Smith was in a way later on, which doesn't make much sense, but yeah {:-) .
