Oh my god.. you can hear the click track in the background. That is amazing. Louis is my favorite bass player. Off The Wall is my favorite album. He is the reason I bought a StingRay. Awesome stuff.
On the album cover under this song, it lists George Johnson as bass player also. If you listen at 6:18, and at the end, you can hear a second bass being played.
damnn.. wish i had heard this earlier. do you have any more videos like this and have you got any from other bass players like mark adams, mark king etc??
Great post, Wow! where did you get this recording?? I thought I had a copy of everything Louis ever recorded, I don't have this tho... do you have others
...now THAT'S the way to lay it down- There's no mistaking the classic Alembic sound; & There's NO substitute for the level of comfort Louis displayed on this track here...a true artist!
@blackwaxjh That's actually not true; Louis used a Stingray on "Running For Your Lovin'" off the same 1977 album! He did use the Alembic on this track, for sure!! ;o)
*LOL* EXCELLANT!!!

His style of playing is different than his own recorded track he played. That's kind of tripped out, bro!

I would prefer to hear this with the drums because the interplay between the bass and drums makes a huge difference.

WOW.... What peek behind the CURTAINS
The bass is exactly what i thought .... But the piano guitars and lead vocal tracks plus the Mu-tron intro really are the shockers here
Beautiful presentation

Great Job, as usual. Didn't louis use a stringray on this?
terrelli721 1 year ago
@terrelli721 Louis was using an Alembic bass on this track. He didn't start using a Musicman Stingray until the "Blam" album the following year.
