I had the privilege of chatting with Jim Zubiena on a Miami Vice website. He is a stand-up person in real life, as earthy and no-nonsense as a person can be. He's a top-notch SWPL and IPSC competitor as well, and the Miami Vice limo scene is still used as FBI training material.

He shot the fuse box to kill the lighting; Crockett was a Vietnam vet and had night combat skills. He was banking on the hitman to have nonesuch. Any advantage you can gain over your enemy is worth exploiting.
