Saw this tour in Pittsburgh. Ministry gave me the creeps, which was the desired intent. They were incredibly powerful. Weird set, hot dancers. Intense as hell. What a day.
In 92 I was at the Orlando , Florida Lollapalooza . When Ministry came on a bunch of college kids ran up to the pit area . After the first song they came out muddied bloodied and looking like " what the hell " , great day . The pits in O'ville and Tampa were not for the timid . Great lineup . great show . First time I saw Tool . They were playing on the side stage when Ice Cube was on the main stage . Still have the ticket and t-shirt . damn .....
Wow...I was just talking about this show today at work. Can't believe someone has this on video. I remember the sod and the mosh pit very well. Best Lolla ever! Thanks for posting this!
My roommate in college was at this show and she didn't know much about Ministry except what she'd heard from my stereo. But she said they stole the whole show. Went on just as the sun was going down, like it couldn't have been timed more perfectly. Scared the shit out of her. lol
Do you have anymore footage of the dancers? I ask because I was one of the dancers...but I can barely be seen (on the right of the video...dammit). :(
I was at that show! That was the year Pearl Jam and Soundgarden played, and Ministry threatened to walk off stage if people from the lawn continued to throw sod at the stage! Awesome!
Where is the mosh pit here??? WTF??? it looks like people are just standing around? In Vancaouver Canada the whole fucking place, every person in sight EXPLODED. It was insane. I remember it well.
@mykotron This was in an amphitheatre with several rows of seats in front of the stage ... the mosh pit was in the grass area in the back, we were throwing sod and garbage.. you can see it at the beginning of video
@mykotron Sadly, you can't see the mosh pit in the video. There's a bandshell (where all the people with seats who paid big money.) But behind all that is a huge hill, where people can sit, stand, whatever. And that's where the mosh pit was. It was enormous. I got hit with a rock in the head during it. Al stopped the show at one point and said, "Okay MFers! You want to throw shit, go ahead. I'll just sit here on stage and take all your money. But if you wanna hear good music, stop that shit."
Where is the mosh put here??? WTF??? it looks like people are just standing around? In Vancaouver Canada the whole fucking place, every person in sight EXPLODED. It was insane. I remember it well.
I would about do anything to have one of Ministrys sets on VHS or DVD from this tour. I've been going to concerts for 20+ years now and this is still one of my favorite shows I've seen
I was at the Great Woods show in Massachusetts. I was in highschool and just discovered Ministry about 6 months earlier. I had no idea what they looked like or how they sounded Live but I was obsessed with this band Ministry. Once the sun went down they burnt the place up. Literaly! The sod flinging was the Friday Show and I was at the Saturday show where the fences where burnt down creating moshpits that looked like a scene from Lord Of The Flies.
MetalSteve: Do you have that part where he stops the show? God, I'd love to see that again. Whoever was mentioning the mosh-pit -- dear god it was scary. I looked over to my right and when the lighting was right, all I could see was this vortex of thousands, circling in what looked like a human hurricane. I wish I would have been smart enough to bring a camera. Chilli Peppers were there, Lush, Ice-Cube, Jesus & Mary Chain, Pearl Jam ...
I was at the Ministry show at Lollapalooza in 92. Can't say if this is it. But what everyone knows who was there was that they played at night, and people started picking up big chucks of sod and rocks and throwing them. It became pretty dangerous. I actually got hit right in the back of the head with a rock. Al stopped the show and scolded the audience, saying he'd either play or go home with everyone's money. Classic! Biggest mosh-pit I've ever seen. The entire hill at the amphitheater.
I was at the Phoenix show tripping , alotofpoorlosers 92, they had four fire pits in the crowd with people dancing around them it was cool as hell. One my best shows
@j37h3r This is chicago, end of story. Thats why Al says Chicago, and hometown show. Youtube has the biggest douches come out and make comments. Have a nice day douche knowing you are wrong.
Somebody please tell me there's video out there somewhere of the ass-chewing that Al gave us. The sky was filled with smashed wax cups, grass, and mud.
No band was cooler than Ministry in '92. A reviewer said that psalm69 was the soundtrack to the end of the world, and I couldn't agree more. Was at this show and tripped in the pit about 30 seconds into the set. And since it just poured out and the grass area was on a slope, I took out like 10 people, and they all loved it.
Great Show!!!! LOL I ended in the emergency room with a sprained arm...and I was wearing a heavy leather biker jacket. What fantastic time...I love this band!
i remember the mud starting as a result of the "World" putting new sod in, and it was rainy. Security made us "pit people" (ok this was 92 so it was still cool to be in a pit:)
move to the middle of the grass..well security got some grass for sure..it was GREAT!
I thought it was a girl and she broke her ankle; however, I was a lil intoxicated!! I remember ice cube being boo-ed because most people couldn't wait to see Ministry.
MetalSteve, do you have anymore of this show? Like at the beginning of the show when he had to stop 2 or 3 times because the pit was getting too wild and Uncle Al was getting hit by grass from the lawn being torn up. Just wondering.
By the way, leaving in about 6 hours to go to Chicago to see their last 3 shows @ HOB!!!

I believe the Hotties are the "Archie Bell Dancers" who were performing on the 2nd Stage right behind the Jim Rose Circus

Since everyone is saying what Lolla '92 gig they were at, I was at the Shoreline in Mountain View CA Lolla..
RHCP might as well not even have played their set after Ministry wrapped up with theirs, they were that good.
Almost 20 years ago and I remember it like it just happened yesterday.
